I have a 3" turbo back (with split dump) and high flow cat with cannon that got me a defect at 98dB. It was very drowny but could hear it all the time. After the hi flow resonator, it was still loud but not drowny in the cabin and then with the silencer, the car runs and sounds like stock (but its removable)
I can send ya mp3's of the car's sound. I'd say the tone is made by the cannon.
PM me if u need pics of what it should look like once completed but I don't know about how they are installed. You may need to contact a compliance place.
Agreed with Cazisk. For $3.5k you could do the filter, cooler, electronic or manual boost controller, fuel pump, regulator and injectors and possible scrape in with a Power FC or similar fitted and tuned.
Resontator reduces the drone but only a little of the loudness. It doesn't seem restrictive at all. I've got a split dump pipe and hiflow cat etc. The only restriction is the end (silencer). I reckon that the standard muffler should be fine. The only thing is at high revs, u'll hear the gas rushing through the little holes. See what Jack Beedham say but they'll probably say get a stainless twin tip muffler with the 3 inch inlet. Still whatever you get, I'd get them to either test the loudness or say/write that it is a legal system (unless you're willing to risk it).
Woops, forgot to update this. Exotic didnt put a in muffler. They only put in a resonator and that has removed the drone but they put a removable silencer to get me down to 90dB. With the silencer in, the car feels only a little better than stock but take the silencer out and its like when the exhaust just got done (bloody awesome).
Thanks heaps. Pics if possible of what comes in the kit would be good (if it isnt what is shown on www.nengun.com). I have a cold airbox that uses the factory snorkel at the moment and wouldnt want make it a waste when i get the cooler.
Hi, Does anyone know if the R34 VSPL Intercooler kit its going to interfere with the standard snorkel and after looking at the pics of what comes in the kit, do I need any additional piping made up or does it just use the existing piping?
Hi nsm034. Check out the pics we took of AFRO's car (Blue R34 GT-T) installing a manual controller if it helps (apart from the temporary boost gauge ones).

Hopefully they help.
Mine's been perfect for a yeah in mostly stock form (changed turbo back zorst and cold air box). Had an issue with the fuel gauge reading empty way to early but it fixed itself and hasnt occurred since.
I bought a Cold air box from

I don't think there are any left but looks easy enought to make provided ur good with sheet metal.
Saw a maroon R33 GTST on the SE Freeway near the Marshall Rd exit (South bound) around 6am. I think it had SAU stickers on it which reminds me, I should put mine on.
I get what ferni gets. Cold air if the knob on the climate control is on cold and hot air leaks when on hottest. I leave it on hottest cos it makes driving in winter with the window down bearable without running the heater.
