  1. Well if I agree with not using one as much (i prefer to wind down my driving) but I have an Apexi Pen turbo timer. I got it for about $140. I've installed mine in the top right hand corner of the windscreen so it is hidden. It has features like battery voltage (useless cos of the factory gauge), O2 sensor voltage and Air/fuel ratio.
  2. Hi, I was wondering with installing AVCR's and SAFC-II, what are the dimensions of the control units and any ideas for installing them stealthly in the cabin. I saw someone mount a Blitz boost controller in the sunglass compartment near the bonnet release switch but anyone have any ideas?
  3. for the SAFC-2, I'd recommend http://www.nengun.com They are pretty cheap. Not sure about the piping tho
  4. Is the guy who owned the Red VX(i think) Commodore still there. Cos when I had my last car, I got awesome service.
  5. All i know is its a T28 standard same as an R33 Series 2
  6. I think its normal depending on the type of whine. In my mates R31 (N/A), it hisses cos of the Pod and on mine, u can hear the spool of the turbo a lot louder. Can you post a sound?
  7. Yeah, im mistaken. GTRS is for SR engines so at this stage, if i can get the details for the garrett equivalent for the HKSGT2835 Pro S (0.68 A/R)
  8. Hi, Can I ask where ur getting it done and how much and did u get?
  9. Reason for sale? Are they stiffer than the standard springs?
  10. Motorman, can you let me know where in Brisbane u get your work done?
  11. Standard I believe is a T28 with nylon compressor wheel and ceramic exhaust wheel. Dont know much else except its supposed to be the same as an R33 GTST Series 2. Oh BTW, whats the price for the HKS GT2835 and did those above prices include all of the hoses and kit to fit?
  12. Hey mate, how much for a Garrett GT28 and Garrett GT28RS with all oil lines etc for fittment to an R34 GTT? Which would u recommend? I'm specifically after better accelaration (0-100).
  13. I'm looking at going down the same path but I've been advised differently: Zorst (i have standard at the moment), FMIC, Super-AFC/Power FC, Cold Air Box, then a Garrett GT28RS (Disco Potato whatever that means) or if i have the money: HKSGT2835 Pro and definately get an oil cooler.
  14. Another longshot... If you are willing, how much would you sell the stock air box for & sent to Brisbane?
  15. Yeah, we should link this to the Stock Boost for R34 thread. The R34 compressor wheel is nylon plastic crap and isnt as strong as the 33. But as I also mentioned, some series 2's came with a steel wheel but, as soon as i find solid evidence, ill post.
  16. Have u got a police report number? I'd call the police customer unit on 1800 622 571 and complain about them not even wanting a lead as good as the video.
  17. Well from what I was told at the last meet, the turbos are ceramic bearing with a nylon based compressor wheel that doesnt take high boost well (the wheel breaks) but again, spools up quite quickly. There are alse series 2 R34's around that had steel wheel turbos from the factory apparently. Ask AFRO if u can track him down... something to do with if the turbo has NISSAN or Garrett on it.
  18. Im in too for a day cruise
  19. Stock boost is supposed to be 6psi which is just a bit below the 3/4 mark. I have noticed mine going a little over in cold air areas (early mornings or around Mt Tambo) Don't know about upping the boost. From what i've heard, u dont want to take the standard turbos above 10psi cos theyre quite fragile yet quick to spool to full boost.
  20. Get someone/babel to translate this: http://www.mines-wave.com/ I was after similar specs/ideas but ive heard its cheaper to try buying the actual car than getting the parts sent over etc if you want the exact same performance. Others have just bought an engine with turbos + Mines ECU and get everything else like handling work done locally.
  21. The first turbo skyline I went in was an R31 Executive sedan (aussie spec) with an RB30ET and R32 manual gearbox. It had a pod and ag-pipe for "cold air induction" and 3" exhaust. The car was running extremely rich but was overwhelmingly fast. I loved the turbo spool and acceleration. The ability for it to haul arse to 180 with 5 ppl in the car is what impressed me. The video of it is here: http://r31skylineclub.com/content/download...aving-badly.avi
  22. Thanks heaps fro that 666Dan
  23. Looking forward to the meet.
  24. I'm in for sure but im working Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Add me: [email protected] Mob. 0402945381
  25. My mate's 180 has a dodgy looking switch like that. It changes the dimmer (Console backlight thing) adjustment from high to low. He was told that it was for compliance cos japs dont have it by default. My car has an after market knob for it too but it was a black Jaycar type job and is is adjustable instead of just high and low.
