man some boring classic responses lol i didn't expect much less, and also im just going to test my 4 inch titanuim pie cut intake against just a simple bend 4 inch aluminum intake with a k & n on the dyno. i highly doubt pie cuts rob power and yeah might effect airflow a bit but i bet we arent even gunna notice on the dyno. oh well time will tell lm also going to test it against that shitty screen i bought too. im suprised no one likes the titanium intake idea oh well. anything to disagree i guess lol i knew this post was going to get roasted. its clear that a simple bend it smarter in everyway but also fricken boring through my eyes mate. im looking for ideas from people that went a different route with something unique and different than picking the 90 aluminum bent pipe off the ground and throwing a filter on it with a cheap box around it...cheers

thanks mate. i come from the tree cutting industry i know all about keeping crap out of motors with proper filtration and intake boxes(wood chippers, 1 tons, forestry trucks take a beating from saw dust, even the sti and every car on the block..) soo i should know better. not a bad piece for the show or the odd photo shoot stuff.....but yeah im just going to order some titanium pie cuts and make one...just gunna forget the carbon thing as i dont have anyone that can as you say lay up carbon in my area. 95 percent of people dont know what a skyline is mate just a different world on this end of the woods. yes lots of gtrs in canada but i live in river manitoba canada not a jdm car over 500hp within 1000km exept mine and a few others...if someone has a problem they come to us..ya pathetic lol. but i can get titanium from vibrant at a good cost so ill come up with something. i was going to run it to a modded arc box but to beefy and just not the route im going. im going with a titanium pie cut tube to a custom box of some kind. just wanted to visually see what the mates have done to get my wheels turning. my custom box i want to also hold my washer fluid nicely tucked. will match custom catchcan and overflow on other side...cheers not one bay posted yet come on now.

i dont know much about it but i have a pretty cool little slip valve system that came with the kit havent set it up yet, might save my gearbox a little, maybe not. ill pm you info in it. cheers ben. keep the pictures coming mate! -
Looking for a carbon universal intake or anything that will work to finish my build. in anyone has any leads on one, preferrably something hi end. if not im just going to make a titanium one but i got alot of carbon parts on the outside of my car and will work nice with my engine bay in my opinion. one picture below of my bay, all the pipes are being powdered chrome black, and my rad will be a hypertune v2 with hypertune intake manifold also powder coated chrome black with kelford black camgears and nitto clear cover, cheers. feel free to post all your engine bays with rb singles for ideas. could be a not bad thread really of just a bunch of crazy single engine bays. I have a lot of other ideas of where to mount my catch can, coolant collector, over flow, washer spray, making alot of custom aluminum stuff but again will all be chrome black . (abs deleted now with gktech kit with clutch line) post some single bays mates cheers!

hey benny boy nice work mate. fill me in on your carbon clutch ideas. ive always stayed away from carbon clutch cause we have colder weather and if sitting at the drag all day they seem to slip if cold....i dunno dumb canadain only one experience i had with carbon clutch wasnt well. cheers mate build is getting close it seems -
done deal mate. ill fab some up tomorow and pm you for an address. cheers mate keep hammering down!

sorry mate wasnt trying to post pics of my engine or wreck your thread. just showing you what i did for setup. i used to rap it around with a strong ratchet strap much like you have, i kept wrecking or scratching things slightly so i figured out a better way. only took me 10 ten engine pulls before i manned up and did 30 minutes of welding. i think your car is setup awesome and enjoy your thread. cheers. i was even thinking of making the engine pluckers really nice and having them annodized purple and maybe just keep them on there. i kind of like them lol and could make them look much cooler. might even send you a set for a good mate haha.

