  1. JJR should suit fine but sourcing the OEM ones would be ideal as suggested.
  2. A Ross or ATI Balancer are definitely better than the factory one. But the question is why would you need/want to replace the factory one if it is in good condition anyway?
  3. Well theoretically if its a piggyback then if you remove the harness extension for the SMT6 you should be able to plug into the factory loom with your Power FC. Not sure why anyone would but has there been any modifications made to the loom that you can see? Best would be to get the pin out diagram and match it up and check everything is there and nothing has been cut. Any good tuner should be able to work with any ecu because its the same thing in theory across all ecus except finding some functions may take longer, that is it. Have another look over the wiring and double check with a diagram. See if you can get the standard ECU to run first before trying the Power FC.
  4. Custom is the way to go if you want something decent in performance and quiet. Plenty of threads on this topic. You can buy off the shelf exhausts, high flow cats and front pipes etc from plenty of places so just search for reviews if that is what you are after. Just remember bigger is not always better. What is your current exhaust size?
  5. Buying the car then respraying it wouldn't be something I'd consider doing. Colour is not everything. If you really want a particular colour then maybe waiting for that right one is better.
  6. Lol stop creating threads for every question you have. Simple google search does the job and saves you time. People have done this before for years so the answers are there. If you still have troubles I'm sure your tuner/builder would know the answer.
  7. What has been said above is correct. You'll need to replace the intakes to match the Z32's if you buy them. Nismo kits do the same job and can be used without having to replace anyway, direct plug and play basically. Personally I'd use the Nismo ones if you were to keep AFM's all together. Another option is to remove AFM's all together providing you have an ECU with a map sensor. Look at the costs of buying new intakes, z32 afms or nismos in comparsion to an ECU and you'll see that it will cost more but not by a significant amount.
  8. Yeah it's something where a blind eye is turned unfortunately. If funds were allocated I'm sure it could be improved amongst other technologies out there.
  9. You're best off leaving the stock cams in and using adjustable gears. With adjustable gears you can get some good gains, depending on the amount of time spent dialing in and setting up the cams to suit your tune. That way you'll get the best response. If you weren't going to keep stock, Type R would be recommended next before Type B. As others have mentioned, you'd lose some low down response with Type B for top end power but in reality having low-mid range power is much better. 310kw on E85 seems slightly low for those turbos also. Unless the boost is down at a lower level then it would make sense. Adding cam gears and more boost (21psi area) you could get up to 350kw provided you don't have restrictions elsewhere. There is a bit of information available on the Tomei Poncam range and the results obtained from them on a variety of setups.
  10. Sounds like a good and inexpensive idea. Would be good to see the results of the setup when you are done.
  11. Having work done is good as what you get back for the car isn't as much as you spend on it obviously. But having no knowledge or little about its history of modifications by who, where, when and anything regarding that can be a worry. If it was me I'd focus more on making sure the chassis has no rust issues, no accidents and is absolutely immaculate for the price you pay for the r34's. Usually they are pretty good but some can have some hidden detail which can be shit to deal with down the track. Focusing on that first before optimum performance would be my main incentive then looking at performance next would be better. Obviously there is some compromise between the two as some stock motors could be on the way out, other areas of the car could be lacking maintenance also. @JH32. I've always wanted a R34 GTR for a long time but I decided I would buy a R33 GTR now and purchase a 34 later down the track at some point as I couldn't justify spending all my money on the car all at once with nothing left. Having said that, I still love my 33 and enjoy the car but I don't think my satisfaction would rapidly change by just driving a 34 GTR. Obviously the 34 being the last model before jumping to the 35 GTRs which become another level there is bound to be a significant price increase. Eventually I'd like to experience both the 32 and 34 also at a point in time down the future but for now the 33 is perfect for what I want. Having said that, If I had the chance to buy a fully built 33 that was perfect condition for say $40k I'd take it over a stock 34 for around $40k any day. The 34 may have a few extras and a different looking body compared to the 32 and 33 but those aren't big issues to me. More concerned about performance and maintenance.
