has anyone fitted R33 GTR rims to an R34 GTR??? How would they sit in the gaurds???

Chasing some 17's so I can get an bit of tyre flex on the strip, can anyone suggest any 33gtr altenitives ???

Today I fitted my brand new enkei 18x9.5+12 with new advan 245/45/18, and on the left front wheel it scrapes with the rear of the arch when turning slowly? am I going have to get new tires with smaller profiles???

you could:

  • live with it
  • roll guards
  • camber
  • buy smaller profiled tyres
  • raise it

personally I'd buy some 235/40/18's

It only catches the side skirts front connection plate that comes into the wheel arch..... so annoying, I removed it becasue it was pulling it off tearing the plastic. Rarrrrrrh

the guard liner?

if you are hitting that it's a good idea to lip the guards just enough so they dont catch the tyre ever and tear the guard in half

(like blags lol)

not the guard liner, on my r32 gtr the front of the side skirt actually comes around into the wheel arch and theres 2 screws,

Was thinking that but am unsure what + I need. Think it is around +20 to sit nicely in the guards of a 34 GTR

im so happy with these matte black rpfs, and for unsprung weight reasons aswell, there super light, only 7kgs!!!!! Forged BBS LMS which are forged are 12kgs in the same size!

bend and remove.... bend and remove ;)

pic?

I'm thinking of a set of matte black RPF01 in 18 x 9.5 +12 for the evo

Hey guys,

Was looking at getting some: Rota GRIDR 18 x 9.5, 5x114.3, +20 Absolute Green

To put on my '99 R34 GTT, It's currently lowered with stocks wheels still on it, doesn't have a camber kit as far as I'm aware. Anyone know how hard/easy it will be to get these to fit? Camber kit or rolling guards should be fine? Or just spend the money now and get a camber kit right away.

Cheers, Zac

Those rims will fit but you will need to roll guards n do some liner work.

Otherwise it all also depends on how much camber you do end up running as well as tyre size.

As far as camber kits go, they are only needed to reduce camber after lowering the car (essentially you can have heaps of camber from the stock arms if ur car is lowered, it is getting less than 1-1.5 degrees that is the problem once it is lowered). Obviously this isnt going to help the rims fitting as taking camber out puts the tyres closer to the wheel arch that is the limiting factor in actually fitting big rims with lower offset.

Any suggestion for tyre size? Its daily driven for now. So pretty much i'd just be looking at rolling the guards abit and giving it abit more camber, i love camber but don't want huge amounts as its daily driven,

stretch is against my religion. But a 235 should see you right.

Otherwise camber is also a bad thing in a street driven daily unless you dont mind paying the $ that it costs in how much quicker you chew ur tyres out because of said camber.. but around 1 degree on the rear should see the rims n tyres fitting as well as minimal tyre wear from it.

    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
    • Do you have some data like fuel pressure? It's really hard to say if you're still fighting a fuel system issue at this point. Could be something weird like the FPCM dipping out.
    • Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense).  So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
    • Something else I have been faffing with while the car was off the road is making the AC work. Assuming the car isn't at a thermal limit the idea of having AC while waiting in line to go on track sounds delightful. I have actually been lugging around the weight of the entire system since 2018 when the RB25NEO went in without it working at all.  The main reason was in the first few events before I got around to re-gassing it the rubber hose that runs under the manifold had the factory heat wrap/sleeve fail resulting in this: ~2 years ago I purchased a complete used R32 AC line set but when I finally went to install it the line i needed was different where the expansion section is I found a local place that was able to replace the rubber section and re-crimp. They also added some modern heat sleeve to the hose Tight fit but fingers crossed this is the last physical piece of the puzzle needed
