  1. I wonder if the import duties / taxes are quite different between AU and NZ, AU is pretty high on the taxes
  2. I had a similar issue, it wasn't always a clear % difference, I made a tutorial on how I tweaked my speedo cluster to be more accurate. Do it at your own risk if you want it more accurate, or keep it the way it is and be happy your always under the limit (unless you feel the need to do 10km/h over on your speedo because you know its the right speed in km/h. lol).
  3. SQL server is easy to admin, but there are some limitations of things you just cannot tune. Where in Oracle, there is much more to tune but it also relatively harder to admin. Paulr33 have you worked with SQL server? Or just Oracle? 90% of my work has been with SQL server admin, but I've programmed in both SQL server and Oracle, I'm not a full-time DBA though....
  4. There are quite a few people in late 20's / early 30's that I've met. There are also some older members who are well over 30....
  5. You don't need to spend hundreds on cables, read mobileelectronics Australia about the cables arguments if you still think there is a difference in the cable. A good cheapish amp is probably something from the Jaycar store, but have a look on mobileelectronics Australia.
  6. Driver training was great, could have definitely done more sessions, there was too much waiting time in between sessions. Sessions were great excluding the last one, where the small Alfa passed me on the chicane, I saw he was stuck on the track later, not sure what happened. Oh, and during my last lap my kick panel fell out and my ECU ended up on the floor...
  7. Approx 6-9months ago, did not come back, but was a little further away from the strut itself, if your alternative is someone "cutting" the rust out or similar you might have to replace the strut tower.... Those little cracks don't look good near your strut tower, is that paintwork or something deeper? I only had surface rust...
  8. What? There is no phone impound yard? I mean the title of the post isn't even spelt correctly for a start but....
  9. I had more rust than you had around the strut tower area, had it over various parts of the car as surface rust. Used a metal brush on it to remove the surface rust re-sprayed with an anti-rust spray over it and its fine. I had rust converter but that's usually used only for deeper rust, I used anti-rust paint on top of it just in case I can't remember the exact details. The first "job" I had done for rust treatment, I could see the rust through it a month or two later, I think they just sprayed over it...
  10. Did you read the first page of the goods on oils sticky?
  11. Excellent cruise Wayne. Sorry to hear about the 180sx and the 2 skylines, I was a little behind you so I didn't see it but saw when you were pulled over, and heard it on the CB. The damage didn't look too bad but didn't get a good look. Looking forward to the next one, hopefully I'll try and meet some more people next time
  12. I believe its the rolling diameter that matters but do some searching, it has been discussed before...
  13. Just wondering, with all these 6-8K rebuilds, is that engine removed + rebuild + engine back in? Or is it 6K for the engine rebuilt + labor for installation / removal...
  14. I would disagree with that, if the fan is wrecked, once *warmed* up, the fan should be able to flick the screwdriver out, unless you use too much pressure on it If it doesn't then you probably had an issue, when my viscous was broken the car could get to 70 degrees oil/water temp, you could have 1 finger on the fan, start the car and it wouldn't move. The viscous should have tightened up by then and starting moving to cool it, the new one (brand new) after been warmed up, you couldn't hold it with a screwdriver after you started the car. However when cold, its obviously not going to resist been stopped very much EDIT: furthermore, when it was broken the fan would continue spinning after the engine shutoff when warm, after the new one was fitted it stopped fairly quickly if the engine was warm and turned off because it was starting to turn with the belt... EDIT2: original poster, can you try posting with a lot more information next time? Its hard to help people with no information. Its like posting "my 2way diff is not locking", well that's great, its not supposed to lock all the time
  15. o2 sensor results for my R33 GTR (not sure if its correct or not, just posting it), stock turbo's, tuned power FC. EDIT: posted *after* someone PM'ed me for information on this... Before starting the car: O2 1 = 0.02 O2 2 = 0.02 After starting, car begins to idle ~1600RPM while warming up (air temp was about 6 degrees in the car before I started): O2 2 = 0.04, the other one is the same. At 2K RPM with the oil / water around 70 degrees, it was still a little cold: 0.8 0.88 On the way home, after it was more likely to be fully warmed up, got it at 2000RPM at: 0.02 0.04 As soon as I dropped the revs back to idle one of the sensors would jump to 0.96 or similar temporarily and as soon as I went back to 2K RPM back to 0.02/0.04. Not sure if its good/bad, but I got ~44L for 420km or similar on the way back from NSW, mostly Hume Hwy ~110km/h and 5th gear, around 3K RPM, taking it very easy...
  16. Someone said you can get the viscous fluid re-filled, not sure how. I'd estimate your HP loss at zero, you may get some issues with cooling instead
  17. When I bled my system, you would turn on the ignition, and there would be a slight delay and the liquid starts coming out, it wasn't that slow but it took a while to get through the tank in the back of the boot. I turned the ignition on and off at least 5 times to make sure I gave the pump a break, there's a tutorial on this somewhere. The fact that its not pumping doesn't sound right...
  18. Have been with TPG for approx 5 years, if something breaks, there customer service is pretty poor. There call centres for support are not all in Sydney, they are at partially or mostly offshored. That said, there cheap and reliable, the system rarely fails, that said I wouldn't recommend to anyone non-technical or who is impatient, if you have the money there are better providers out there.
  19. I remember getting around 3K (looked like 2950RPM or similar) in 5th gear @ 110km/h on 235/45/17, R33 Speedo is slightly off by maybe 4km/h at this speed...
  20. The US government will own x% soon (I think its 60%), and they will not die as such, simply reduce there size...
  21. Tried the PowerFC FAQ? There should be a link off this forum or use google...
  22. R33 GTR, as per my sig, don't want to high-jack the discussion with my car specs/mods/et cetera The WRX thread on this is here no entry list yet
  23. ebay usually has them for sale, sometimes the manufacturers are in Melbourne....
  24. Did it come like that from Japan? I had a super small filter (not a Z143A, same thread about less than 1/2 the size, made it more challenging) and it had a metal exterior that got damaged by the time it was out....
