  1. Since I'm getting a unichip retune on the 15th at Autotech I will be able to do my own little comparison
  2. I have a friend who bought an Xr6-T around the same time I bought my r34 so we did a bit of a comparison and let each other drive both cars. The xr6-t surprised me quite a bit with the linear acceleration and the amount of go it had. It wasn't as fast as my GT-T but thats probably because mine is modified. Stock v stock I'm sure the xr6-t would win. The steering is pretty vague and I found it hard to determine what the rear end of the car was doing whilst the GT-T has very point to point steering and always lets you know exactly what was going on. The seating position of the xr6-t is also very uninvolving and should be due to the family car nature. Basically when it comes down to it, the cars have similar performance but one is a touring sports car and one is a family car with lots of power. It's really your decision which way to go.
  3. 1998 GT-T Tiptronic Coupe $2400 Just Cars I'm 24 with 40% NCB. All mods covered.
  4. Theres a lightly modded BA XT going around Canberra that has managed to crack 200rwkw with just some basic mods like exhuast, headers etc.
  5. I might come along to watch as I know most of the RS club guys too. Not much of a kart driver so I won't be racing for SAU.
  6. Yes, the screensaver from a Nokia 6230 is an odd choice of signature picture.
  7. Holy christ. I wanna cry I get 350-400 out of a full tank if I'm lucky.
  8. Seriously, you most likely will have to pay someone with a 34 to take it, might be lucky with some other sort of car. It leaves holes in your rear quarter panels. Most people avoid them like the plague.
  9. Get rid of the stock ECU. Common problem on a 34 with raised boost. Stock ECU will dump extra fuel because of the raised boost resulting in the flat spot. PowerFC, daughterboard, wolf or unichip time.
  10. It is quite nice in the flesh too. Seen it in Woden a few times. Good to hear the O2 sensor fixed your problems to an extent.
  11. Those N-1 ones don't look to be the factory ones so he might need two not one. They come down much lower at the centre of the light.
  12. Sounds like a possible faulty O2 sensor or AFM. Thats ridiculous consumption! I thought mine was bad but noway near that bad.
  13. Did you have any stalling or idling issues with it?
  14. 9 million for all the black cars.
  15. I had these on the back of my 34 and whilst they did grip exceptionally well I found them to be very soft and wear very very quickly. I went through a set of rears in 10,000km almost down to canvas.
  16. Like most newer turbo cars the 34 auto has a factory re-circ blow off valve. I suspect you are talking about actually hearing the noise. You will hear it but only when you back-off the accelerator as an auto holds boost between gear changes. I have the stock re-circ and it is very loud through an apexi pod.
  17. Manuals aren't rare at all. They are more expensive though, the price difference between a similar conidition auto to manual can be upto 10-15k! As for the strength of the 34 auto, there are a few issues with solenoids but generally they can quite happily withstand 200rwkw. As for driving it like a manual, you won't. The tiptronic isn't designed to be driven like a manual and shouldn't be. It is faster to take off using auto, sometimes it is better to shift down for a corner but very rarely. The manual conversion has been done by a few guys on here and they could tell you the cost.
  18. Generally the r34 has a 4-speed transmission with no o-drive snow/auto etc switch. Not sure if any of the other guys on here with a 34 auto have a 3 speed.
  19. Anyone also notice all the threads were about stolen cars...
  20. I rang Just Cars a little while back to discuss some of my latest mods and they informed me very clearly: "Just cars can not determine what is a legal modification on your car as it varies in each state. YOU are completely responsible for ensuring all modifications are legal in your state." Although this raises the question of what happens when an accident occurs and a mod is found not to be legal that Just Cars knew about....
  21. No idea what the difference in sound would be as I don't have a stock exhaust nor the switch.

  23. Nope not standard, factory option.
  24. Variable silencing system I think it stands for. It's a system to restrict the amount of air through the exhaust to quieten the car for silent mode. Might want to check if the valve is actually stuck or not as due to being in the exhaust they tend to get stuck in one position a lot.
