Hi SK,

Your inbox is full again :-)

I just wanted confirmation that you recieved the $543 for;

BNF27Z Front stabiliser bar Adj $219.00

BNR26XZ Rear stabiliser bar Adj $219.00

KCA349 Rear Subframe alignment kit $105.00

tnx

Can anyone tell me what the ride height is from center of wheel to the wheel arch for front and back with this kit please?

Customary setting is 355 front 345 rear. You can change them to be different if you really want, but it works best at those heights.

Just make sure the bump stops are trimmed correctly.

Oh nice, same as my current tein's. My new gtr with stock suspension appears to handle better than my worked gtr with tein suspension so I want something that handles better than tein but doesn't lose the current stance it has.

Ive got a set of KCA439 rear subframe bushes... I'm looking at making the subframe bushes redundant as they are shagged out but i also want better rear traction... Should have around 600rwhp soon

Now i want to set them at "Maximum traction" but this is only classified as "reduced" rear mount compliance which "All round performance" is "minimal" compliance.

What would be the better setting?!? Im assuming "Maximum Traction" will still use the front 2 bushes more than "All round performance"?

Well I finally got the shocks, springs and front swaybar in yesterday. Then I started bucketing down rain so we knocked off (were working outside dammit). Will drop in the rear bar and subframe bushes at the weekend, then tee up with Fulcrum to do the rest of the bushes and wheel alignment.

Took the car for a good spin this afternoon and was mightily impressed. Even with the standard camber and castor settings and the stock rear bar this kit is good. Damned good. We have some gnarly roads in my neck of the woods as the local council just keeps putting patches on patches. Some of the bumps have been here for twenty years. No kidding. The Bilsteins cope effortlessly with both multiple small ripples and big bumps. Ride is firm but not nasty. I highly recommend this kit to anyone trying to make up their mind.

One thing to watch out for when ordering for a GTS4 is to check your rear shocks. My car had the rear suspension uprights changed to GTR units at some point in its life, which caused some headaches for both me and Gary as I wasn't aware of this when I ordered my kit. GTS4's usually use GTS-t shocks at the rear. So, do yourself and Gary a favour and have a look if you're not sure about your car. The standard GTS4 has rear shocks with an eye at the bottom and the GTR ones have a fork on them. Apparently some guys change the uprights because there's a greater range of stuff for GTR's. If yours have been changed you just get the GTR kit instead of the GTS4 kit.

As per the PM, there is no mix up, you got exactly what I ordered and it is correct.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