  12. Doesn't look too good for the future in Australia if you want E85 you'll have to buy it from barrels instead of at the pump with more stations closing down shortly. E85 fuel is environmentally friendly compared to straight octane fuel and uses renewable resources. To me that would be something to consider using in most vehicles, commercial and performance from factory instead of the traditional unleaded fuels. Increasing the demand from all consumers, not just the racing industry would then lower the price at the pump and stations would be selling the fuel more regularly and be able to supply at the majority of locations around Australia. There is a shift to electric vehicles happening quite rapidly also at the moment as technology improves they will become more popular. Hybrids involving batteries, storage systems and fuel are also emerging. Unleaded fuel is a good compromise now but I believe there should be more R & D in regards to clean and renewable fuel sources to use commercially. Not just E85 but other methods that require more development to be considered safe for general use in the motor vehicle industry. People love a clean, green environment at no or minimal extra cost that provides the same result. I see heaps of potential for the oil and resource industry with regards to renewable fuel sources but the limiting factor here is money as always. People don't want to fund projects or ideas unless there is a significant outcome.
  13. Does he have the physical switch to press, and the motors could be gone? Aftermarket mirrors that don't fold in via the electronic system? I thought the majority of Nissan's had electric folding mirrors, minus a few exceptions.
  14. I'm interested to know what you are intending to use the micro controller for exactly. I.e. the functions you are going to program to display or produce what you want. I think everyone else has covered the rest as you can test the actual pressure sender to find out the ohm range.
  15. One suggestion, focus on keeping it legal or stealth as possible unless you want to get pulled over or defected regularly. Something custom is usually a lot better and works out well depending on the purpose of the car.
  16. Probably best to get in done in Brisbane as there are a few reputable workshops that can do some great jobs for you if you throw them the right amount of cash. Also it has been covered plenty of times among different threads from customers personals experiences both good and bad so try have another search to see if you can find those answers.
  17. Yeah no problem mate, it's just a heap of effort to remove something that doesn't have to be removed if it isn't being used. I know it gets cold down in SA sometimes so figured you might use it.
  18. I seem to be having this issue on my PC and Laptop also on various types of internet connections over the last few days.
  19. It joins up with the factory coolant hard lines for the twin turbo setup that travel along the top of the heat shields to the back of the head (splitting down into the turbos also). Also didn't you create another thread about deleting the heater and it was suggested by multiple people to just replace the hose(s). Unless you're pulling the entire loom/engine out and building a dedicated track car I don't see the point in deleting it as if you need to use it on for a registered car its required.
  20. I've seen GTR conversions on a variety of the r platforms from 32-34 and they can look nice when done correctly. Just make sure you leave off the badge =) The kit will look nice and you should enjoy the car with what you can do. Then once you are a doctor and have saved enough and you still decide to buy a 32 gtr, you can enjoy why you wouldn't want someone to badge a 32 gtst. Unless you get a chance to drive a gtr before then. You'll know the difference in feelings going from one to another.
  21. You'll get hate because there are so many things wrong with doing that in my opinion. Why make it look like something it is not? Just because you cosmetically enhance it's appearance does not mean it automatically becomes a GTR, lol. So why add a badge to the car that doesn't represent what it is. The GTR still has the legendary engine, drive train and chassis supporting the car that a GTST does not. If you manage your finances r32 gtr's are not that hard to acquire. Second point is buying all the gear to make the gtst look like a gtr can cost you heaps of dollars. The story you have given us tells as you are basically poor and can't spend large amounts of money on one thing. While this is fair, you bought a cheap r32 gtst which probably has heaps of problems to begin with that aren't even remotely related to cosmetics. So you might find that while you are buying your fully sick gtr kit to make it look like a car it is not, you'll have the engine blow up or something die 1 month down the track. Appreciate the car for what it is now and save up to own a GTR or keep dreaming. Don't throw a gtr badge on it because I f**king hate it when people do that. Coming from a GTR owner. In the end you can do what you like though as nothing but money can really stop you.
  22. I had to replace one that I broke on my side skirt. Nissan sold them but I don't think they were ridiculously expensive otherwise an Auto store might be able to supply the clips. Same deal with the ones to hold fabric and plastic on interior panels such as the boot.
  23. Pick up the phone and call them. No one else will be able to provide you with the answer but the supplier.
