Have bought it and it arrived just before Easter *I think* its the correct size to replace the ash tray, not sure how to wire it yet, the instructions are there, I'm just nervous about doing it and not 100% sure about where the wires are...

Police Corruption Aided By Political Corruption
some_cs_student replied to Taso84's topic in Victoria
Not if its the new underbelly series, the entire Sydney CID is corrupt -
Its a GTR, I've been lucky so far in that I've had few issues....clutch and transfer case in the past 9months of ownership of light-moderate modified GTR, but when you do have an issue you need to know costs. Blow the transfer case (unlikely but it happened to mine), $400 second hand. New clutch, between 1 - 2K Blow the stock turbo or engine rebuild and expect some serious $$$ I'm not saying the EVO6 is going to be much cheaper, I'm just saying that even if you get a nice GTR for <28K you need to know the costs if something is wrong, if looked after properly they usually do quiet well

Too much giant black text in this thread Guilt-toy, if you ever come to Melbourne I wouldn't mind a quick re-tune (not a full on expensive tune as that's been done before, only PowerFC though...)

Fastest Way To 400rwhp In R34 Gtr
some_cs_student replied to Justa32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Start searching, plenty of info on turbo choice on here, and why you should not aim for X kw without some purpose behind it... -
Hi, I took out my R33 GTR speaker pods (factory) along with the speakers, the speakers are terrible so don't think anyone will want them, but the pods someone may want. Just wondering, does anyone want them? Otherwise I'll throw them out... I've got 16mm MDF spacers in there now instead Thanks, Gareth

Sorry to side-track the thread, but I have an R33 with really bad radio reception. I have an adapter I bought from Autobarn, and my radio reception works but is extremely weak (I can't always receive Nova/Fox in most areas). I have a Pioneer headunit and I have disconnected the rear aerial unit because of this, I'm starting to think that maybe I should plug the aerial power back into it and disconnect the head unit to aerial wire. Would the aerial power cause issues like this? Really bad reception? I read a tip off here that you can disconnect it to stop it going up all the time due to the issues with Pioneer head units (always up even when using USB or CD)

You should probably repeat the above test in an R33 or R34 GTR, the ABS is much faster in them as per the above posts

What Will Give Me Better Sound Quality
some_cs_student replied to 3LGODZILA's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Try Mobileelectronics Australia. I'd saying duplicating the pre out's wouldn't be the best idea. I've got a Pioneer with USB that has 3 pre-out's, front, sub and rear is there, I'm only using front and maybe sub one day -
Water Spurting Out Of Overflow Tank
some_cs_student replied to GTAAAH's topic in General Maintenance
Any idea of water / oil temps? -
This looks identical to: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/RulesS...rdsInformation/ I've read it and agree with your ideas, but it will be interesting trying to convince law enforcement

Exhaust Noise Test For Epa
some_cs_student replied to GUN_METAL_GTR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Could you confirm what a "stock" exhaust is? Stock cat? Stock mufflers? Is it stock from the turbo/engine back? -
When Did The Site Become Nissans Australia?
some_cs_student replied to Jay_stylz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Nothing wrong with discussing non-Skyline related cars. In fact, there is no rule against non-Skyline members joining the club is there? I think variety isn't a bad thing, the culture/mindset of take it to the track is more important than the type of car been driven. Besides, whats the alternative? Ban non-Skyline threads? Many threads about other cars don't get the best advice anyway because some people on here are very nissan/skyline baised (it is a skyline forum ). -
How To Install Speakers Into Skyline Doors...
some_cs_student replied to Fhrx's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
A little late to answer and you probably know by now but anyway... 457mm x 812mm (or 0.371m^2) per Dynamat Xtreme sheet (from a bulk pack), so I used about 6 sheets or 2.226m^2. http://www.dynamat.com/technical_specs_dynamat_xtreme.html is 2.2kg/m^2 so therefore about 2450grams per door of sound deadening Or nearly 5kg all up. BUT, my speakers were big and I'd say they've added a bit, as did the spacers, as will the amp.....its a street car in the end, if I was worried about weight I'd remove the back seats during a track day (or the passenger seat) lol Required materials Just for anyone who is planning to do the sound deadening, I just completed my one on an R33 GTR. I used 5.4 sheets and a lot of offcuts, so about 6 sheets to do a thorough job (ie. more than an xtreme trunk kit). If you run out FHRX studios have good prices per sheet Time Sound deadening sounds relatively easy, how long could it take? I spent hours degreasing my doors, there was a ton of grease inside them, the outer door skin is extremely difficult to do and takes many hours, I spent a weekend on it Inner door skin is much easier although I had a lot of trouble removing the black glue from the door and the grease it left behind. Including spacers (which I had some issues with), I used 16mm spacers as I had large speakers (nearly 2.8inch depth), tweeters (used the standard place but not placed perfectly) and crossovers. Crossovers If you have really large crossovers (the ones I had were unusually big, they did power to woofer and tweeter!) above the support horizontal bar in the door was the only place the power window would go past it without knocking them down. Spacers/bolts Personally I used 16mm MDF, pretty extreme but the speakers are deep. I used 12G/25mm roof bolts from bunnings as replacements for the stock bolts and I threw away the standard plastic mount for the speaker. Weather Dynamat xtreme works without heat, but leaving it in the sun for a while does make it easier to work with and it seems to stick a little more easily... Good luck if you try it, once I have the amplifier I'll find out if it was worth it Oh, and Marty/FHRX, excellent guide and excellent customer service -
Best Sub $10k Performance Nissan?
some_cs_student replied to mooseman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
As above, if your very young, and don't have a full-time job that pays decently, I'd be avoiding a sports car. What are you aiming for? Straight line, buy a VL turbo! Corners? There's plenty of choice but going fast around corners costs more $$$. I think you need a goal first, do you want a car that looks fast? That you can afford to take to the track? To the drag strip? A dyno queen (not at 10K anyway ). Or do you want to spent 10K, get a decent Skyline, not have enough $$$ to maintain it, and sell it in a years time? Cash flow is as important as purchase price... -
Dropped by DT today, they certainly do warranty and very well, getting it repaired either next week or the week after (due to cruise )
-
Problem as in? My drivers side skirt has come loose from the body after been repaired about 4months ago, will find out how good they are at warranty pretty soon....probably this weekend... They're work is good, if you want excellent or your a perfectionist, you need to pay for it Should have mentioned I'm discussing DT Panels, not anyone else, and this is personal experience
-
Really? I didn't know that one Also, upgraded gearbox synchro's

You know you want to go Chinese Red Panda coloured! lol Not a big fan of orange plenty of other good colour's out there It really depends on how much this person likes attention, canary yellow maybe?
