MearCat
After selling my Series 1 R33 NA, I'm now trying to figure out what I'll upgrade to. My budget is $20K and intend to import a car through a broker (Presitge/J-Spec etc etc) I was initially going to go for a 1997 R33 Gts-t Coupe but have since found that 1998 R34 GT-T sedans (the R34 coupes are way over my budget) go for around the same price (with about 50,000km). Whatever I import, it will only have some minor (if any) mods. I like the shape of the R33, but the updated R34 shape is growing on me as well. I need some comments - pros & cons of going either way - mechanicals and asthetics. Also - are R34 Sedans available in manual? noise
Can I just ask why you would import through an australian broker? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/91773-r33-coupe-or-r34-sedan/#findComment-1654078 Share on other sites
MearCat
Can I just ask why you would import through an australian broker? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've done it with my old R33 and I had a extremely good experience that way, so I think I'll stick to that method. Actually I'm not going to go thorugh a broker as such. A local compliance workshop does the importing and compliance and will be doing it through them. predator
the R34 sedans are a great bargain if u ask me at the moment.. even if you do have to spend a couple of $k more... to me they don't look too bad really.. same appointments, etc as the coupe - just $10k less! ebola
Me? I much prefer 4 doors. looks almost as nice, and so much more practical. Yes, I have to consider passengers. and as a largley unnoticed bonus, the front doors arn't quite as long, so you don't need so much space to get out. Now, if only there was a way to apply a shopping trolley forcefield, I'd be set --ebola --It's not how much power your engine produces, its how much of it gets transferred to the road. Rj34GTT
How much are the 34 sedans worth? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> depends if its the turbo on non. i picked my 4 door Gt-t for $28 G'z Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/91773-r33-coupe-or-r34-sedan/#findComment-1655580 Share on other sites
BL01
Both are great cars. Depending on whether you need the extra space or not. R34s have the Neo 6 although it is still similiar with the RB25DET but it is newer nevertheless IMO. DennisRB30: I can get you R34 GTT sedans at a cheaper price than $28k No offence Rj34GTT. It all depends on the mods and condition of the vehicle. Modena
Ive seen R34 4 door sedans GTT (yes turbo) go for 18-21 grand on J Spec site, add another 1-2 grand for tyres and other hidden costs and you have pretty much a low 20s cheap skyline, the only catch is they are not manual. 1998 Nissan Skyline GT-T sedan 2.5L turbo Tiptronic Black 36,000 km's No major accident history Power steering Power windows Air conditioner ABS brakes Dual air-bags Sunroof Keyless entry CD player Scrape on passenger door Auction grade 4, good condition ... 975,000 yen FOB .. around $20,900 landed AND complied http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=4349 http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=4341 http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=4339 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/91773-r33-coupe-or-r34-sedan/#findComment-1657499 Share on other sites
n15m0
yes go 4 doors definately on a budget of low 20s you definately only find tiptronic versions...manuals will set you back another couple of grand. I got mine just over 6 months ago for 32k from a dealer but was prepared to pay extra coz it came with sunroof, factory kit, xenons, 99 model and had 30+ks on it only. Saying that I think ill "go" for a sedan too... they are so much "better"...
