Ok, to keep forum a bit more alive or more entertain, i'm starting to ask/collect places that you guys go for camping, how far? Whats so good about it? Can you fish there? Lit fire? More to the wild or too comercialise....?

Personally me and my mates always go camping when its' the end of the year time. After a year of hard working, parties ;), clubbing......ect we seek for nature's quiteness, its beauty, relaxation ( well not really when we go hiking like soldier just to see who gets to the top first :) )

Places that i've been to are ofcourse WILSON PROMT ( i found it to be too comercialise ), THE GRAMPIAN ( spelling ), another one which i forgot, its just cross Adel border and it has blue lake...famous for Lobsters......

Anyway, we havn't decide where to go this year yet so i start this thread up to get some ideas of everyone, start typing guys.

OH and pictures too, you know some crazy photos that you took at the camp sites, with your mates.....the girls next door...funny ones, wierd ones.......

i havent been camping in a while no one to go with any more

but i would have to say places like

lil water loo and lake taliecarn (dont no how to spell ) there my two fav

but any where in the prom is nice sept for ovaron i think it was called f**king to many sand flys

as for the lake place you can have fires there and it its always empty mybe a nother tent or two but never packed but mind you it is a 6 hour walk of the top of my head to get there but you can have fires go fishing what ever very nice place

personally i love to go camping on the murray.

the goulburn river is also good. Have been up to yea a few times, but didnt catch much fish (probably wrong bait / gear).

I love apollo bay (although i was camping at a caravan park at the time)

Yeah - the Murray kicks ass.

3hrs - warm weather - sandy beaches - no-one around.

I remember going up there with the girlie a few years ago.

We were there for 5-days and didn't see another soul, nor wear a stitch of clothing all week :D

we spent a weekend up in cahuna on the murray earlier this year.

took up a mates ski boat and camped in a caravan park there, did a bit of fishing and skiing, in between the occasional beverage.

not quite real camping, but the river and weather was awesome.

I'll even keep my pants on.

"I'd like to believe that this time, I really would"

haha

We go shooting/camping at a friends property in a place called Hay (NSW). About 5 hours from everywhere. Awesome to have a bit of a break from the big smoke.

They have a bit of a saying on the drive there, it doesn't matter if you fall asleep behind the wheel, you'll run out of petrol before you hit anything...

ahahha thats mad

I'll even keep my pants on.

whats the point of going then? lol

id have 2 say hay is definately a good place to go camping around easter time, not too hot then. the murrimbidgee river usually has good fish at that time of yr

as for the murray its flowing at almost full capacity. lake hume here in albury is actually full for once.

plenty of good places to go along the murray n even upstream of here is good for fishing/camping

If you dont mind a bit of a hike go to lake Tali Karng, it's in the alpine ranges with some really good day hikes around the lake itself... I reckon it's a top destination.clicky>>>Tali Karng google it...many pics n pages... or if you dont mind a few peeps about the wilsons prom>Mt oberon>sealers cove hikes ect r good.. but being only allowed to stay one night per camp site sucks ass.

my fav place is the Alpine National Forest just past Licola, which is a bit up from Sale...

the river has fish, you can light fires with plenty of wood available and also go hiking up the mountains..

it gets VERY cold in winter, you gotto go with snow gear, snow is literally several kms up the road...

best thing is it isnt that commercialised, especially in winter which happens to be my fav time for camping..

hey Khoa

A good place to go camping, I went earlier this year- was to Cape Liptrap which is reallly really far south in a desolate National park near the beach. Its so quiet and peaceful, nice beach, nice campsite which are sectioned off by heavy scrub, so you cant really see anyone else.

Its about a 2 1/2 hour drive, roads are totally empty and theres a 8 km gravel track to get the campsite. Plenty of wildlife when we went, Foxes, rabbits, Wombats, Koalas (hey you wont be alone :)), even maybe black panthers!!!

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
