  5. 5" cat is HUGE! Are you recommending a full 5" system Stao? or step down from 5" cat to 3.5 or whatever? Was this included in my turbo Stao? Or did I miss out on this? Cheers
  6. I believe just going decat alone nets roughly 10kw which would make things interesting also. Same goes for external gate, should see similar results to what you posted. I'm quite happy with the power I made on 98 just a bit too lagy. Good power from your build - Have you got a link to your build thread I can have a look at? I wouldn't say its an "issue" as such just a "feature" I'm not used to. I'm not sure how it should actually be - Is it normal to not reach full boost in every gear but the higher ones? With my old turbo (maybe because it was smaller) it would get full boost every gear without a question. For anyone wondering, I did see better results with the boost controller plumbed to the charge pipe which makes sense because that's post intercooler. Still not making as much as I'd like though - e.g. made 17psi this morning on third gear loading onto the M4. I really want to get a new cooler now just undecided on which one. But then again I need new tires and coilovers first I guess. Thanks for reading guys!
  7. Wastegate actuator arrived today - I'll fit it in the hopes that it improves my boost control. Bigger in person than pics
  8. It does go really well - It's probably suited for someone chasing more power than I was with a less restrictive setup. Ideally if I were to do it again I would have got an SS2 with a gate off the housing. The torque is nuts and the power is what I am looking for probably just a but too big for what I needed.
  9. I'm making 290 with the ATR45 - Restriction is said to be cooler. I believe the ATR45 will push well past the 300s and makes great torque. Check out my build thread for details.Should give you plenty of room to go more than 300 but it's quite laggy on 98 but once it comes on it's nuts. I believe the 43 should be less laggy but have less headroom

  12. Thanks guys and sorry to hijack the thread Bill! My mate had stock fan and stock rad with shroud and went through two radiators in the space of 4 days (and 500 worth of towing) because of an unbalanced fan (slightly bent fin) then when it spun up at RPM it caught the shroud and went into the top off the rad lol. Anyway - Carry on gents
  13. I have mine like Johnny said, in the charge pipe like factory R33 has it and I found much better boost control with my AVCR. I'll get my Haltech to do it one day
  14. What Nulon did you put in your 33? How long was it on the motul with ticking before you swapped over? Sorry for all the questions!
  15. Ugggh I run Motul Htech 100 in my 33... and I've got lifter tick by the sounds of it.I used to run Penrite racing 10 10ths (10w/40) then JustJap recommended the Motul.. Looks like I'll be changing oils sooner rather than later.

  18. I had a similar issue with mine when I had no license. Week by week it got harder to start until one day fresh off the charger it wouldn't crank the car over at all. I believe one or more of the cells were failing. Like the others said test with another battery and replace if necessary
  19. Thanks guys, good to know they are all the same. I thought my car was hot the other day hauling ass up the mountains LOL got to 95 and I was freaking out lol. 105 jesus. Let me know how you go with the rad Bill. Johnny is the one who inspired me to look at getting one also
  20. Nice work Bill! Funny you are getting hicas elim and front camber arms - I'm ordering hicas elim and REAR camber arms this week lol. Going to get the kits from Otomoto if that helps you at all! What radiator are you getting? I was looking at the china worley ones form fleabay
  21. Thanks ARB - Got them from JustJap. I wasn't keen on them first but they grew on me $99 IIRC Get some! RE camber, I think I'm at max adjustment for the rear unfortunately I would LOVE to do this but I've had enough trouble with NSW HWP in the past that I don't want to give them an excuse to pull me over - 6 foot flames might be a dead give away Yep, I was talking to Adam from JEM re the external gate and he thinks its a good idea. That coupled with E85 should get me to a happy territory. Just need to sort out this boost restriction now. Stao is adamant that its the cooler so I'll run some tests for him and I in the coming days to prove/disprove the issue. What did you have done to get 320?
  22. Never ending battle with this car. Started the morning early and just lost track of time. I had a plan today to go though the suspension components, clean them up, check bushes, ball joints and so on. Found that both hicas ball joints are stuffed so I'll order an elimination kit this week. I also found that my rear tires are incredibly bald from what looks like bad camber wear. When I went to a tire shop last they said keep an eye on the rear camber because the rear squats which tends to give more camber leading to more wear. I always wanted to get a decent set of arms for alignment I guess now is my chance lol. I mounted my ECU properly with a bracket and tidied it up. Doesnt look so tidy without the trim panels but you get the gist. Found out my cat is actually in good condition despite the treatment it's gotten from me as of late.   23. Yeah I just checked mine and they are all good. My CVs knock in the diff if I wiggle them... Im assuming thats not normal lol??
  24. Any pics of the area you mean? I have the same sound and I'd like to know where to look. Do you mean the parts that bolt the subframe to the car (i.e where you would put the subframe collars?)
  25. Hmm, I would be interested to know difference in price also - custom v name brand. I know the tomei expreme is supposed to be 3.5" but It is very very very expensive for a cat back system (probably being titanium).
