  1. R33's don't get any cheaper/worse than that. This in theory should be the cheapest R33 ever.
  2. RZ Supra > Gtst/GTT I'd dump my R33 for a Supra anyday. Even with it's 240rwkw, it's nothing compared to a Supra...
  3. I'm also interested in this as I'd like to know what I should know to be able to respray my front bar myself. It doesn't have to be a perfect job but for all I know I just need to get the paint in a tin/bottle (R33 Skyline White) and then put it in a spray gun and fire away.
  4. If you're going that size turbo, don't forget injectors!
  5. mass iv, can you confirm at what rpm you are hitting full boost and if and when your tyres start to lose traction? You mentioned earlier that the tuner said he was losing traction in 4th (or was it 3rd) to which other including myself thought too hard to beleive. As I mentioned previously, I'm running just over 240rwkw with full boost of 16psi at around 3500rpm and there's no way in hell my car comes close to losing traction in 3rd with newish tyres on it. In fact, it will hardly even lose it in second, if at all. For the record, I'm running 225 Dunlop SP3000's on the stock rims. Maybe the stocko 16inch rims give better straight line traction? Maybe my car is actually running 200rwkw? (no way ) As for you guys running GT30's, being a 550-600hp unit I'd say that 250rwkw is still quite a fair whack under the efficiency range of the turbo. I have a 460hp unit on mine pulling similar power with similar boost and still haven't hit the turbos limit. Need injectors Perhaps we're seeing a limit with the stock cam setup because I was actually expecting more from this turbo (GT30) considering you guys have injectors giving you enough fuel for far more than 250rwkw.
  6. Love the black/white look and as mentioned, with a CF bonnet that would look daym nice. But you have a GTR badge on the front grill. This for myself is enough to turn me off the car completely
  7. I've done a few repairs on mine myself and just touched up the areas with a can of white spray paint. It turned out pretty sweet and you could only notice the dodginess from up close. I never thought it would cost $400 though! That seems like a shitload of money to give something a once over with the spray gun.
  8. Matt Spry at P.I.T.S. Many many many people go to him for tuning, including myself. As for contact details? Don't know off the top of my head but I'm sure someone here will know. Be prepared to pay top dollar though. However, you get what you pay for
  9. Yep new tires. 240rwkw here and with new 225's I'm lucky to start losing traction in second on a smooth flat road. I can chirp into third with a nice clutch slam but noooooooo hope of the car breaking traction due to pure power in this gear.
  10. Just Cars lets you have unlimited mods as long as you tell them what mods have been done. My brother made a successful claim with them on his Soarer which had 18inch chromies and an electronic boost controller. They payed up although they did put him through a ton of paperwork and he had to repeatedly chase them up which he was starting to get pissed off about. But in the end they payed
  11. The reason so many people like Twin Cam Rollas is because they're so damn sweet. My little brother used to have one and I loved it. With a 7700rpm redline they love to be abused and if you get the revs right, you won't have any problems beating "vl's and shit". He took out many cars far more powerful than him partially due to skill and partially due to the opponent not knowing their full potential. This was the AE82 variety. If I was ever after a small car, it'd be an AE82 Twin Cam for sure.
  12. Agreed with above. Just a catback is useless. Get the front/dump done. With all this, some boost and a good tune you should get around 200rwkw, of course depending on dyno and the condition of the car.
  13. Are you talking about the bleed valve or do you really mean the bov? I have both items on my car and for the bleed valve, a normal allen key is fine. I'd imagine the same with adjusting the spring pressure on the bov if that's what you're trying to do but I've never touched that on mine.
  14. If your boost is already tapering off at high revs then I imagine it will only get worse when you try and run more boost. It sounds like your turbo is already running out of puff in the higher revs. Apart from that it all seems fine. Next steps would be to upgrade that turbo and get some aftermarket fuel management but this is a very expensive step, albeit a good one.
  15. Sounds good to me if it's in good condition. Having all those mods already done to the car will save you thousands so assuming you want the power, this sounds good. Dyno sheet? He must have had it tuned when he got the chip. With those mods you should see over 200rwkw no probs.
  16. Thanks guys I've decided to cut it up. For reference as people asked, I have a Garrett Fmic Kit and thus the cooler fit in behind the bumper support with no cuts needed. However, about damage in a crash; The bottom half of the bumper support which is the piece I want to cut off is actually touching the cooler so any impact whatsoever on the bumper support WILL result in damage to the cooler. It's like this; |-|| where |- is the bumper support and || is the cooler from side view. The sharp edge on the bottom of the bumper support will literally slice right into the cooler with any movement thus my cooler will actually end up being "safer" with that piece removed. Keep in mind that as explained in my pic, I only plan to remove the bottom section of the support. The stronger, upper section will still be there and if need be in the future, I can have this reinforced. And to answer another question someone asked, I can cut the front bar and it will fit on but as seen in my pictures, the bottom half of the bumper support will cross right throught the middle of the opening in the front bar covering half of the cooler. I've lined the bar up at home and had a look. It looks terrible. And if I ever need it replaced, I'll just buy a new one because as mentioned by someone else, it is bolted on to the chasis. Thanks all for your feedback and discussions. It was very worthwhile to me and I now understand the risk I am taking. I'll get some pics up when the bar is fitted.
  17. Hey mate I'm not sure if anyone mentioned a clutch upgrade. My clutch was getting a little weak when I sent my car away to be "modded to the sh!thouse". What this meant was that when I picked it up, the damn thing would just slip and I didn't get to see what the 240rwkw actually felt like. It was a big downer and 2 hours later before I even made it home it had died completely and I had to get the car towed. A week later I got it back, although my stepdad picked it up for me cause I was at work so he got the first ride. Funny thing was, he told my mum that he thought it felt no faster than before but not to tell me he said that (she told me anyway ). I'm doubting he even hit full boost. Anyone should be able to differentiate between 140rwkw and 240rwkw. And I sure as hell could tell the difference.
  18. I thought it was easy to tell due to the airbag stearing wheel. A plain old Series 1 won't have this. Much like mine
  19. It doesn't even look like a Skyline anymore, let alone a car...
  20. Ahh ok. Looks like you're both buying the turbo for the future. Make sense now
  21. My injectors hit max with 325rwhp through a Malpassi fuel pressure reg. There is a general consensus that 250rwkw it about the max power you can get from the stock injectors. I'd question your injectors (maybe they are aftermarket and you don't know it, maybe they have been high flowed) or I'd question the accuracy of the dyno.
  22. Anyone else have any more comments regarding this? Has anyone had this done to fit a new front bar?
  23. I have had my S1 for 1.5 years now and I only actually found out it had a fuel light 3 weeks ago So yes, it does have a fuel light. As for how far it will get you? No idea. But mine would go from on to off depending on the slope I was driving on. I managed at least another 20km from the time it first flashed on.
  24. I agree that this petrol issue is going to screw things up. I no longer use the R33 as a daily driver due to petrol prices. It's such a shame not being able to commute to the train station in it anymore.
