  1. K20A Civics are completely insane, and a lot cheaper base than a Lotus haha. One of the first US time attacks (EVOs, GTRs etc included) was dominated by an EG Civic with a fairly mild K20A in it Even a EuroR H22A in a Civic actually, they aren't far off K20As but with more torque and way cheaper... I've actually been pondering building myself something along those lines for quite some time.
  2. Exactly, its efficiency in terms of the amount of performance you get out of ahunk of metal which has can be made to fit in a lot of places fairly easily and weighs less than many things with the same or less performance.
  3. Funny you should mention RIPS, guess what he's up to now? Just sayin'
  4. Anything you can do, I can do better... Keep the insane 26 in a GTR Though to be fair I have considered hunting down an FD with a blown motor and throwing my spare RB25 in it because of that exact car and how awesome an FD sounds with a tuned RB in it
  5. Haha I dunno, I was thinking about putting that other car in there as well. Actually I know, 7litre RX7 for skids and the motor in the other RX7 in a GTR for AWD skids
  6. Combine the best of two of the above to make something suitably ridiculous?
  7. Sure is, stock internal VH45 with a big single Holset turbo on gentle boost - 360kw odd before the dyno complained about torque. If I remember rightly did quite skatey low 11s and awesome burnouts. On ET Streets I am sure it could have cut a 10.
  8. Get the best of everything, get a V8 - put a turbo on it, put it in a Skyline. Sorted!
  9. Crazy weather eh? I can see snow on the hills around me right now and I am in Welly ffs. Wellington wind is bad enough without throwing ice into it. Hope something shows up for you soon enough man, quite keen to see how you find it after previous combinations
  10. Thats awesome, its a PT6765 I'm guessing? The Precision and the FP-HTA billet turbos are wicked pieces of kit, good to see them catching on down this part of the world. I am hoping that soon I'll be able to report some results for a built RB25 running a PT6765 on E85... that should be quite interesting.
  11. Do it. 12flat or faster, Right now That wasn't $1000.... I suspect there is a lot more to that story, and definitely not a general rule of how they go Obviously going by averages the Commodores are quicker at the drags, there will be examples of particularly quick Skylines and the same goes for Commodores. One of my mates has a Commodore which he did 12.9 in full street trim with stock exhaust etc, spent a few grand and has added another ~40% to his initial power figure - for all intents and purposes its still a fairly mildly modified car and I am absolutely certain its substantially quicker than my car in all respects when it had its GT3076R on it. There is no replacement for displacement folks, your best bet for minimal outlay is get sticky tyres and a bit of NOS and get it tuned like that - 2RISMO style. 11s on stock turbo ftw.
  12. Because they are better...
  13. Thats awesome, sounds promising - when are you going for a full power tune? Will be interesting to hear how the block holds that.
  14. All there really is to add now is dyno results from some EFR turbos, we all get a little stir crazy with all this anticipation
  15. Look at the size of the outlet of the collector on the single 3>1 manifold versus the collectors on each of the twin scroll one - the size and shape is quite different, which will affect the design. Its basically a packaging thing, for example people with Hondas can get awesome big tube long primary 4>1 extractors for their cars yet if you drop a VH41 into your S13, odds are the manifold design is going to have to be different due to packaging and requirements from it. Surely I shouldn't need to spell that out?
  16. LMAO at some of the people you are calling kiddies, especially with some of the stuff you come out with. You're quite a rattly can at times Those are two different collectors for different applications, for a start. One is a 3>1 manifold and the other is a twin scroll 6cyl manifold.
  17. Hahahaha, giving away my childhood inspirations there
  18. Sounds like it was a good idea by that initial report - when is tuning likely to be completed? A decent single twin scroll turbo is the main thing that has been missing from that car's setup which has managed to have it not holding a special place in my "Man that this is so cool I wish I had one just like it" list
  19. Whoa.... What turbo now?
  20. That is just awesome, can't wait to hear results... This is going to be the EFRs best chance to prove themselves, I gave up waiting for them to emerge but still hope to see success
  21. The response won't change much, if anything was going to improve it'll build more aggressively from 10psi up to full boost from 3000ish rpm - thats what I found with mine. Did you ever post your dyno plot from Status?
  22. No doubt some of the excellent spool and power you are getting with your turbo combo will have to be attributed to the manifolds, etc. The final product is effectively the sum of the parts used, it may not give the same result with an RPS Exhaust, XS Power exhaust manifold, reground cams and an old Microtech.
  23. 6boost are amazing value for money, but if money is not so much of a worry the Full race ones would be my pick
  24. Hmm well going by the results I've heard of the 67mm S400SX turbos doing - the compressor wheel is probably capable of pretty serious things, all comes down to how much exhaust gas the 80mm turbine can do. I'm picking that if the cam specs thrown around are at all relevant to this setup, its capable of quite happily cracking 600kw on a hubdyno running E85.
