  1. I am also thinking of going with the X series for my 33, I was thinking of going comfort because its a daily driver. I'll shoot them a message and talk to them about what I want. Thanks for writing the review and following it up, this helped make my mind up regarding what brand of coils to get.
  2. I have the Nismo 740cc in mine, bought them second had with <2000kms on them had them cleaned and tested. Idles pretty bad when the car is warm (splutters etc). My tuner said it's the injectors. If I were to do it all again, I would go top feed rail and injectors.
  3. Wow, I have a very similar noise but its not so much a knocking its more of a ticking. Same as you, goes away when you bring the revs up from idle. A good place to start would be to get a long screwdriver, put the car on 4 stands or 4 ramps and start it. Use the long screwdriver against your ear and against any surface you think the noise is coming from. It acts like a stethoscope so you should be able to hear where it's coming from. I cant seem to work out where my noise is from unfortunately.
  4. Good work anyway! I made 289kw so I also missed out on being part of this club
  5. Yep makes sense now I think of it. Most people run the blitz coolers (like mine) so i would hope it helps a lot of people. What cooler are you running? Pics or gtfo ------------- Charge pipe pre throttle body yielded the best results for me - Boost pressure is now about where I expect it to be but still suffering pressure dropping. I'll confirm by running the boost gauge pre cooler this weekend.
  6. Hi All, Just an FYI that Stao and I came across - I tested having the boost controller hooked up between the compressor housing and the actuator and then the charge pipe and the actuator. It seems that having it on the charge pipe I can achieve greater levels of boost across the board. I.E couldn't make 1 bar in first or second gear now it makes this and peaks at 18psi in third and so on easier now. Quoting Stao's response after my test: This experiment means there is quite a bit of pressure drop across the cooler, so the high pressure side would be opening the gate earlier while the lower pressure side will be holding the gate shut for longer, hence the boost gain. This is a good result, you might want to mention that in corresponding threads. Hope this helps someone else with the same turbo (ATR45SAT on RB25)
  7. PM replied - I work at Rhodes BTW lol.
  8. Sounds mad too and gets the bitches - HWP may or may not love it though --- Disregarding the legalities behind decat, Stao on your test cases did any of them have a cat converter? I would be interested to know how the exhaust tee compares/ed to the decat - I recall talking to Johnny and he mentioned 10kw gain just by going decat IIRC.
  9. I bought a Turbosmart Kompact PB from Scotty's customs. Works a treat Stao also recommends changing stock one. People also say you can use the GTR one
  10. Here you go sir http://justjap.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=earls+lines Stao any idea what size the fittings are for the water then?
  11. I have an actuator from what I was told is a 32 GTST turbo (previous owner put it on). Where are you located?
  12. I would also be interested to know - I guess it would be just as easy to get the earls kit though or get custom lines made. Will wait for Stao's response.
  13. Brother has the Navman one for $130, does a decent job. I bought the model up for about $170 because the cheaper one wasn't available -Its got a few nicer features but nothing worth writing home about. Haven't had any problems with either of them
  14. Went for a nice drive earlier tonight - Home to Galston, Galston to Gosford through Old Pac and back down again. I took some pictures at Galston but have only edited two for now - Will upload more tomorrow
  15. Nope I was there too Got mine, wouldn't fit in the car so we changed it in the car park >.<
  16. Cheers Mark, he gave me some insight but we still went back to it being the cooler causing the problems. I've seen others perform better with the same cooler. Heaps laggy but I believe e85 will fix that
  17. Bought this to see if it will help with boost control Not so keen on my turbo at the moment, It seems to struggle with boost control hence the decision to go with the above actuator. The tuner said it opens around 9psi which is a bit absurd for something that is supposed to hold up to 20PSI. I'm also finding it struggles to even make 12psi in any gear but 4th and 5th which makes the turbo pretty useless for my application. I'm guessing this is actuator related or turbo related - I'm no SME so I could be wrong. Stay tuned, actuator is due sometime this week.
  18. I've seen the turbo make towards 30PSI IIRC but I'm struggling to hold 18PSI, Stao stated that the issue is the intercooler pressure drop but I've got a mate with a 3076 and he is happily running 20PSI on the same cooler. Maybe some characteristic difference being different turbos but I would have thought they should both see the same pressure loss. Tuner said the actuator is a contributing factor, he struggled to get it to hold 18PSI even using my boost controller.
  19. This is why I'm so conflicted, Stao said my struggle to get anymore than 18psi or sustain that (TBH it struggles to even make that) is because of pressure drop in the cooler.... I'm not sure what the actual issue is now. With that being said the tuner said the waste gate actuator isn't very good either. Open to opinion, PM me if you can help/provide insight
  20. Maaaad Sell me your old one for cheap
  21. Cheers Lifted! It's good to hear! I haven't done much else to the car since getting back on the road but I'm already scheming on what else to do. Couple of things in the works but I need to keep saving towards it all. Post christmas we should have some nice updates here. I had a sub and amp in the garage from a few months ago so I got some 4AWG wire out and crimped some lugs onto it and wired it up. It's good to have a little bass again in the car. While there, I pulled out the fuel pump harness out and checked nothing was burned out and it all looks sweet so I'm happy about that. Stay tuned
  22. Maccas Windsor road is fine - I'll PM you now anyway
  23. Also please tell me what your poison is!
