  1. I stopped at version 1.6 Steam wasn't my thing, plus I was using a mates copy, so I couldn't register. Desert Combat is alright tho Cheers Sumo
  2. yep, you will get your dash lights come on when you turn the key, but when you go to start they should dim, and the starter will sound like a dog Cheers Sumo
  3. Best of luck with the re-gas and hopefully no problems arise. They have just bought in a heap of new qualifications for the A/C people to try and adhere too. All gas has got to be accounted for - tight regulations and you will get screwed pretty bad if you dont comply. Cheers Sumo
  4. Can you please describe what the purpose of knowing the ambient temp is? 99% of people would find this function useless as with climate control you set the temp you are comfortable with and it will work out the rest. Cheers Sumo
  5. We get HCl for our dry delivered Batteries. Funny you mention people using it for different things, as some druggo looking bloke wanted to buy a 5 litre container off us. He didn't really care about the cost... <_< Cheers Sumo
  6. JDM, good to see you take pride in what you do. You see so many stories these days about the sharks that exist and want your money for nothing in return. Cheers Sumo P.S. I have no doubt if I need some wheels you'll be on the list.
  7. Hahahahah, speed holes Nice Work Sumo
  8. GTS-4some, First up, I would pull apart the IAC valve located near the throttle body and give it a clean. This controls your idle speed. If the IAC valve is fine I would then go onto the sensor that controls this. Not directly but the ECU input would be the 2 pinned coolant temperature sensor. Located in the water jacket normally 9 times out of 10 up the front of the engine. As for Tommo's problem, I would say that if the coolant temp sensor is not telling the computer that the car is now hot, you will still have rich mixtures and this will kill an exhaust in no time. You will find that you will get poor fuel consumption and be down on power. Cheers Sumo P.S. Im telling you what I know in my universal applications of how cars work, I have had bugger all expirience with skylines in particular, but once you get your foundations straight you can normall apply this to most cars.
  9. Spark plug problem? Coil pack problem? Mate, it could really be anything. As its intemittent, you can only eliminate the possiblities. I would chase the spark related components first, then fuel, then air. I have seen dry solder joins in Commodore ECU's change a cars idle. and by twisting the PCB the car will start idling fine.... Cheers Sumo
  10. Randy, Do you have a picture of the globe, im sure I could source them globes cheaper then $16 each.... Sounds like nissan is having a go at its customers. We have some good suppliers, im sure we could find a globe to match. Cheers Sumo P.S. Dodgy auto electricans will charge an hours labour for a 15 min job. Honest ones dont.
  11. People have also got to expect that nothing is bulletproof - once you start modifying cars that their is a big chance that something may fail. When something does fail, the blame is nearly always shifted back to the workshop. Cheers Sumo
  12. Banks are rotten.... I hate dealing with them, but you have no choice this day and age. Cheers Sumo
  13. Im yet to see a piece of aluminium pipe that is flexible. work out what you need and go get the bends done, the local exhaust shop/ engineering shop should be able to do it. Cheers Sumo
  14. Sounds like either an oil pressure sensor plug or a knock sensor plug. I'm not sure which side these are on on a skyline. But it would nearly have to be the starter motor side. Cheers Sumo
  15. Mate, sometimes you gotta get rough with cars...... They aren't a toy - most will handle the little amount of punishment your little muppet arms can dish out. You cant let rubber hoses and the like worry you Cheers Sumo
  16. I pulled my dash off the R33 and left the in cabin temp sensor unplugged, she blew hot air until someone here on the forum told me what I had done wrong. Cheers Sumo
  17. I would check the main connections and the obvious things first. I highly doubt its a relay, as it would not control that many things. You have to get it playing up to take it to an auto elec. Otherwise they will check the main things, then have to go through the lengthy process of checking everything. Cheers Matt
  18. You'll have fun with driveways Cheers Sumo
  19. Well, im playing golf on sunday with my mate and then playing tennis that arvo with my family. Will probably buy some finches on saturday. And have a few stubbies on monday. Cheers Sumo
  20. Ok, I will tell you what I know about wiper circuits. 90% of the time the wiper motor will be supplied a constant power and the switching will be done on the negative side. I dont have a skyline wiring diagram, but their should be a rear wiper relay (timing built in for intermittent speeds - so it should be a little bigger then a normal relay) either that has shit itself. Or, you have pinched a wire under the drivers side kick panel - had the rear seat out lately? because the wire that goes up to the switch or relay may be earthing out which will keep the motor going. Or the last possible situation is that the motor has stuffed up internally. Welcome to the wonderful world of working on cars Cheers Sumo
  21. Duncan, I would have suggested the same thing. Unless, your earthing the signal the Piezo Electric sensor is producing, thus the ECU detecting no pinging, and advancing the timing? Cheers Matt
  22. me too.... damn link
  23. Nice, as long as the shoe fits and you like that kind of work Cheers Sumo
  24. I like the 33 chop Cheers Sumo
