what sorta power you got? had a dyno run?

This will be my first, so if I can get 13.3 I'll be grateful  :D

dan_the_man: can the helmet be open faced or does it have to be enclosed?

310ps @ all 4 wheels on 1.0 bar of boost. Has a mines rom though (in the standard ecu), and it's starting to become very obvious that it does not suit the aussie climate at all  I raced a completely stock R32 GTR wed night, he couldn't get out of the 14's, I did a pretty lousy launch and he doesn't launch at all, I was on low boost (0.75bar) did a 14.0 he did a 14.5 and managed to beat me past the finish line. I had him until 3rd then I dunno wtf happened but he just reeled me in and it was a really close battle over the line!! My best time on low boost is a 13.7...

But yeah....stuff like that....My car is pretty stock, has a GReddy pipe kit (in the engine bay), 3" exhaust with hiflow cat and 3.5" from the cat back....Mechanical 1.5 way lsd in the rear...and a boost controller. I didn't think it was a splendid time for the car....I was chasing a high 12, or atleast a 13 flat. As soon as the night set in and it started to get chilly, it just retarded more and more every run I had to put the boost right down, 0.8 bar was the highest I could run without it over fuelling :P

It is set to run a little rich at the top anyway, because the engine was rebuilt earlier in the year and it was a bit of a safety measure to make sure I didn't do any damage. Oh yeah my highest mph was 102.(???)

Topaz - it can be open faced but has to meet Australian Safety standards (AS 1698, Snell SA90, BS6658-85) - so no yellow stack hats.

Also - keep it on topic guys. We dont want to have to sift though conversation about dyno runs to find out who actually wants to come.

Hey we only need one more sucker to join :P

BTW, I do mean 1 as you forgot to add Rhianne I beleive

seen as though we should have the 20 we need early this week, should a date be organised?, I am guessing also that it will be a Sunday

Woop ass wednesdays are on.... wednesdays :P

After Christmas would be easiest as alot of people are too busy before Christmas. This also gives us enough time to get a definate booking at the motorplex.

Dan

:P I wish i'm stayin in aussie for those few mths. Oh wells. Anyway, just to check for future use. When u mean Australian Safety standards (AS 1698, Snell SA90, BS6658-85). I've got a helmet back in SG that i use for go karting. It's a 1/2 face helmet that is approved for use as a motor cycle helmet. Brand is hyper racing i beleive. How do i check if it meets Australian Safety Standards?
Our own lane = a lane out the back we line up in before going to drag. We come up against anyone.

No that means we will racing each other as they let a 1 of the 6 lanes through at a time usually getting only one run before its the next lanes turn.

How is this different to a normal Wednesday night?

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
