Skyline Jumpers - Do They Still Exist?
some_cs_student replied to some_cs_student's topic in Victoria
They don't have pics on the website: http://www.sauvic.com.au/merchandise Black jumper with "GTR" written on it but couldn't find any pics...PM Bec she can provide more info. -
While I don't agree with your discussion of creatine I haven't done extensive research on the subject. What's your definition of a high protein diet? And what adverse effects? I've never seen any such negatives of eating high protein diets, where are you researching? pubmed?
-
Yes, and opinion of the balance varies, the group on Nissan Silvia talked about 35/50/15 in the ratio of calories from protein/fats/carbs. Where carbs/protein contained 4calories per ? and the fat was 9 calories for an equal sized serving. The important part was the fats are Omega 6/3 in a ratio of 2:1, eating saturated fat won't help you much at all

Hi, I had a quick look on the SAU Vic website and I can see the polo shirts but do the GTR/SAU jumpers still exist? Where can they be bought from? Thanks, Gareth

Signing Up For Sandown Track Day This Sunday?
some_cs_student replied to bonestorm007's topic in Archived Events
Wrong section, but who's hosting the event? If it was SAU its normally in the events section and you have an email / supplementary regs section. If its drivers dynamics they are a private company and you can call them.... -
If you don't mind driving, Traction Tyres rowville does an excellent job, they are not cheap, I think I paid ~$110 for a 4 wheel alignment but they tune the settings carefully EDIT: at Traction Tyres you can actually see them working...lol

And here's a quote from the Aus website which is under less legal restrictions compared to the USA in terms of oil usage, from http://www.redlineoil.com.au/oil-finder.asp : I'm not recommending either way for a Getrag gearbox, just want to disagree for the entire it doesn't work with synchro's argument.

Gearbox Or Clutch Problem
some_cs_student replied to blx's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks, I've had the same issue since I bought my car, had the diff re-built, changed oil twice now, still whines, I guess it will need a recondition at some point -
I wrote a thread on how to tweak your speedo by small amounts, there is a MP/H to KM/H conversion too but that might not help you. There is another tutorial about adjusting your speedo using an electronic calibrator from Jaycar, that may help you...

Penrite Sin 75 ?/sin 80 ?
some_cs_student replied to BASHO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Does this help? hypoid lubricant for read (sic) differential? Apparently hypoid oils are for hypoid gears .... -
I'm guessing the read "this" thread above didn't get through. Read this thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...58#entry4848358 That is the workshop manual the manual on the web is NOT the workshop manual, its the engine manual only and yes its not legal to download a copy...
-
There's tutorials on that kind of thing JPNZ would probably sell you a manual but they cost $$$
-
Really nice, interested in how much that cost....one day lol
-
Sorry to ask a really stupid question, I've read the discussion and its interesting, one thing I'm getting confused on is the definition of capacity. I always thought capacity was based on physical size, like the capacity of a cubed container of a certain size might be say 30L. In terms of engines, whether its 2 stroke or 4 stroke, do we measure them both by the physical capacity? And is that measured by the size of all the cylinders combined? Or something else...just send me a link to read Thanks P.S. I purposely did not ask about rotary / wankel because I'm not interested in starting another page of debate...

Buy Gtr Or Dont Buy Gtr
some_cs_student replied to Pepsinator's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
+1 no GTR, not good daily drivers (yes that's debatable), engine rebuild is ~6-8K, your tyres cost $$$, even your windscreen will cost $250 where a ford/commodore windscreen costs $150. Even if you have the money I'd still say stay away until you are older and more mature -
I've seen vendors selling them for $2500 a pair but its not the one I want (it was a -5) and its +$200 or so to get the gaskets et cetera. I'm not currently purchasing, I'm looking at buying a house first so that will be a slight delay EDIT: I am interested in the difference in the turbines. Also I've seen an NZ seller selling HKS GTSS for $3100 as a kit plus $75 postage

Hi, Hopefully no one in Vic will mind, I've opened a group buy thread here in regard to the full (not just engine) R33 workshop manual. JPNZ has offered a discount if we group buy so if your interested just reply to the group buy thread or PM me. The normal price is $150NZ, or ~$130AU printed and delivered I believe. Saving money on postage by posting to a single address is a possibility but that's only if there is enough interest from a particular area/state/common place where everyone can get there copy If anyone else knows another Australian forum/group that might be interested in the group buy please tell me, I haven't got a price yet as I need an estimated number of purchasers and then I can get a confirmed price... Regards, Gareth

I've had them repaired cracked glass on R31 headlight's before. I don't think the car-type is relevant, they work on headlights, they keep stock of the more common models headlights but they can repair too....
-
The reply I got on high-flowing GTR turbo's ended up within ~$100 of buying Garett 2860/2560 turbo's new (if you used the ball bearing version). And other forum sponsors were selling the garett turbo's cheaper than Hypergear...

Try Marty at FHRX, $40/sheet is expensive! I remember paying about $25/sheet roughly.

Spoke to him, if we can get a group together to buy them he has an Australian account and he could offer us a discounted rate. Created a new thread here for an EOI for a group buy. If we don't get the numbers then no discount, but if we do get a few numbers there then we can get a discounted rate *and* deposit into an Australian bank account.... Regards, Gareth
