  13. my colleague was the R&D lab boss at BHP Bluescope for 10+ years, about 15 years ago. his house was one of the first full steel frame houses built (25+ years ago), on a concrete slab - using experimental steels at the time. it's still solid as a rock. thing is, when you want to knock out a wall, it's a bit more of a challenge. needless to say, he is a mega-old bloke!
  14. that is a big core! the other alternatives I would suggest are, as long as you're not running the factory airbox & resonator on the passenger side: 1. passenger side, flat mount with a hole cut out of the under tray, ducting from the front bar down onto the core; 2. passenger side, cut out inner guard and fit core in the cut out, duct from the front bar cut out to the core; Both ways you are forcing clean cool air over the core. Make sure that, as beer baron eluded, that you allow an exit to the airflow - if you don't the core will be pretty much useless.
  15. all this talk of metal cats... why not go back to a big capacity ceramic jobbie? realistically you're going to lose max of 5kw (at a guess) to a big ceramic vs a metal, but you'll not melt the sucker or collapse it. your tune may ruin the catalylic qualities pretty quickly, but it'll do the same on a metal cat too. ceramic jobbies will do just fine.
  16. come on marko, just get longer lines! passenger side is the go.
  17. yeah i was going to ask whether you should get a pair of hats made up to AP rotors? they would surely not be too much more than what a Project Mu would be?
  18. this is very interesting. what sort of bottom end improvement could this yield on an RB26?
  19. oh yeah, and since the aussie dollar is SO strong against the Yen, that makes a japanese pad cheap??? lol
