you going for an internal gate or an external ?

I think the Plazmaman one might fit the 34s.....as it uses the standard runners.

Just need to find out of the runners are the same on 34s are they are for 33s.

Internal gate, HKS GT2835 Pro-S. Should tun nicely on the RB25 and be responsive enough to use on the track :D

Yeah I've seen the plenum kits sold by unique autosports.. but they are more expensive at $1500 than the GReddy ones! Plus they use the existing runners whereas the Greddy replaces the whole lot. For $1500 i could think of better things to spend it on.

Yeah thats the turbo Ive had my eye on for awhile....but im now weighing up the costs on getting the R version and getting a manifold and wastegate to suit.

HKS do kits for R32/33/34 2WD but can't find details of turbine housing ARR .

Nengun I think are advertising kits for RB's but won't let me in with Yahoo E mail .

The HKS USA site shows an SR20DET doing 300.6 TQ and Hp at the treads which sounds about the go . Yeah I know another SR 2L ally 4 .

Im outa here guys the trouble n strife and th tin lids are out and home brew awaits !

Chow for now , A .

I think your tuner liked my turbo :D

I'd expect on a stock RB25 it wouldn't make full mumbo till at least 5k-5500rpm. Set of cams and cam timing may help to bring it up a bit quicker. Mine made 1 bar 4000-4500rpm on a built 26.

My tuner said he would be able to get one to start boosting as low as 3500rpm.

yeah, start making boost @ 3500... meaning 1psi.

You couldnt see anthing moderate 15psi+ till around the 5000rpm mark, give or take a couple rpm

Making boost and actually going somewhere are two different things.

You'll also be limited by the higher comp of the NEO

  • 3 weeks later...

the larger the cams, the later the boost comes on but will give better flow (and power) once boost does come up.

If you want boost to come on earlier, try the smallest turbing AR that is available, port the head, and get the best flowing exhaust you can find - but definately not larger cams.

Sorry guys, but going back to the injector discussion on page 2, would GTR injectors be a good option for the 250-270rwkw range? They are top feed so they should fit sreight into the NEO correct? I have similar power goals in mind (270rwkw max) and was wondering if GTR injectors are a viable option for my power goal, as they flow 440cc. They can be bought for around $350 here in NZ, MUCH cheaper than the big name brands.

I'm also in the game for a turbo upgrade this year... only thing holding me back now is a reliable and relatively cost-effective ECU option for the auto transmission

Once that is sorted then I guess the GT-RS is a good option (or at least something similiar).

GCG Hi-Flow option seems to get a good wrap around here as well...

Hi Guys

I also have a R34 NEO, great thread on the turbo upgrade which I hope to do it in the near future. Need the $$$ first, working on the exterior mods atm. Btw, do we have to change the CPU as well if upgraded turbo?

Yes I can see that  that's a mighty fine looking GT-R badge you have there... nice GTT though

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
