  1. If no one has an issue with me bringing a 280zx then I'm a strong possibility.....
  2. good point cowie, visibility is definatly limited at the rear, so you do need a good feel for the size of the car. I had a stillen type III wing on mine, and that reduced visiblilty even more. I would say that in general even an N/A model is probably not the best choice for a first car. They are very quick and in the wrong hands very dangerous. as I said before if he has his hart set on a nissan.... at the price range he is looking for, an S13 or N13/N14 might be a better/safer option... plus your mates fit in the car as well.

the fire works shots where NYE ones.. well what was partially visible from my balcony. And the rainbow lorikeets are my new neighbours, they visit me every day, sit on my kitchen window sill and wait for me to feed them apples.
  4. about 3 years ago now.... but look at it this way, you would probably have to pay something like that for a semi decent low km Z anyway, as they are hard to come by with original km's on the clock. Aus spec models are your best bet, as they generally have a good service history. If i had to hazard a guess, i'd say every single import has had it's km's wound back. Aslo, although the aus-spec is almost entirely identical to a jap model N/A apart from some negligable differences, the insurance will be alittle cheaper as well. Just remember it all comes down to what you pay for is what you get. $10K won't get you a very good condition car. Alot of mechanics won't touch it either as half of them can't even find the air filter. The mechanics that do work on the Z will charge you a fair bit, but some do a very good job and know thier stuff (insert plug for UAS here). Nissan will charge you through the nose for parts... best to hunt around for bits online or at the wreckers, or to buy aftermarket bits for it....
  5. i've allways maintained that it's a silly idea to have a gameing console in a car.... this being no acception to the rule. plus the car looks bloody ugly...
  6. The 300zx is a great car, most of the rumors are rubish. Anycar that has not been looked after will cost you a fortune.... Anyway for $10K forget the 300ZX you will be regreting it, as it probably will need abit of work. I spent $17K on my first 300ZX, it was an Aus spec model, so N/A and 2+2. immaculate condition, I wouldn't pay less than that for a Z or you will most likely get a rubbish car. Even the R32 will be worn out pretty bad for $10K I recon. Go for something alittle small first, maybe a s13 or something, and work your way up to a quicker car. thats my 2 cents....
  7. I'll have to go with madbung on this one.... although there are alot of examples of insurance companies having no problems acepting claims, I wouldn't put my faith in it. All you need is one guy looking after your claim to wake up from his/her slumber and realise they don't have to pay this claim... and if they reject your claim.... you don't have a leg to stand on... So it's great that alot of people have got away with it.... not everyone will and so it's not good advice to dispence...
  8. Although I probably shouldn't dispense info like this to young kids (as i could end up messy)...... Here is your loop hole get your parents to register the GST-T in thier name... (and insurer it... with you as the youngest driver) claim its the family's primary vehicle and fill out one of these babies.... clicky here you'll be leagally covered to drive plus covered by insurance as well. (Just remeber that everywhere you drive you will need to take the exemption letter with you or else your stuffed).
  9. Thanks for sorting it all out fro me shell
  10. I vote: Yes... get someone you don't like to poke it.... or a mate.... something funny might happen...
  11. spotted silver R33 stockish looking rims around midday today on walker st North sydney, big SAU sticker streching across the top of the rear window...
  12. i heard it's good with guacamole....
  13. I still say fry it!!!!
  14. roast it for a tasty mid afternoon snack...
  15. your probably right.... still I wouldn't put it past Nissan to ruin the Z format with an all wheel drive system and a V8... but I suppose if thats what the yanks want... it's probably what we'll all get...
  16. Hi Guys and Gals, not sure if anyones has seen this yet so I thought I'd post it up but current rumor circulating is Nissan possibly releasing a 450Z. Apparently would have a tuned 4.5 litre V8, i think that would have to be the VK45DE engine, Rumored to have approximatly 400 odd hp. Also talk of it being all wheel drive, although I'm of the opinion that it would no longer be a Z then.... It would be targeted at the porsche/maserati market. Here is an article... plenty more floating around the net about this... I don't like the idea that much, but what does everyone else here think?
  17. my forms were sent by snail mail on Friday..... how long do i have to wait? hehe... i'm just impatient dammit!

  20. The key is budgeting. Make sure that you only spend on things you really need and it also helps if your partner is understanding of your addiction for cars.... Then depending on your earnings/expenses and future prospects, you make the appropriate purchase. For example, i first owned a mirage then a civic before I could gather enough funds to get a 300zx. Made smart decision with my purchases to get a car that wasn't too expensive at first (honda) and wouldn't cost a fortune to run and maintain. then with enough cash in hand I took out a loan and paid it off quick smart to get a good credit rateing. also learn to service it yourself... you save a fortune doing it....
  21. not finding any differnce since i've switched to vortex 98, although when i had the 300zx i used to have a slight knock with the vortex... probably not experiencing that atmo cause the 280 isn't tuned as hard...
