Ice Performance just finished dyno tuning my GTR tonight and I am very happy with the result. They actually hit a peak of 365rwkw,but toned it down to a safer 351.9 rwkw.

The car has

HKS 2530's

HKS dumps

HKS 264/264 cams

Z32 afm

Tomei pump

Nismo 600cc inj

Power FC

HKS ebc

HKS super dragger exhaust

Trust cooler

Arias forged pistons

This was done using Boost98 E10 fuel,if Extreme100 was available in more servos I would have used that.

Nice result. Was talking to G about it before.

Love the rocker cover pics... G has been raving about the colour that Nick did em... it sure does look farking brilliant!

Gerald has claimed the color, its called "ICE G GREY"

In 4th gear its making

5 psi @ 3000rpm

10 psi @ 3800rpm

15 psi @ 4100rpm

20 psi @ 4500rpm

22 psi @ 4700rpm

It makes over 300rwkw from 4800rpm,still making 350rwkw + at 7500rpm,extremely flexible on the steet.

The only other mod I want to make is to fit HKS exhaust manifolds, expensive labour wise for a small overall gain, but response should be even better.

M&M nice work and nice result for such low lift cams. I can personally say the HKS manifolds are the shit (awesome construction quality) and can i ask did you play with cam timing and if so what did you find to work the best.

ps nice engine bay

I dont have an adjustable cam gear on the inlet side, only the exhaust.I was going to ask on here what sort of results people have got with this setup, which should be fairly common, with cam timing adjustments. We have left it alone at the moment, maybe in the future.

well i would most definitely put an adjustable cam gear for the inlet on the wish list and you can really adjust the sort of power you get and quiet offen (most chaces increase out right hp) with adjustment of the cam gears. the inlet tends to adjust how early the power will be made ie a little advance can quiet offen bring the whole power curve on earlier and the exhaust advance can offen give a bit better top end hp. I stress every motor is different but i have not seen a setup (rb26) not responce to cam timing in some fashion its offen only other factures that limit the gains that can be had for cam timing ie the turbos reached peak efficience etc

I really thought most of the benefits with adj cam gears was with stock cams.I would have guessed that HKS cams would work best straight up,or that gains would be minimal.Anyone have dyno figures of gains or do I have to be the guinea pig?

dude your no guinea pig i have worked the cams on like 6 different rb26 all have responded to timing some a little some a lot. The first of which was my own awhile back

the least gained was still around 30rwhp with less than half the timing i had to put in mine. Each motor is different and dont always think that a little cam timing is different you may just be adjusting the cams to the correct relationship to crank as manufacturing tolerances can cause differences in this (we are talking small) but considering that 2 deg of crank timing (=1 deg of cam timing) gave me 30rwhp a small difference can be of great benefit Yes?

    • Hi, i’m making a rb25det coil loom for Vag short coil. Can anybody tell me which Ecu signal wire belong to coil number 1 and 2,3,4,5,6? The connecting switch in above pic is 8 wire i think white is for +12v and black for earth.

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
