Yeah anything R33 GTST won't fit the stock caliper/hub combination; they will machine down to the same circumference (remove 3mm off the radius, a reduction in diameter of 6mm) however offset is wrong. Too shallow; binds on the inside pretty badly. Same would go for all stock size R33 GTST front rotors which are the same type/size, I would assume, regardless of manufacturer/part number.

so r33 gtst style rotors won't fit a series 2 then?????? shouldn't these be the same offset tho?

what the hell do we use then>??????? 33 gtr rotors?

WELL GEN NISSAN if you have money to ,other wise wait till someone find`s a setup may be may be look & see what you can find like most of us have been doing for 2 year`s ;) ,it`s hard work & when you do if something like brake pad`s :) it`s like WHY BOTHER ;) ,cheer`s chuckie.

Yep, exactly my thoughts, and it sucks but I don't think there are any, except for places direct from Japland like Dixcel etc. If you replace calipers too, and solve the bolt problem then R33 GTST rotors can be used (do *not* machine down diameter) or you can *probably* use R34 calipers and rotors... but wait for the verdict on those from someone who has done it first or see if you can borrow a set and test fit.

The ultimate solution, yes. Unless R34GTR ones are bigger or are a direct fit?

Of course if you change calipers too, you don't have to go GTR - even GTST ones are 4-potters apparently.

Good find! An Aussie Dixcel distributor :(

Although I would want at least slotted rotors, but at $400 even the *retail* price of a group buy on slotted rotors on these forums for R34 GT-T is nearly $50 less than that... personally I would upgrade but the Dixcels are still an option for those wanting to save the extra few hundred to buy calipers and get brakes fitted & bled (and probably to get the calipers rebuilt).

I notice the site you posted has a set of R34 front brakes (calipers and discs) for $600. So hopefully it is possible to pick up a set of calipers only for say $300 and get them rebuilt for ...??$ Then get some slotted (or slotted, grooved & dimpled) R34 GT-T RDA rotors through these forums, a set of R34 braided hoses through another group buy on these forums and you're all set. I would guess that with pads though it's around an $800 exercise if you fit it all yourself... with a workshop for fitting maybe $1,000 all up? Getting expensive. And that's just fronts... rears add another $600-700 for the same exercise? *guestimates*

ah i see, so gtst 33 calipers are essentially gtr calipers aswell, both of which are lighter cars then th stags, yet we get 2 pot calipers?

R32 GTR and R33 GTSt are the same calipers front and rear, i.e 4-spot front and 2-spot rears manufactured by Sumitomo.

f**ken OUCH

i use s14 RDA slotted fronts from the group buy on my 8/97 S1, but due for rears if anyone knows what fits?

Yup - nothing sold here in Aus...

I posted the part number earlier in this thread (43206-4P000).

The only car that comes close in an R34GT, but I don't think you'll find any of those around.

Well Hope that we can have some new`s to day As iam going to BRAKEBOND`S to see if they CAN MATCH GEN NISSAN rotor & see what they can do with price on Front pad`s will try to get better deal ???,

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
