NISMO
Hey Guys, just a quick question on the A/C in older skylines - particularly C210. Is the unit any good? Mine must need a re gasing - doesn't blow any cold at all, but if they don't do a decent job of cooling anyway might not bother with it. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99885-c210-air-con/ Share on other sites
Jono_c210
mine works beautifully, so im guessing yours may just need re-gassing. i was really suprised with mine when i first got it, didnt expect it to work very well, if at all. NISMO
Thanks Jono, Just what i wanted to hear, will definately have it fixed now. Does it effect the engine much when running? Do you notice a sharp decrease in power or over heating or anything? Jono_c210
it isnt too bad, you can feel it kick in a bit, but nowhere near as bad as my old car (n13 pulsar). hot_c210
mine survived all the way to perth without a problem. i think yours needs a re-gas. or check the condenser for holes. mine ended up that way. slow leak in the condenser. mastadd
the only prob with losing the gas from your air con, would be that there are currently no legal means of getting the gas the compressor requires as it was band. so if all the gas has leaked the comp will need to hav its oil changed and a few other bits changed to take the new gas which is called "R134a" the old gas is called "R12". Case in point - I had the system in my R32 GTR re-charged with re-cycled R12 a couple of weeks back......$95 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99885-c210-air-con/#findComment-1880087 Share on other sites