sorry for the double post but fab up some brackets to lower your motors mate will make your life way easier and you wont scratch up your cast and pan. these are the ones we made. 2 bolts and 2 nuts job done mate. i use a small ratchet strap to the transmission bellhousing just to pickup some slack and weight of the transmission and away i go. cheers your build looks awesome
-
ya i got beaked from a few mates not to long ago for doing it this way. way easier than rotating the transmisison up and in and dropping it on your chest(well for a gtr). not fun. i did this with gtr setups since i was 18.. which is even heavier no issues at all take me about 1-2 hours once i have it hanging depending on how smooth it goes. i was hanging my wallet crushing build last night with the transmission over my fresh paint didnt bat an eye. we do way sketchier shit at the farm everyday. ive pulled an rb with a skidsteer a couple times too that's the cats ass. I have floor jack waiting under neathe and lower engine and raise jack at same time till all matches up nice! not new knews to you i bet. great work mate i like how you do things. i do like to thro a set of shop camshaft covers on tho so dirt and shit dont go in head when lowering. never know whats hiding on the chain links or in the engine hoist metal. i run prp covers so i use my stock ones when lowering. cheers.

i just did a rebuild on a totally turn key engine(rb26) never cracked, and mate its not cheap either way. the theory here is if you rebuild it now you may save it from totally destroying your cast block/head completely "maybe". BUT BUT BUT mate ive seen some crazy things(actual things) not only with rb's but with diesel motors where motors have even run out of oil and went for another what ever km because im still using them. sometimes a guy get a break and you can learn from your mistake without to much penny bank flipping. i would without a doubt put it back to normal and try it out who cares its jsut metal mate. when i say try it i mean dont go track it. maybe start it and take it around the block and listen a bit as best you can. may seem like a pain but ive thrown on stock exhaust just so i can hear my motor when diagnosing a serious issue, although gtr's are pretty quiet should be ok. im cheap man and also just an opinion. but ive been around motors long enough to know if it aint broke dont fix it. quit tinkering with shit you dont know mate! get a manual for your car too good buddy. small example, i have an sti that has been blowing oil for 4 years now and i have debated rebuilding it probably 15 times. -50 celcius, still street race it, still pulls hard, still drive it everyday, fill the oil up like its a type r integra b18c5 and keep going. cheers

Fricken nuts cold in my end of the woods right not hard to even get outside at all. So tuning again with my son and the mad scientist. Figured ditch some weight and get some space. Deleted abs and used the gktech kit to do the removal properly. Fairly cheap and looks great in bay. Feel like I should do the gktech clutch line now finish the bay up nice. -

ya the play has been made hole is cut, little bit of room left for a catchcan and a coolant over flow. i got a big sheet of aluminum 4by4by8, a sheet bender, a flat filter the size of a phone...so see what wierdness we come up with. i cant take any credit for the fab work as my buddy rashid is doing this one. his skills are far beyond mine so its best this way for a build that really does mean alot to me. i almost went f**king crazy a couple weeks ago just blokes stabbing back, lots of 2 faced people were in my life. but for my family and my son, i just kept my nose barried and ordered parts and helped in the shop on the build when i was well.trees are crazy stressful so i just stepped away for a bit to get my head right. i hate what my gtr does to my wallet but love what it does for my soul and couldnt count how many times the old bitch has been there for me after a crap day. cheers mates. -
thanks mate. all ive ever known is hard work the rest seems to fall in place but sometimes doesnt too, and thats ok. i really do enjoy working on cars and meeting mates like yourself. everyone around my area is laughing at me for investing into a dyno, the same way they laughed at me when i started my small little family tree company that does pretty good, so f**k them the world seems to becoming a more hostel and bitter place to live everyday so i just try to plow through, smile, and work twice as hard as the guy beside me. that keeps me focused on my short term goals. my 2 year old son seems to really like cars(cause he doesnt know waht money is yet) so im gunna invest for him so he doesnt have to cut trees like the rest of us. cheers chap.

Well got to about here and decided instead of using the stock location hole for the 3.5 inch pipe we are going to cut a new hole where it seems it wants to go,and cut a piece of metal with a little body work and fill the old intercooler hole. Thoughts? Am I proving my dumb Canadianness by hacking a hole here in my fairly nice gtr? I couldn’t care less but yeah...don’t know what to do here I’m tripping out mates.
