  1. After this thread was raised, decided to try out Partsouq , my order was in the air with DHL within 12 hours, and was in Brisbane and cleared through customs after another 24 hours, its now on hold at DHL Brisbane which is typical, very frustrating to know it got to Australia in 36 hours but have been informed the last 35kms to my place will take another 5 days. This is typical of the sh*t service we get domestically.
  2. I got my Auto Stagea motor off Gumtree 120,000k's bores were like new and Dose Pipe i'm no idiot I rebuilt too, sensible people do, search the net everyday and you will find, Good luck and welcome to the rich and rewarding often frustrating Skyline world.
  3. Well the standard auto we have has cried enough, this is after three months of trying to get the standard RE4R01A to play nicely with the nistune ECU much more work required by Nistune to supply auto ready ECU's methinks I own many TCU's now trying to make the box work properly. It did'nt like the torque produced by the 30/25 from day 0ne. So today it went in for conversion to a Z32 TT auto the RE4R03A also used in different configuration in Patrol, Joel at JD Auto is fitting a manual valve body , modified torque converter new flex plate to suit and modified tailshaft, oil cooler and normal pattern gate shift . Should be good for 600 hp according to previous conversions. I am looking forward to loosing the TCU and finding out how hard the car really goes without flare ,slip and not changing up.
  4. Haven't used these guys but I have used Amayama they were awesome most of the parts came from Nissan dealers stock in Dubai, a couple from Japan, All arrived together quickly. www.amayama.com/en. Hope this helps
  5. You need to de-pin either the male or female plug that feeds the power to the motor and reverse the pins one side only of course, its easy I had the same problem when I fitted a Z32 motor to mine.
  6. starting two identical threads hasnt helped mate, did u see my response to your other thread. If you machine the crank you will need appropiate size ie undersize bearings. Pull the bloody engine apart and start measuring and observing, you need to solve why did it run a bearing in the first place. Until the engine is opened up you are just guessing.
  7. your options will be dictated by what you find inside. If they are knocking you will not get away with linishing the journals you may as well resign yourself to a crank grind at best and a replacement crank at worse.
  8. Well yes, I think you should consider the added thickness. When I built my 30 I added the correct amount of oil exactly, and after first start immediately checked where it was on the stick, as a double check. Hope that helps.
  9. The dipstick and tube should match the sump you are using, I used the 30 sump and dipstick/tube, you use the 26 dipstick/tube with the awd alloy sump. You are over thinking this.
  10. No worries, also googling genuine numbers often leads to aftermarket products and local stockists. Good luck
  11. Simple Answer to a simple question, google is your friend and not using it before asking on a forum will always generate unhelpful or scornful responses. Try looking them up yourself on http://nissan.epc-data.com .
  12. My dear wife always bragged she felt so safe when I was driving, until I drove off the ferry in Calais on the correct side of the road then went the wrong way round the first roundabout we encountered and I was driving a left hand drive...total brainfart.
  13. I had no problems when I worked in North Plains, Oregon, my mate Dave and I drove an old Chevy V8 regularly up to Seattle, The locals were ok drivers, don't personally understand their obsession with the freeways, we made some very fast trips avoiding them. Had an awesome adrenaline flowing drive down Mt St Helens behind a snow plough driven by a guy with massive nuts. Mind you for weeks we would pull out of work ,with a couple of local yanks on board, onto the left side of the road then swerve back onto the right when they started screaming, it never got old.
  14. July is the hottest month in Anchorage with an average temperature of 58°F (15°C) and the coldest is December at 18°F (-8°C). 15 celcius is not exactly warm and morning start temp is around 11, but he doesn't live there anyway.
  15. Agree with all, tweak away, Just a little worried he lives in Anchorage. I should have said my new build engine uses 10W/40. I would have no qualms using 20W/50. But i'm also an oil change fanatic, cheapest insurance on wheels.
  16. Watched/Listened to that vid, can't say I can hear rod Knock, could hear valve train working. Have you tried stethoscoping around the engine or long screwdriver to ear. If you hear a dull knock that way. remove ignitor to that cylinder and listen again if knock gone well you know its that cylinder. But my old ears could not hear anything tearing itself apart in the vid. Got my fingers crossed its your brain screwing with you. I personally run 10w/40 semi synth the original oil for these motors was 20w/50 which was the good oil in the early 90's. In Oz its hot all year round by Japanese standards I dont know where in USA you are, oil can make a difference at idle of course. Wishing you a good outcome.
  17. Yep Mid sixties , my old man never really told me how he knew Jack. Can you imagine four Red Bull Renaults parked up beside the road in the local garage and anyone can walk up unsupervised for a gander.
  18. I did mean Lance Stroll his father and mother are both billionaires and pay for his ride. Its easy to influence third party sponsors I mean, when you own Canada. It works like this...Advertising your company name on the rear wing on an F1 car could set you back $25 million per season depending on the team. Somewhere less prominent like the wing mirrors may still cost $5 million per season. Hence why for $25Mil. it says Aston Martin on a Renault powered RB14.
  19. Ron and Jack had an unusual partnership that more than once involved Jack completely ignoring his advice and discarding" improvements" Ron devised. The Jack Brabham Garage was just around the corner from my grandfathers house in the UK and as a kid my late father introduced me to the "not yet Sir" Jack. Couldn't believe, what seemed to me a Giant of a man, squeezed into those tiny F1 cars of the day, Those same BT19s were parked on the forcourt of the garage amongst the Mini Coopers that Jack used to sell. Sadly that garage is now a block of flats. Jack worked building Coopers racing cars years before he set up with Ron and it is a truth the respect Cooper held for him because selling Cooper products was how he earned enough to pay Ron, and win a World Championship. You have probably gathered i'm pretty old from the above, and I was lucky enough to see and hear the Repco Brabham V8 used again in a Torana LC GTR driven as a Group c by Bob Jane. I believe I said Verstappen's old man was as rich as god, and yeah ive seen him drive. The old man i mean. Disagree about Red Bull think you will find its third party still found by dad.
  20. Love the F1 have loved open wheeler action all my life, Just sad that pure talent is no longer the measuring mark of a works driver but who's daddy brings the most cash Verstappen's old man is as rich as god and pumps 25 odd million a season into the team so his little lad can have the best car in the garage. Same with Lance Stroll, and a couple of others Hamilton did the hard yards but Daddy bought his first drive at Mclaren Young Drivers. Unfortunately bravest and best are another thing of the past, the future of F1 is he with the most gets the drive. Long gone are the Jack Brabham days still the only bloke to design, build and drive to a World F1 championship. His third World championship in a BT19 powered by an all aussie repco Brabham V8 How could you lose interest easily.
  21. Hey mate im putting a RE4R03A in a 93 series 1 coupe ,have you any advice about fitting, any panel beating required? Would help to know the difficulties before starting.

  22. Amayama can supply new out of Japan, intake valve - 1320105U00 USD32 exhaust valve 1320205U01 USD35 I bought mine from them and they arrived in a week, sorry you will need to look up the lifter number I didnt need any.
  23. I went with N1 pump for the conversion with no change to oil restrictors, plus Nitto crank collar. Best setup IMHO
  24. I was quoted 1501005U12 as a part number for the N/A pump but don't trust it, my local Nissan Stealer Parts Guy is incredibly Stupid. He proved it during my 25/30 neo conversion, just couldn't get his head around the idea.
  25. Neo inlet ports are around 3-4 mm smaller all round, may not sound like much but flow over a step like that would be crap.
