no you just said that they weren't based off manufacturers,

Did I?

....Whilst Australian Standards are developed in conjunction with manufacturers (along with engineers, industry professionals and international associations)...

where does it say that?

Look Fellas, I didn't come on here to argue fact versus fiction with you. I simply tried to provide some facts about what's legal and what's not, and as I have said numerous times, it's up to the individual to use those facts as they see fit. If like yourselves people choose to ignore the facts, then so be it. It's got nothing to do with me and as Braddd has pointed out it's up to the police to enforce them. However we have already proven that bogus advice has already cost one user alr33x a defect, so where's the harm in clearing up the confusion? I'm sure if he knew the legalities before fitting said tyres he might not have done it.

I never said a stretched tyre is unsafe....

I never said don't do it....

I'm still trying to figure out what you are arguing about here...how can people make an educated decision if they don't have both sides of the story?

Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

i made a statement that the ADR's didnt carry any merit of their own (them doing individual testing themselves), you said that was true, from this we deduce that you think that ADR's are based off them doing their own testing.

bigger turbo, fuel system, computer, fmic, steel induction etc etc etc, i'd be glad if i only copped a defect for tyre size :ninja:

and dont say that it'd get me pulled over and then checked, as we all know coppers love to pull over skylines no matter what the wheel/tyre situation anyway

hey guys just wondering... i have a r34 gtt and want to know what size rims i can get without any modifications. i got a quote from work and they seem to think i can have 18x9 front and 18x10 back. didnt say anythink about offset. offset and tyre sizes would be a big help thanks. also whats the biggest i can go legally??

also still running stock suspention and i dont mind rolling my rear gaurds alil. after reading alot of these pages i think rear: 18x10 + 18

front: 18x9 + 12 should do the job.

Pretty agressive. Should look good. You'll have to roll front and rear I believe.

ok so ive been told that theres abit involed in fitting those size on. can any1 reccomened the offset for work xd9z to fit snug in stock gaurds?

Just copy and fill in the table;

Skyline model = r32 gts-t 4door

Wheel diameter = 18"

Wheel width = 8.5 front / 9.5 rear

Wheel offset = +30 front / +35 rear

Tyre size = 225/40 front / 245/40 rear

Modifications to fit = Need low profile tyres to clear the control arms up front. Rears stick out about 2cm past guards so need stretch fit tyres

Hi guys,

can anyone tell me the offset that would fit flush with the 33 guards

front 18x8.5

rear 18x9.5

been reading this topic but just cant find it, always slightly in or out

that shit is useless without offsets mate...

find out the offsets first

is that all i have to do???????

Sorry I don't know 34s that well. It'll look good. Just might cost a bit to make them fit. I think guards will need bit of a pump.

I know a mate is running 18x10's +22 on his 34 and they fit ok with 235's front and back so going by that you'll be 4mm wider at the back and about 2mm further in at the front if you use a 235 tyre. Or maybe he has 245's.... I can't remember. Anyway his didn't scrub.

I'd go 235's front and 245's at back and make em fit.

need some help here guys.

17 x 8 up front

17x 9 on rear, +44 offset, kinda homo atm as you can see in pic below

ill be pickin up four 25mm bolt on spacers tomoz and see how it looks....

keepin in mind this is track only, thinkin maybe a slight flare on teh guard as well...

Image041.jpg

wondering if any one knows what size spacers ill need if i want to fill the guards on my r32 gts-t running r34 gt-t stockies, i want the wheels to sit further out to look abit more agressive as i like the look of the r32 wheels.

cheers.

The question of what wheel size fits what Skyline comes up so often I though this might be a good place to post your own wheel dimensions.

Just copy and fill in the table;

Skyline model =

Wheel diameter =

Wheel width =

Wheel offset =

Tyre size =

Modifications to fit =

One of mine as an example;

Skyline model = R32GTST

Wheel diameter = 17"

Wheel width = 8"

Wheel offset = 35

Tyre size = 245/45/17

Modifications to fit = remove the front inner plastic guards, roll rear lip slightly.

:) cheers :)

got pictures of how the wheels sit?

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
