standard is a low mount, but you can go high mount with the whole external wastgate thing but low is good looks kinda more stock if you change turbos they still stay in the same location, as for the ebay high and low manifolds they sean to be pretty crappy quality and dont line up real well with motor and turbo ,a few guys here have used a hish mount and lots of modfications were needed to make it fit, and the stock one presuming you staying with a low mount turbo setup is good for power over 300kw maybe more , i one did see som usa made ones one there and looked of good quaility very similer to the trust one.

moral of the story ,stickwit what ya got :)

I got a xs power lowmount manifold and it was a fairly straight forward to fit.

It changed the note of the engine a little (little smoother) but I dint really notice any power increase to be hournest.

I recon stick with your stock one and if you rewqire more flow get the stock one flowed etc.

But the stock one looks ugly

so?

and I do believe that there is a potential power difference between hight-mount and low-mount turbos.

hight mount can make more power.

because the speed of the exhaust flow is porportional to the temperature, and there is less time for exhaust heat to bleed out of the manifold on a top mount.

Thats the theory. Though I dont think it makes a difference on any sane (or even semi-sane) budget.

I also THINK that a high mount turbo gives better airflow? or is easier to keep cool or something...

Because the turbo is so far away from the head it does give the engine a lower running temp which will allow you to run more advance timing which means extra power yes

So a high mount would allow for a more agressive tune... Thats what I was told =)

more or less yes!

i have an xs power one and its ss..its gusseted with webs and supports from all runners and the exhaust flange is also the same..pretty bloudy good for a cheap manifold..only prob was the holes didnt line up..i had to die grind the bitches out to suit.

They reckon manifolds made from steam pipe are better...which is true..cause ss does get brittle after it is exposed to too much heat. where a high tensile pipe like chromemoly would never crack or break. but usually costs an arm and a leg.

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
