1 thing I have learned is power is nothing with handling to back it up.

U might have some comp in standard 2wd as wayne is gonna do a few laps with street tyres to get the 10 points off you and then put his semi comps on and get points in the modified class also.

Power, meh what power...the old RB20 left you for dead down the straights at Sandown. :D

Now you have the susp tweaked its time you stop detuning the thing and just get the thing a safe tune at 1.2bar. Bullant47 is running something like 1.4bar and 270rwkws at track days ( do a search) , and it seems as though he is man possessed with the amount of track work he is doing.

That said if you cant afford to have something go bang, then i suppose its smart to exhibit some caution.

Thats why i feel sorry for all your R33 and GTR owners. Thing is when your car comes std with the RB20 POWAH HOUSE you can spend th emoney on susp, as the thing has all th epower you will ever need.

LOL...im enjoying my time in the sun, god knows when she goes bang your all going to give it to me

Well not quite Denham :D Actually that car has a fair bit of handling and other mods so with the added grip of the semis he is able to match or beat your times. Don't forget that the times I put down are only a few seconds (or closer) off your times.....all with 200rwkw no suspen mods at all and small, crap road tyres......

Oh yeah hes got tein coilovers.

What was your best times last sandown day?

I am hoping to go atleast 1.30 next time before my road tyres are totally screwed.

Wayne actually has a new r33 coming down in a few weeks with brembos, big slotted rotors, teins and nismo swaybars etc, hks 2835 so he should be able to give roys 1.24 a good crack to best rwd time at sandown.

hasent ur gone bang a few times already?

She went up in flames, not quite a bang....thats it. The rest was all spanner related...

Whilst we are on the topic of excuses 1:25s with an open wheeling diff...:D

Roll on Maserati where me wants low 1:23s :) ...as for Winton, as long as im good and sideways everywhere i dont really care, my car will never be quick around there :D

It was a bit more than coilovers mate!!!

Anyways I took over 3secs off my best and took it down to a 1:36 at sandown so I'm hoping to do the same to my best at Winton.

Although I tend to agree with Roy about winton.....without major mods (or a change in driver!) I'm unlikely to be that quick around there :D

I know wayne quiet well now and been to his workshop quite a few times in the last few months and the car he used at sandown only has the tein coilovers and semi comps as mods. Everything else was stock. Anyway that car wont see anymore track days. He did an awesome time for his first time at sandown in that car.

As for winton I think i will be sideways out of every corner and kill my rear tyres before maserati day.

Winton is a track probably more than any other in Vic where set-up makes the biggest difference in times.

Scotsman and I found we had 3s per lap difference just in adjusting the rear damper settings on my Tein coil-overs.

The funniest part was that the softer setting SEEMED better - especially on turn in - but was infact slower due to drive out of the corners.

Anyone with adjustable suspension / swaybars can learn a lot at this track by simply making various set-up changes in-between sessions.

Also - off topic a little - but I see a lot of people are talking about Maserati Day in October at Sandown. I won't be making that one due to the date and my wifes expected due day (she's currently expecting for the day before Maserati Sandown) - however I'm keen and a few others are to attend the PIARC weekend at the end of September.

I'll post up details for that event as soon as they are available but I'm keen to give the new set-up a run at the Island. What about you Brisby - 1.53's there isn't it???

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
