Ah yeah so mines at 250hz, doubt that be an issue. The tuner didnt stick flybacks on my SSR which I always was a bit dubious about. I run the 100A SSR too.

Whats your PWM setup?
-
Funny you mentioned the hum noise, cos mine makes that too. I noticed in the logs stats, from memory my max Inj DC is around 38%.. So judging by that, my FP's sitting under 70%?? I think with PWM its the opposite? What's your PWM setup?
-
Yeah well I do have ect temp issues. Low speed it wont come down as fast, and at idle it will creep, even with a 2100cfm AC fan(Aux), so it feels like the fuels also heating up, hence this thread.
-
I forgot to say, that I run twin Walbro 285 pumps, and they are already staged via PWM. Max DC on the pumps is from memory under 80% even at under 100% tps. Thinking of adding the Setrab fan assisted cooler.
-
What fuel temps do you guys see? I have a bosch twin sensor on my reg, and I've seen a max ever of 52C. Average of around 45 when cruising. I dont run a surge, with -10 feed and -8 return. Seem a bit high??

E gate vs conventional gate
Predator1 replied to Old man 32 GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah maybe, another way I would do it is run a eg 7psi spring in your gate, and use closed loop so that the ecu manages the gate. -
E gate vs conventional gate
Predator1 replied to Old man 32 GTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I thought about it with my build, but the sheer size of those f**kers put me off it. -
Thanks guys, @Ben C34 - Yes, its at the lambda - So I guess i can disregard my readings then. I have a spare bung, so I can throw in a EGT sensor/amp then. @GTSBoy - Do you have a beanie on? What turbo if you dont mind me asking? My turbo gets very hot, iron exhaust housing, and its a top mount too, so prolly explains a little.

Hi guys, Been doing some data logging on my g4x, and noticed something slightly odd. My EGT's are always between 780-800C. This is at idle as well. I did some pulls, and noticed the EGT's to be the same, or very similar. Havent seen it go over 800 so far, mind you I only went for a drive yday after updating my logging params. I dont think that's right. Even at idle. I am having high ECT at idle, and I have just upgraded my AC fan to a Maradyne 14inch fan that pulls 2100~CFM, and it still has a very hard time controlling ECT when set to 85C. What sort of EGT's do you guys see? I've had a look at my fuel and ign maps, and I dont see lot of fuel added, and not much timing either. Only 13.5~ at WOT.

Well I need to get custom lines anyway, as my manifold didnt clear properly(Even though advised I wanted to run ac). So I had to remove the hardlines by the rail. You cant use the oem drier anyway as they use a different gas.
-
Yeah I saw Vega has them for around 1100. Anyone used a custom condenser before? Not sure if I want to fork that much for a condenser.
-
Hi guys, Looking at my old AC condenser, it looks rather sad. Will get my AC all sorted again soon but was thinking to replace it with a new item. I cant find any new AC condensers. From what I know, all R32 ac condensers are the same. Anyone replace theirs with a new aftermarket one perhaps? Thanks.

I thought I'd chime in. Had the same issue. Going to put a swirl pot but nothing came out of the bleed nipple. It was filled with gunk. I cleaned out but still no luck. I shone a bridght LED torch and it looked super clean. Was scratching my head then it clicked...It must have a port on the side which we cant see. So, I had some thick wire(welding filler rod). I bent about 2mm off the tip.. shoved it up the hole and twisted it around like i was f**king a whore... I can confirm that there is a hole inside the bleed screw hole, at the bottom. It took about 2-3 mins of poking, and in between spraying brake cleaner to get the crap out.. After i broke through, i cleaned it out as much as poss, and it all works. Water started pouring out when i started the car. Hopefully this info will help others, as I couldn't find this level anywhere. PS - Excuse the mspaint skills. Hopefully it makes sense.

