Stop been so pessimistic, maybe one day people will mature and we won't have so many issues on the street Or, taking the extremely pessimistic view, the police will simply have little devices in your car that prevent you from doing a burnout or exceeding 100km/h, unless of course you are a police/ambulance/fire truck ! Soooo anyway, where is this thread going? I think its lost its purpose

How Much More Power Will I Get
some_cs_student replied to Chris_GTR26's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
On 1 bar of boost, and an aftermarket cat, stock panel filters, aftermarket cam gears, power FC + quality tune I got 250RWKW. Usually it varies between 230 and 260RWKW but talk to your tuner... -
Gtr Drive Problems
some_cs_student replied to skyline-lemans's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Heavy steering? Dodgy speedo conversion? Japan is in km/h, what has it been converted to? Heavy steering may indicate the HICAS computer has been disconnected, but that is the 4 wheel steering system, not sure which models get the heavy steering, I know the R33 does... -
Lol, ok, but "SAU Vic" would be enough for most people anyway Back on topic, its disappointing to see that car with SAU stickers make the news, I don't think the member watching the act is *that* bad. But I don't think its appropriate for the club, that the member should consider or be advised to remove the stickers... I would completely disagree with any kind of membership cancellation or suspension, everyone does stupid stuff, he wasn't even doing anything illegal, simply watching an illegal act. To the person who used the example of watching a murder, if you watch a drag race is it the same as you been in the drag race ? I don't think so...

Rb26 Oil Filter Removal Help Needed Now!
some_cs_student replied to kidafa's topic in General Maintenance
How? The transfer case or front diff is below the oil filter on RB26's, there is nearly no room to go in there from underneath. I had several people attempt to remove my oil filter, tried a few oil filter wrenches and removal tools, eventually a very strong mechanic just put his hand in there and was able to remove it Hopefully your one hasn't been done up super tight... -
Trust Greddy Coilovers
some_cs_student replied to Taxi_This's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you search there was a topic on optimum ride height and it was mainly R33 based, 350/340 comes to mind but can't remember if that was for the GTR or not (centre of wheel to guard)... -
Tractions Issues Gtr
some_cs_student replied to GT-R32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes, I've seen the inside, not that complex really The $1K rebuild should include the clutchpack's I believe, and you pay more $$$ if you want a stronger transfer case (better clutchpacks), RacePace do them in Victoria. Award (gearbox and clutch?) do them in NSW or QLD, I cannot recall where they are located. -
Sent off CAMS registration today via mail, faxed off the driver training entry form to the WRX club and organised the $$$. Anyone else doing driver training? Didn't want to slow more experienced members down on the track

Did anyone find the, we're making "454 million" from speeding fines, and that is expected to increase? I cannot remember which budget report it was in....but its crazy. Speaking of speed, I'm still trying to work out why everyone does 50km/h in a 60km/h zone on the way to work, but tailgates me in a 40km/h school zone, and blocks the keep clear zones.

Be careful how accurate you make it, changing the tyres will also change things... But, yes it can be done on a bench, see the very first link at the top of my original post for the tutorial, you'll have to register but the 10page discussion of "Propper speedometer to MP/h conversion" has the information you need, not sure if anyone did it with an Impul Speedo, but they tested with stock and Nismo versions I believe...

Gearbox - Redline Oil Vs Royal Purple
some_cs_student replied to reNEGaDe88's topic in General Maintenance
Based on what information? I've already quoted the Redline Australia website and a Redline book I saw, is this personal experience or something? -
Sorry, for some reason I thought the GTR's lights were different between series 1 and 2. It ust be GTST's only. I have series 3 xenons, nice car by the way

Tractions Issues Gtr
some_cs_student replied to GT-R32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I personally went down the path of second hand (R33 transfer case), and paid $400 for a second hand transfer case to be fitted, in my case I it wasn't the clutch pack that went, it was a shaft... -
I'm sure its been posted many times before but I can't find anything when searching right now. Anyway, different front, the series 2 are slimmer looking at the front. The wheel is smaller, the series 1 steering wheels look more like a commodore wheel. You should be able to search and find pics, or just look at CarSales or similar and you'll see the difference, most '96 model skylines are series 2, not all. Compare to the 95 models, there should be a visible difference on the steering wheel and front bar / headlights...

JAGR33 is certainly an experienced member, but I have to disagree, its different on the GTST's: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...1-2-t17349.html I'm sure its different on GTR's as well, series 2 and 3 are the same, but I do believe series 1 and 2 are different.

Tractions Issues Gtr
some_cs_student replied to GT-R32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Risking, can you PM me where you got your transfer case(s) rebuilt? I was quoted close to 1K or more for a rebuild, and even more if I wanted a stronger clutch pack in there..... -
Can someone do me a big favor and confirm its ok to sign up for a CAMS L2S license on the day? Or should I start organising one before I get there?

Castrol have a technical help line, why not give them a call and ask? Its on there website

Tractions Issues Gtr
some_cs_student replied to GT-R32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Good luck, if your transfer case was really, dead, the car becomes un-drivable, when my one died, I could release the clutch and the car would not stall (clutch had 1-2mm left on it, transfer case was broken). -
Flush it well when switching to RBF600 or 5.1 to 4.0 or vice-versa, there are known issues that some brake fluids aren't supposed to be mixed together...
