blind_elk
Same engine as the Z31 (early 300ZX). I think some of the Z32s had it also, before going to the VG30DETT. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84218-vg30det/#findComment-1524683 Share on other sites
Bass Junky
They were also supplied in 90's models Cimas, Cedrics etc an are a pretty high tech motor. That guy has spent a lot of time and effort on the car thats for sure. CEF11E
I have spent a bit of time on VG engines. I had a maxima with a VG30DE and nitrous oxide. + tuning. It put out 264FWHP It was a great engine and they rev very freely. also quite strong. I currently have a VG20det in my gloria and it is a fantastic engine. it responds to mods very well and revs to 8 freely. cant say anything bad about the VG series at all. but trust me, you dont want to rebuild one!!! I have seen/been in a VG30det in a Cima putting out 304 rwkw with a bigger turbo and injectors exhaust and cooler. It sounded tough and had enough torque to snap your neck! Rezz
cant say anything bad about the VG series at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What about the VG30ET? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84218-vg30det/#findComment-1526051 Share on other sites
SteveL
*VG30DETT 5 speed - Z32 300ZX, VERY strong gearbox, similar to R33 RB25DET gearbox internally <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd be interested to know how this was done.....the VG30DETT 5-speed has some design features that make it _very_ difficult to fit to any vehicle other than a Z32. For example the starter motor mount is unique and would definately require considerable massageing of an R31 firewall and trans tunnel to make it fit. Not saying it can't be done, just curious to know how. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84218-vg30det/#findComment-1526213 Share on other sites
BHDave
What about the VG30ET? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> vg20e. I pity all the gloria owners who got stuck with this lump almost as mush as the r32 owners that got stuck with the CA18i Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/84218-vg30det/#findComment-1526385 Share on other sites
