hahah lol at this thread now, any bets on how long till mods shut it down seeing as most of it has nothing to do with forced induction??!

but hey, while we're talking... one thing i considered when i first got the GTR was to put my old GTS series 1 spoiler on it, and get a GTS25T sticker for the bootlid, and ditch the GTR badge, im sure it would be taken as a GTS with the GTR guards and kit etc, and shock a lot of ppl when it blows them off the line :D

curious as to the proffesion of jopjop also!

Ok Ok...

Wow, Did not expect this...

1..I dont want a fancy house, my house is quite fine thank you very much.. My uncle use to own it from built and I love it..

2..I work very hard, sometimes too hard, 10 to 16 hours a day.. I am a computer programmer by day and after that I sell Japanese video games for dreamcast ,ps2 gamecube etc..

3..I am not a bragger, as you said , my house is nothing flash, so that shows im not

4..I LOVE CARS, im 31 now, and have OWNED 63 cars so far, lost heaps on them, but have had fun doing so. There is a purple R33 GTS-T I used to own, made it into a GTR just not the motor.. It had number plates GZILLA, It was a 95 model, I sold that car for a profit.. so It cant be that bad to do this stuff.

5..I HATE Ferrari. I love Lambos, but why have one, its not for street its for someone to put in the garage and sit there,, I love Jap cars, and 1 other thats, BMW

6..Its 5am at the moment, sorry for any mistakes....

7..When I done this conversion, I went to nissan (as I know heaps of people in Nissan) and worked out an outline of what I wanted to do, after doing all the work myself nissan australia said nissan japan wanted to know why a whole list of gtr parts were used, nissan took heaps of photos of my gtt and sent them over to nissan japan, they said that my conversion was fantastic, and said nothing of the badges..

8..lastly I cannot sell my R34, I brought it Brand new, and its been so good to me, I will keep going anolg.

Now instead of saying take the badge of noone has asked th most the questions nissan japan could not even work out..

IE.... How do the seats bolt it? as the GTT has a completly diff floor pan.. Ill tell you, Change it, oh yes I used to be a panel beater and spray painter.

How can the MFD screen work? injectors are diff voltage, MDF cant read it? Throttle poss if Diff, etc etc.. It took a lot of man hours.. I was them with a multi meter, and no workshop man.. It was no easy task, but everything works, just not g-meter.

and no one see the pain of rad support changeing, and you cant just change the rear quartets, you have to do the inners as well

FOr the record, My car is quickier then a stock GTR R34 so, I will pass for one, as comments about VL's dragging me, witch also I have lost my licence 5 times, and even now have 3 months to go, so I dont drag. and I people dont drag me anyway, its them saying " man that is the best gtr ive seen..... or the best one is an RX7 ser 6 with me next too him at the lights, lights go greeen he talks off like a bullet and blows an apex seal in 30 meters,, I pass at normal speed..

Well Ive said what I want to say. Thank you for your time

Relax mate. I know you might be pissed off with the responses you got, but I wasn't criticising your work, just pointing out this has been done (and documented) before. For example (and so people searching might find something useful):

Still, its nice to see someone in Australia has done it (IIRC, its been done in the UK and HK as well as JP). I might give you a buzz some time if I get stuck doing mine :P

when have i ever claimed it to be a gtr or something it isn't? NEVER!

Car(s): GTR wagon, VS Berlina

JOP - I say well done to you.

you've accomplished alot in the 31 years you've been around.

You'll obviously go ahead with engine, gearbox and driveline mods soon enough, when you have the right funding.

all the best to you mate..

let the people judge all they want.

after all, they are just a bunch of people behind monitors connected to the interweb who feel like they need to let others know of their hatred for gtr badges on non gtr's.

RRR32_GoDzIlLa thats a lot of sarcasm (take it to ns.com) for someone whos posted on here only 17 times! You may or may not have huge power with your cars, either way that doesnt make you a good driver. And im sure if jopjop wanted to, he could have as much power as he wanted, he obviously isnt limited by his wallet.

hey jop, good response up there, hehe

might i suggest you try to get hold of a later model GTR motor, such as an r33 one, as opposed to a r32 one? Just as your going to so much trouble, you may as well get the slightly better and newer motor in there. That is unles you were planning to rebuild it first anyway..

i felt the sarcasm was necessary

i dont have huge power but i don't boast that i do, so i was saying if he wanted to say that he blows away gtrs he should explain how. as i have a lot of respect for the 34 gtr's and wouldnt say that and i have it over them. the car is a great package and most people who can afford to buy a 34gtr could prob afford to do some minor mods to bump up its output.

this thread has deffinately got out of control....

jopjop mate id like to say sorry dude, some of these people think that their comments are cool!!!

anyways, as for wat mods to do next, i rekon go for the rb26dett, get urself a 33gtr engine, and spend the money on rebuilding that with a nice set of say N1 turbo's and wack that in... after all u have such a clean and remarkable 34GTR look alike y not have a little bit of GTR power behind it...

i noticed you said you own the GTR outright...you dont coz theres a little plate that says ECR34 on the firewall;)secondly....i have seen this car and looks to be a nice job(looking at it on the side of the road)And can i ask why you changed the rad support?I had a huge stack in mine and i put a 34 4 Door front on mine and all i had to change was the lower tie barand the chassis rails....and to those who said it cant become 4WD think again....change the floor pan and the chassis rails and its there...the front coil supports are the same......you have done a nice job and i see why your jumping on the defencive...however theres no need to be so cocky ie "questions that nissan cant even answer" there are alot of us that have studied our own car right down to the last nut bolt screw and wire.....

    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
    • The video for the servicing and fuel filter change can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44 One of the main jobs I wanted to do before the car officially went on the road, was to remove the awful looking blue silicone hoses. There's nothing wrong with having coloured silicone hoses, but I realise as I'm getting older I prefer monotone engine bays with a splash of colour on the engine cover(s). I cover this in a lot more detail in the Youtube video, so unfortunately there's limited photos of the process. The intercooler, upper radiator, boost vacuum and upper breather hoses were all changed to black silicone with mikalor clamps. The only blue left is a blanking cap at the back of the inlet manifold and the GReddy pulleys (which will be replaced for stock when the cambelt gets replaced) While the intercooler pipes were off I gave them a quick clean/polish too A before photo I do have a replacement air filter on its way. Fuse box covers were painted blue, they're now satin black Another job on the list while the bumper was off, is to add some mesh https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737966256_99b28bfa30_c.jpg[/img] I was hoping to use some thin wire to secure it, but it seems I've misplaced it and the wire I had was too thick to twist easily. I ended up using cable ties for the time being https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131882_c2b7989dcc_c.jpg[/img] Was pleasant to see this https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131627_8b2aab13b3_c.jpg[/img] The last thing to do was to fix the front grill and re-mesh that to match but I ran out of time The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4FsF6tgizE&t=23s