Anyone still driving their R32-R34 GTR's as a daily?
Predator1 replied to 20thousandRPM's topic in Victoria
You read it right.. I spray detailer and wipe it off after every drive. In the engine bay. Washed every 2 weeks or so. Cos its ceramic coated, cleaning/detailing is just super easy. -
Anyone still driving their R32-R34 GTR's as a daily?
Predator1 replied to 20thousandRPM's topic in Victoria
I drive mine quite often. When I do, I hardly drive it in anger. I love the off-boost torque, and how loud my doses are, hah. I've gone for days without even hitting any boost, even jumping onto motorways. Mind you, I wash/detail my car after every drive, inc the wheels. -
What is this whisting noise? Fuel related
Predator1 replied to Predator1's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, sadly I didn't think of it when the noise occurred last time(stupid me, as I was pacing). I've taken the whole fuel intank setup today and everything checks out. Nothing was loose at all. I'll change the socks as they look a little discolored - I hosed it off with 1/2 can of brake cleaner and couldn't see any crap out of it(Onto a while A4 paper). What does that sound like though? -
Hi, Can someone please help me identify this noise. It happens perhaps 1 out of 4 drives. When this happens, the fuel pressure, and temperature are well within parameters, FP is 37psi, and temps are around 35-40C. When it happens, it happens at idle, or when I'm cruising around. The ECU has several fuel related cuts, eg, high temp, low pressure. I've had the tuner check the tune when this noise happens, and everything checks out. My fuel setup is below: Frenchy's Performance twin in-tank setup(Not the TE edition, but v1) Twin Walbro 285 pumps(with check valves - 470lph) Both Pumps are PWM controlled - @ Idle they BOTH run at low speed, and then at eg 2500rpm they BOTH ramp up to full speed. -10 feed -8 return going into a Y with 2 -6's - 1 for the ethanol sensor, and the other to bypass(reduce restriction) Aeroflow 10micron filter FTurboSmart P2000 The car drives fine and boosts fine - Just sometimes this random noise appears out of the blues. Last time it happened, I was on 1/4 tank, so I filled it up to 1/2 - Noise still there. I can see the FP consistently change with boost as I drive it as well. I thought that the ethanol sensor was faulty, so here's what I did: * While car was idling, unplugged the eth sensor - Noise still there * Restarted car - Noise went away for about 30 secs, then it gradually picked up volume(louder) - This is what can be heard in the video. Can anyone please shed some light on this or if anyone's experienced this type of whistling noise? Excuse the exhaust noise and video - I had the phone by the rear diff where my filter etc is mounted trying to pinpoint the noise. IMG_0388.mp4

Time for a slight update - I replaced the radiator with a Koyorad 48mm unit, and also I noticed that my stock viscous coupling was covered in silicony looking crap. I figured my coupling has shat itself. I bought a 2nd hand unit which seemed to be better, and have now stuck the GKTech fan back on(Was using oem fan before). The temp diff is night and day for me. Sorry to bash the Gktech fan before, but I can hear it road when it locks up, and temps are far more stable. I think during winter, I'll replace the wp to a reimax unit when i pull my motor out.

Churned out a very conservative 360awkw on a 4wd roller dyno. Rev limit is only 7.5. No timing etc in the tune. Purely tuned to conserve the stock box, peak boost of aroun 13psi. I've ordered an Albins kit from PRP, however its taken Albins just over 1.5 years and I still don't have the box as they keep f**king me around Once the box is on, I've got an Alpha Omega 1 piece shaft as well, along with other bits, and will turn the wick up. Still more to go.. Looong list of crap that needs doing. -
I was thinking the same. My 32 has been almost done. Its running after hibernation. I'll update the RB30 thread hopefully today.

Silly question, do you know what comp ratio of your old/new motors?
-
If people don't believe it, I'd be happy to post the quote up for arguments sake. Personally, I don't see how PPG's helical gears can be stronger then straight cut dogs, which is why I didn't go with a PPG. Personally, I don't care how loud my gearbox is. I'd rather have a loud, and reliable setup, over a docile, and not so reliable setup.
