  1. awesome mate i figured this was the route you were going to go, do it right. i want to replace these on my project 89 r, if you can send me a link to where you got those that would be awesome mate. I've been looking for a set but I'm not the best at finding parts and being stuffed in a small town in Canada my resources are small.
  2. can you have the head machined(skimmed) with the valves still in the motor?
  3. when I buy a skyline I always feel I looked at every inch before i buy it. then when I get it home im like wtf how did not see this, that, rust, ding, tick tock motor lol. maybe its the passion or excitement at time of purchase but im sure your not the only one that's missed a few things here and there! if those are the worst spots on the (from pics) then she definitely savable! i crashed my car this summer and thought it was unfixable, my quarters were f***ed and my side skirts were pushed in, lots of other damage too. amazing what talented people can do to fix that type of damage. good luck mate dollars and hours will be flying out the window like trump at the white house. cheers.
  4. The rivets seem to fit much tighter the higher you get your leg up in the air. Very important if you can get both legs up in the air even better. Carbon exhaust shield to cover up the bunged burnt area from my exhaust
  5. ahh she will be a gem when your done with this one. nice to see her in the hands of someone who can fix it properly. good luck mate. your dad is a deadly dude, if my father ever said he wanted to go halfers on a gtr id drop dead in my tracks lol. anyway i dont follow many threads but this ones gunna sick. cheers.
  6. i am also in the process of having a little shop made...i was wondering if you think its worth it to get the floor epoxied? They say its easier to clean but i truly like the finish you have on your better. let me know your thoughts mate.
  7. i hope this video works, this is a nice little secret spot i know about on my way home. making the best of the snow while the gtr gets wellness program this winter. cheers enjoy its a peaceful watch. GOPR3363_Trim (3).mp4
  8. I really wanted to try one of these manifolds and not spend 3k on a hyper tune. I must say I’m very happy with the quality, 1200 to my door with fuel rail and throttle👍 Thanks np boosted for the hook up. Also redid the rega’s with some sand paper and some spray bomb action. About 10 hours sanding and 1 hour painting and they look pretty good for 50 bucks. Cheers mates single build starting right away just waiting for the manifold
  9. nice work mate what a mess around. go smack through some gears and enjoy
  10. nice setup mate looks peaceful. great place to tuck away and enjoy some cars while the world remains f****d in the head. nice cars too. cheers mate slowly going through your thread there's some nice stuff here.
  11. thanks mate, keep in touch im gunna have a bunch of single turbo swap stuff going on in the next couple weeks. probably have some more questions along the way. gunna use my stock motor thats in the car to plumb everything up and then when the built motor is done i will swap it in and crank boost way up. cheers thanks again your help is always well helpful not a bunch of bullshit and false info.
  12. If anyone knows where I can get a carbon side skirt extension send me a link👍 I’m looking for the full length not just the rear skirt pod.
  13. Couple carbon pieces installed before we start the big budget build this week. Made some room on the pool table. I really was sceptical about changing the look of it but I actually really like it! Replica jun eBay lip and trunk bonnet fit pretty good👍
  14. Off to the machine shop today with block and head wish us luck mates! Slippery slope equals empty wallet and then some. Fack it rb power oil issues for life send it. Some pictures of the bores prior to. Looked good to me for a boner doner motor. Bottom picture is of our head mechanic master engine installer.
  15. hey mate, i poured both atf and the fluid coming out of my diff into 2 different cups. as i slowly poured them out into the bin you could see the fluid from the diff was draining much slower so proably gear oil and yeah definitly smells like gear oil. as stated probably a lsd fluid...i know my front diff is stock i think it is still acceptable for lsd fluid to be in a non lsd diff correct. i will switch it to my desired fluid with my quaiffe just comfirming if this is true about the lsd fluid in non lsd diff.
  16. well done mate, go smack some gears and enjoy.
  17. It smells like gear oil deadly but that could just be from being in there for so long in now smells like gear oil....I dunno everything seems fine tho....
  18. hey guys i am heading to the machine shop with my motor i bought to build for 800hp tomorow. So i figured id finish the tear down real quick as i already have the head off. the front left axle boot was still in the front diff so i figured id start there. grabbed my special tool i made to hit it out and 3 wacks later it popped out as it should. i was greeted with a bunch of red fluid pouring out.... i was really expecting to see a normal colour gear oil come out and when i saw what i swear is atf i almost shit myself. the diff gears etc look fine. my question is has anyone ever seen a red gear oil before? i pulled the filler plug and sure enough its full of red what i think is atf. the only gear oil i ever saw that was a different colour before was that shitty redline fluid that is blueish. anyway any input would help. will the diff be damaged if it was ran with atf, and hgas anyone ever seen red gear oil. those are the questions im concerned about.
  19. if you don't have some cut up twisted, grinded, or bent wrenches and sockets collecting in your shop your car either runs really good or you have a mechanic lol. Most my wrenches end up grinded or bent up in some way along the line to fit just right in wierd places on weird skyline jobs. hope the job goes well mate get that boost cranked up mate.
  20. nice mate, little off topic but im fully convinced that use of a high zinc oil on the stock rb engines is also a great thing to do helps hold oil on engine components great for older motors i don't know about new rebuilt. cheers good luck with studs. this is a link for what i use here in Canada, sure you guys got something better or much like it down under. Premium Protection 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil AMO - AMSOIL
  21. ive been running 23 psi on a stock motor now for 3 years, no issues with -5's. people get caught up on all this shit on forums and think they need to spend 30k for a strong motor...then put it together wrong and the 30k race engine is in the bin while the stock motor gets put back in and ran for years. sure in cases money needs to dumped but not at 450hp. I've seen this many times with rb motors and unless going for some serious power keep it uncracked...ill take a well maintained stocker over a sketch built motor any day at 450hp.... but that's my 2 cents. if your not smacking your limiter and over revving it all the time they seem to last quite long. usually poor maintenance and driving habits that seems to kills them. look how much power the motive gtr made before it popped. they tougher than everyone makes them out to be. have faith in your rb mate!
  22. i had an issue like this ended up being the wiring harness to the coilpacks. the clips were broken and couldnt fit tight and would act up from time to time. i have a gtr not a gts but i also have seen cas act up, and poor grounds and wiring. ive also seen bad batteries/connections cause all kind of issues. i had an issue on my sti someone picked up power from the coilpack feed wire and it was shorting out on my clutch pedal(shittty after market gauges), causing random misfires and poor running. i pulled all the aftermarket wiring and gauges my problem was solved. thats my 2 cents.
  23. ok ill go this route forsure and yeah they are probably on revision 16 or 17 i should of thought of that, thanks for the help good chap. i do agree with you on the -5 to -15 its a cake walk! -30 to -45 for 35 years gets to a guy. let my dog out to eat this morning full size lab lasted 3 minutes feet were frozen. no joke mate but nice wood stove in the garage keeps the gtr's warm n toasty year round
  24. if someone can explain to me what i need to tell my machine shop for this prp brace that I had rush shipped from sydney that would be awesome(non intergrated caps). i do have a rough idea just want to hear it fresh from someone that has been through it and knows 100 percent. seems like the machining is different throughout rb30 rb25 2wd 4wd etc, so please only need explanation for rb26 block thanks mates!
