OS twin plate clutch

hey, jus new to dis site, so sorry 4 any stuff ups.

anyway, is it normal for a OS twin plate to hav a rattling sound (like metal on metal) wen the clutch is in?? wen eva i change gears i hear it. I got told its normal, the 2 plates r rattling agaist each other. is dis true???

Yep, & it's very annoying.The triple & quads do it to.

I have an exedy twin in the R34 & at the lights, in neutral

with my foot off the clutch pedal it rattles its head off.

Nothing much you can do about it.

Yes it's normal, I have an OS twin plate and it does it. Any multi-plate clutch will rattle, it's the plates knocking together. Don't worry about it.

Fellas , read the post . He said when it is IN which I consider is not normal.

Could be overcentering if the throwout carrier wasn't the right one or the fork is too short.

When my clutch is in that is when it rattles, when I clutch out it doesn't. I'm pretty sure that's normal for a multi-plate, but I could be wrong, it's my first.

Mines the same as yours GTS-t VSPEC. It rattles when its disengaged, but its an ORC twin.

jvs007 a rattle is correct but a grinding sound is not. Have had both before and got confused.
