maaaan... black guys have no chance of showing up in photos with your polarised filter/high shutter speed. Being a fellow homie g of gangsta complexion I thought you of all people would have known this.

i fixed the levels

i could make you white if you want

try using "curves" instead of "levels" on photoshop, it allows you alter the tonality of the image, which sometimes has good effects on dark spots while still preseving the detail (and not making it look overexposed).

and no, I don't want a micheal jackson job. :P besides... I seem to be one of the few people that didn't get sunburnt on the day.

oh really. i'll have to give that a go for the skidpan shots then

levels is easier to do quickly, so i figured thats the best way to go through heaps of them quickly

Now that is a shot, should be sold back to Ford B)

Was impressed with the Falcon and the power :)

And no probs Mav, any time :)

Man we need some decent emoticons!

lmao monkey

man i cant wait for the next one cause my 32 should be ready by then.... will probably do the whole weekend thing or tow the car up on the day cause i dont think i could handle driving 2.5 hours in a car with a loud exhaust and no sound deadning.

Nate - i checked the footage u took... u only took like 7mins and from that 7mins about 6 mins is poo :D

ive got video of every car that did the long wang from the first chicane... sort of started off poo then got better as the day went on, also getting a shot from the 1st chicane of drivers wanging down the back straight... i'll make a quick edit and put it up tomorrow. Even got James's mum having a go around the long wang :)

was nice too see so many different cars out there too... go the Pug and GTi! and HAHAHA @ Craig embarrasing so many turbo jap cars in his korean wagon with nothing but wheels, king springs and a silver exhaust tip :)

Thanx to all the skyline girls and guys for another fantastic weekend. I'm still having trouble deciding what was more fun.....the skidpan or the night out in Shep :) . I've never seen so many big hats in a nightclub :):D

I'm so sunburnt :D My GF (in the Pug) had a awesome time, and we will both be there for the next one!!

Thanx B)

Another awesome Wang weekend. People think I have lost my mind as I randomly break out chuckling as I get yet another flashback!!!! We ruled Shep once again. Special thanks to Snowie for the use of the wagon. Unbelieveable generosity. Owe you big time. It made my weekend. Great effort by all the organisers and volunteers on the day. Awesome drive by Scotsman who looks like the man to beat anf the king of the long wang!!!! I dont think anybody could question the value of these days. And Saturday night was mental!! Brisby, next time I see you I am cutting you open to see what you are actually made of. You are not flesh and blood. No human body can take that kind of punishment!!! You are an inspiration!!! Thanks to all for making it such a memorable weekend!!!

Yello4 have footage of your other half on the long wang... will cut up some of the footage and upload it tomorrow.

For those who think this sounds like fun and just want to get to know how these things run but dont want to get out on the track just yet then volunteering is the way to go. I had a ball even tho it looks boring its not. you have the best view in the house. Just take some sunblock and a deck chair :D

Well everyone the event is done and dusted and was a total success.

Big thanks to everyone that came along and also for coming along with the right attitude. These days are about having fun rather than anything serious and it seemed from what I saw that everyone was having a ball.

But I have to give a special mention to all the guys that helped out on the day. Without you guys these events don't run so it makes you guys the single most important people on the day. And its not just the officals but also the guys cooking the BBQ, and even everyone taking the pictures and video footage so we can all enjoy the event all over again.

So big thanks to you all. I hope at some stage you all also got at least a passenger run with someone if you wanted it.

Also - both sets of members from each club needed to be congratulated on the manner in which you mixed and socialized together. There wasn't any segrigation and it helps us to encourge to do more future events involving both clubs. Infact I believe some of the clubs committee were really working on building intra-club relations..... :D

But anyways - I'll get the results tablulated and posted as soon as I can.

Thanks again to everyone.

Cheers.

Yeah, thanks to all who were there and helped, it was an awesome day.

And, I know it's been siad before, and I'll say it again..... For those who were debating whether to come or drive or not, well, YOU MISSED OUT BIG TIME.

PS. If anybody has some footage of me doing Pete's revenge the second time, please let me have it!!!!

BASS OUT

i think we need a sub category of SAU VIC for the SAU VIC MEDIA CREW :D

We need more people with video equipment to setup camp along different parts of the tracks... like im talking 8 people.

So we can make a decent DVD.

What an awesome weekend!

Congratualtions to all competetitors! We hope you had a great time.

To all the volunteers and organisers, a job well done. Most people don't understand how much time and effort go into preparing for something like this. The committee has worked damn hard to make this event happen and I think we should all take the time to thank the motorsport reps for their efforts. Also, special thanks to the BBQ people and those who gave their time to make this a smooth running event. Great job people!

A complete success by the looks of it. It can only get better from here. With more experience, things will run even smoother next time.

Taco Bills and the Yahoo Bar went off in a way Shep has never seen before!

Top weekend all! Can't wait for the next one!!

man i tell ya what... that 1st chicane on the long wang was a bit hairy at time for some people... it was setup so ur exiting towards a tree :D some of the guys that were hitting that chicane hard were going off towards it...

feel sorry for poor Frunk on the 3rd one tho... so many people hit the last chicane and half the time took the cones with them so he had to run halfway up the straight in jeans in the sun chasing cones haha

I had an awesome day! thanks to everyone involved, it was a huge success! All three 'tracks' were fantastic and i especially loved the slalom (i cant get over hitting the same cone three times in the final :D ) ah well.. next time.

thanks again to everyone and see you all at the next one!

Yeah I was certainly kept busy all day(it was mainly the Subies) with all the cones being hit. But on the other hand it was worth it to see the action up on that corner. The way it was the top corner was blocked from veiw from nearly everyone but me, so I got to be the only witness to some big slides and even bigger lock ups. And the poor folk at Taco Bills - I wonder how many of them are having a sickie or 2 this week

Yep, that was me.

Will most probably not be going to Summernats '06, as there is another event in Phillip Island, at the same time :).

But the committee has lightly discussed the idea of holding a National cruise/event in Canberra.  Hopefully it will come together and various states will participate.

wow, that would be an awsome time. would love to see soo many skylines cruising around this fine fine (no really, its not that abd :D) town.

discuss more :)

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
