Grugwah
I have often been told (and it makes perfect sense) that when parking in an area known for druggies to remove everything from all consoles and leave them open so they can see there is nothing worth pinching for quick cash. I guess this doesn't only relate to druggies but the info seemed useful nonetheless. cowie165
I've heard that one too, but forgot about it. My windows are worth more than my CD collection too! Also check your insurance policy. The contract with Famous states that if the car is parked within 500m of your residential address AND on the street, the car will not be covered by the policy! Interesting fine print... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/83129-protecting-your-car-and-yourself/page/2/#findComment-1612942 Share on other sites

Birnie
Intersting fine print that's true. But i think it's a fair one. If parking near home (overnight or not) put it in your garage! I'd be pee-d of being the company having to fork out 20k cause some lazy sod didn't put the car in their garage..... That being said, don't think anyone would do the above mentioned clause anyway... Okay, next. My older brother had the ye olde' Hillman Gazelle back in the 70's (did they have alarms back then?) He had a home made interesting...ummm device??? You could only start it if you had the geard stick in reverse! (clutch in of course) How many people would know that ! or think to try it. Should get on to him about that one. And i guess if someone does do it..don't tell anyone or share it! Haha, what a bumma but unfortunately that's the best way to go!
