EDIT: Deleted. I suggest everyone calm down, take a chill pill - and remove any mention of anything they think would be best kept to themselves, and for the next cruise - keep their head about them, and the reputation of SAU in their mind at all times...

yes it was completely dry

DAMMITTTTTT

i probably would have come anyway and said stuff the assignment (still doing it) but who cares maybe next time.

and seeing that all this illegal hooning, robberies and resulting politics are going on maybe it was best to miss it :(

Ummm... This was supposed to be a photo thread of a day that I thought was really fun.

Did all this crap come up after the same cruise last year? If so, thank God I didn't go. If this is going to happen after every cruise then I don't think I want to cruise with you people anymore.

Well I was there in the white R32 GTR with ACT plates, and had a pretty good cruise... it was very similar to last years. Its a public road, people are going to get seperated, and people are going to want to go for spirited driving... thats why there are the regroup points to make sure everyone arrives ok.

The only problem I had was with one certain car who made a point of overtaking me for god knows what reason, then slowing right down and splitting the group into two... and then when an overtaking lane came up and I went to pass, seemed to speed up to try and keep up/stop me... by the way mate, your car is blowing shitloads of blue smoke (oil)when on boost, you should get it checked out (white R33 GTSt, possibly with Veilside bits on it...)

And my apologies for blowing smoke on any cars behind me, shes running a bit rich and needs a tune :)

Anymore pics people? did anyone get any pics of my car? The day was pretty good.

Wilch...No one complained last year that i know of, it was a great day, and all the other cruises i've been on were sweet too. I hope a couple of negative comments don't discourage anyone from coming on more cruises.

Guys as you know, this is a public forum and SAU NSW is a official club with CAMS backing and all.

Those who have volunteered to run the committe can be held personally responsible for anything that goes wrong at an event. Imagine the damage done to the club's public image if a car had left the road travelling over the speed limit (not to mention the driver of the car).

I couldn't make the cruise, but please keep in mind we ran under the rules of CAMS insurance and regulations and that includes sticking to the speed limit.

My suggestion for what it is worth is that....those who might have posted suggesting they went quicker than they should have....please edit your posts....and if you want to discuss things like this please do them inside the private, members forum.

Anyway, that aside, I hope everyone enjoyed the cruise and had a great day out.....and...

PICSORBAN!

sorry to bring this up again but its the last time ill talk bout it.

i just wanted to clear things up a little as alot of ppl seem to have jumped to a conclusion about it all.

'That' speed, was done when i was over taking another car on the rd.. i had already comited to over taking the car when i saw another coming down the road towards me. if i had stayed at the speed i was going, i wouldnt be talking to any of you right now, and would proberly be ina body bag. ya proberly thinking that i should have slowed down and just gorn back in behind the car, but thats a little hard when the car that was behind me had already filled that gap, yes i did check, so the only other way to get out of the way of the car coming head on was to speed up and get around the car that i was passing, and thats when that top speed was proberly done.

i was at the back of the pack for pritty much the entire cruise, i was holding other up as well, as i had many ppl pass me (hence y i was at the back most of the time).

like ffs, im not a hoon, ive never been pulled over, fined, or even had a cop question me about my car. i wana stay alive so i dont go speeding around at crazy speeds or being an idiot, and if ppl are gona have goes at me for this.. well i guess im not wanted here.

RANICX u drive like a grammy....hehehhehehe dude dont worry mate...u drive and handle ur car well... u know ur limited in those corner...so that was good...... i was behind u most of the time..we were keeping to the speed limitd ;):):D but cant believe we were still so behind...but i have to say it was a fun allround cruise..i love the long drive...a bit of speed + abit of corner= putty road

good to see you sydney guy's up to the hunter.

ranicx make your mind up mate!! one post said you didnt know when this speed was done (which tells us that you where probably speeding alot. does it not??) and now your using it as a excuse for over taking a car which was probably unnecessary. not that i give a shit but it's one way or the other.

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
