  1. nice work mate, old mans gunna have a sick unit when your done.
  2. ok ben, i own a skidsteer for moving trees, but have with it a long set of forks i use it to move hunting shacks around. ill try the subframe way thats the way rashid wanted to do it. cheers
  3. couple examples from the saddle....nice footage anda good break from looking at car stuff as there's a lot of that on this site obviously lol. paying for parts.mp4 paying 4 parts.mp4
  4. i can relate it to how i cut a tree down...yeah once we have the branches off i could drop a giant log in someones back yard almost everytime and cut up when on ground. but much safer to take small chunks the whole way down until the tree is gone. eliminates the danger of crushing someones house. the more i think about it it was and is a stupid way to get the motor out. oh well lessoned learnt
  5. forsure bro. im going to start practicing the way you are doing it from now. i know its good advise and yeah all fun and games till you drop your motor on your car or yourself and then yeah not good. i respect my cars and my motors and should do it proper. yes my way works and it very fast but rushing always gets me in trouble so going into turtle race mode to finish this build. keep in touch good mate and thanks for the advise.
  6. it was a full send forsure....and ill tell you who does that ben. me mate, haha i guy who doesnt know near as much as you guys and just trys really hard lol.
  7. haha my mate this is exactly what rashid said...hes like dude this is beyond sketchy hahah. great entertainment at the end of day for me. last 10 years is just how i have learnt to pulled them out like this no issues. i climb trees that can kill me everyday so this doesnt scare me. ive been farming for almost 25 years now and we werent big internet people ten years ago and this is just how i learnt to do it. i did a push conversion as mine was pull, so will make life that much easier lowering the motor once the goodies are one. ive never had a nice engine so this will be the first one i lower and mate to gearbox after so i dont damage anything and can lower it in without an angle. i figured id do it how i did on my grey gtr and mount the motor with loose nuts on the mounts, raise gearbox to motor get all the bolts i can, lower the tail and finish starter and top bolts, done. i dunno i a farmer and a stupid canadian any critism or help i always value! thanks again good mates.
  8. non of this would be possible without help from my old time friend rashid. he is a 20 year fabricator, engine builder, tuner, and project manager ofcar trasnformation like mine. nice quiet guy that has built some really nice supras in the past so i figured id suck him to the dark side of the rb world. we pulled this thing like a couple farmers was nice and entertaining
  9. Well we finally got the rb out 5 hours later uhhh duuhhhh pulled I don’t know how many rb’s I seem to forget to take the shifter off everytime lol. Oh well went real quick once I finally realized I forgot to pull the shifter. Went till midnight and we were greeting with some more nice parts. Start stripping motor in am and will keep posted.
  10. Well we finally got a bay open and started tearing out the motor and transmission for the single build. Lots of prp goodies soon to be posted. Gunna run the stock motor this year at 22 psi then throw in the built long block we are building right now at machine shop. and then full send mates. Dead broke loving every minute of it.
  11. real st performance in Florida took the entire kit back and sent me back a kit with way better rods and cp pistons with a 9.0.1 compression at no charge so worked out in the end. there legit and always help there customers so that was nice.
  12. yeah forsure bro dont rush it. i rushed my build spent way to much creates stress and takes the fun out of it. go at your own pace with fixing it and just enjoy. more to life than cars as much as we do love them.
  13. its definitely not a crack but more or less a scuff on the outside as if you were removing a bit of material to balance them. i know weakness in surface of any metal is like a crack in a window keeps getting worse then fails. but it seems to be a very small surface scuff and i think the wpc treatment will take care of it. research the wpc treatment if you are unfamiliar. the discolouring line from the small scuff is from wat ever scuffed the rod its not a crack just may look like that in picture. i think it just lightly touched something when being packaged.
  14. good on yeah mate. glad to help when i can hows things going with the car.
  15. Well a nice casual -44 today lol so no trees went for a nice rip in the ol rusty sti and Finally got my full valve train from super tech today. Double valve springs, super tech valves, buckets, guides, blah blah. Once the kelford 272 10 lift cams show up will have the head finished. Big box of prp parts showed up today too sooo some nice rb26 porn in that box too I’ll post it once I crack the cardboard open.
  16. not being rude but if you haven't already printed out the service manual for your car I highly recommend that...for the r32 gtr its about a 600 page printer hit. may seem old school but it works and has great diagnostic steps throughout for solving issues like this.
  17. i agree with gtsboy, fix the neutral switch. coolant system could probably use some love. if you do the thermostat make sure you put it in properly. ive learnt this the hard way on my rb26....little jig pin likes to be at 12 o clock ended up doing the job twice.
  18. man ben i seriously value your threads and information. I read lots when i can and you have answered endless questions for me. guys like us over here in canada would be stuck without great mates like yourself when it comes down to the nitty griddy stuff! cheers hope all is well mate with the cars, just got all my parts so will be throwing that motor together soon.
  19. lol would have better luck fitting a golf ball through a garden hose, ended up striping the whole head and porting it anyway so she will be bare at the machine shop. good to know for future tho so dont have to remove the head components everytime. thanks mates
  20. nice whip mate, looking forward to seeing more on this car. still having issues with it?
  21. have they put the new technology into the 6766 yet? my understanding the 6466 is still the better turbo. i was going to go the 6766 and was talked out of it by a few members sayings makes same power with less response.
  22. 350-400should be enough??? come on now mate take a walk on the wild side and boost er up! jsut kidding that car is sick at any power level im just jealous. nice ride mate. would be quite the unit with a 6466 tho just saying. let the slippery slope begin mate come on build that motor and crank that ol girl.
  23. Was weighing out my rods this morning at the shop and found something that raised my attention....I am wpc treating the rods so I don’t think it’s a huge deal. But I’m a newb so to the knowledgeable mates wouldn’t mind your 2 or 3 cents, even 4 cents if I’m lucky haha, Cheers. I’m either binning the whole set of rods or running the ones I got not messing around with ordering a single. The last photo is what all the other rods look like on both sides. Fakin pissed about this but may be no issue.
  24. hey ben we must think alike this is my favourite band. anyways devin townsend hes good shit too. DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT - Deadhead (Live at Royal Albert Hall) - YouTube
