  1. It was raining Wednesday, so no WSID!
  2. Great DIY, I have one I need to replace too. I'd recommend using a puller of some sort to push the stud out, as using a hammer puts stress on the wheel bearing assy and may stuff it.
  3. Spotted a white R33 on the floodway rd Windsor lunchtime, looked phat. He flashed, I waved.
  4. Chris at craved coatings in Penrith did it for me. Cost around $170, just unbolted it and he did the rest, cleaning, cutting, welding, grinding and cleaning. I'd suggest you ring him to get an accurate price though.
  5. Springs are on order. I'm also going to rebuild the front suspension assy. A few noises that annoy me when turning. So it's getting new front wheel bearings, bushes for a arms and castor rod, New inner and outer ball joints, And maybe a reco set of CV shafts. New discs! and pads More $$$$! Also got the twin turbo pipe modded with a separator welded in to smooth the air from each turbo, boost is now more stable overall, and less prone to shuffle.
  6. I call shotgun!!!! When you get it on the road!! Thanks Matt, you just want me to 'improve the 34's low end torque' eh!?
  7. LIKE!!! Now to strip your 2 RB30 bottom ends that are at my place, when I have time lolZ. You may as well sell em though, to get some money for the v8!
  8. Disagree there. The RB's do sound different to the JZ, totally different note. Listen to a 26 and then a 25, they sound different, even the 32GTR's sound different to the 34GTR's, let alone a 1JZ. Unless you may be tone deaf lol. I did hear an xr6 turbo once that sounded like a big jap RB engine though....... The only thing in common is the firing order, number of cylinders, twin cams etc. Types of metal used, Port shape, combustion chamber shape, turbo, exhaust, manifolds, tuning and cams is what gives an engine it's noise signature.
  9. #$%@@ LOLZ!!! That would of been so funny to watch!
  10. I've got a good one! Had to get a mates car to the workshop, so rented a car trailer, and hooked it up to a mate's VT SS. Put the car on the trailer myself as engine was stuffed. Anyway only had one strap and fitted that to the car thinking that it won't roll back if I strap it to the front of the trailer. Kept the winch hooked up too. Well, got 40 metres down the road to a speed hump, braked for speed hump, heard a loud crunch, so I pulled to the side and stopped. The car had moved forward and the front wheels were over the front of the trailer, with the front bar pushed into the winch upright. I was so pissed of with myself, got the jack out and had to jack under the tow bar to lift the front of the trailer back up then had to go get the texi basher VN v6 out, hooked it up to the back of the car on the trailer and yanked it off the winch, and back to where it was supposed to be. Finally sorted the car out, got another strap for the back then got going, felt a bit weird and after 100 metres could smell/hear something was dragging. So pulled over again and found that in my rush left the jockey wheel down! The rubber wheel was mangled, so put the jockey wheel away and got going again. Made it to workshop. So I ended up bending the front bar, number plate and reo bar on his R31. I always strap a vehicle down properly, but just this once I didn't, don't rush these things, is all I can say!
  11. Good job!! that should point a few guys in the right direction as I usually just tell em to check the g sensor for the indicator bar to see if it's stuffed. Had the same issue with a guys computer in his honda lol, leaking caps caused car not to start, replaced them and good as new.
  12. I know of 3 now (1 1J, 2 2J's) that have had head gaskets go. They are still just an engine after all.
  13. Coil pack : most likely injector : possible wiring : maybe Comp tests vary with throttle open and closed too. You get a higher reading with foot on throttle 100%. And a leak down check will give you a more accurate result.
  14. +1 Very sensitive to the way they are removed and installed. Slow and steady by undoing all the bolts a little at a time is the safe way, same when doing them up. It's due to the length of the cams and which lobes are compressing their respective valve springs part way along the cam. If you put on and do up the caps unevenly or one at a time, fracturing/weakening and or breakage may occur.
  15. Would you be better off just getting the gtr rear cradle too and bolt the whole lot up? I know the r200 diffs over the model types and years had slightly different bolt lengths/positions?
  16. Problem is cost lol. All the little stuff adds up, and before you know it 20+K gone!! Rough break down: (not including car) VH45DE complete $2200 custom exhaust, custom extractors plus labour $3700 Z32 Gbox $500 os gikken twin plate clutch/flywheel $2500 tailshaft $500 adapter plate for bellhousing and machining $1800 eng mounts $250 x member $200 thermos and radiator $700 custom metal bonnet $1800 Labour $2000 Other stuff was replaced too, so more $$$ 5 stud conversion $500 discs $600 4 pot 296mm upgrade $400 master cylinders clutch/brake $230 electric power steer $200 Misc crap and other labour to finish car $5000 Engineering, total $1800 Rego, plates $1200 Could of gone cheaper bits too, but we wanted an over engineered, reliable car, and that is what he's got now. Just look at a holden driveline then a skyline one, I'd pick the jap way hands down!
  17. Love these wheels!, Terry's car had em. What a bargain for Quality jap forged lightweight wheels!!!!
  18. Spotted a neat silver R32GTR with stock wheels just past 7/11 in Windsor this morning. And keep seeing a white R34 4 door around Windsor too.
  19. I do not want to see a hercules do that!
  20. Ahh okay, thanks, thought they didn't come in yellow!
  21. Some great pics guys! The next cruise will be great too!!!
  22. pretty sure nismo 555cc top feed injectors are not yellow, the RB25 one's etc that are side feeds are yellow. You most likely have the stock 440cc injectors.
  23. That's 570k ohm resistors, one to replace each knock sensor. As long as high octane fuel is used, there should not be any dramas. Put it this way, it will get to 80km before a 300RWKW R32GTR comes onto boost in 1st gear from a normal standing start, (not launching!). Oh, and I vote that Farch at least runs it down at WSID to see what it runs!
  24. I'm bored now, k bye!
