  1. i didn't mine my twins at all. seemed like they were always leaking something at some point. I'm way to impatient to deal with the rats nest on both sides of the engine really. its set up simple now for dumb Canadian.
  2. yeah they seem to be a life time battle of balance between spending frenzies and long sleepless nights, for me adhd just kicks the shit out of me so the worse the car is the better. regardless anything that can connect a son and his father is good beans. r32 gtrs being shit yes lol. that aside give me about a week mate that build im doing is turning out to be pretty not bad. not like some of the stuff in your neck of the woods but for a dumb canadian its gunna be the meow in the area. hopefully brings some business to the new shop. that's why i spent more than i should have im done cutting trees i feel like im going to die and my luck has run up to be honest. want to stay at ground level and try to make a buck tuning. ill have the only awd dyno within 1000km. ended up making a nice connection with prp canada through it tho so what ever. keep in touch good chap.
  3. or letting your wife drive your gtr...lol just kidding i was ripping the hell out of it racing an mk4 this summer and pulled it into fourth gear like a ppg. shes never been the same im assuming this is when that happened. oh well. i got that other box i should probably learn how to fix these things so i dont have to send it to you. cheers ben hope all is well mate.
  4. i think im due to break a gerbox soon ive been launching gtrs for years now and i always seem to have good luck with my glass build 5 speeds. might be that i never run sticky tires and usually spin alot. also have a slip valve on my triple plate works really good.
  5. hey ewan your a good mate. i didnt think it was that deal. gearbox is gunna see 30psi on a 6466 soon so i may have more goodies in the bottom of my gearbox soon. lol hopefully not mate but want to rebuild both of the 5 speeds i have, or just be a man and do the 6 speed swap from r34. cheers mate
  6. Was draining fluid out of the gearbox today and this came out or was stuck to the drain plug all happened at once. But definitely came out of the gearbox. Lol dumb Canadian cheers boys and gals looking forward to finding out what this is.
  7. the kind of gts you pretend not too see and turn left when your with your mate in your gtr, simply so you dont have to race this beast and get smoked. lol i love this car mate great work and awesome attention to detail.
  8. hey mate lots of good stuff on this thread. always seems once the wallet is open it doesnt stop. doing it right love it mate.
  9. We get most our parts from Tom Bourque at PRP-Canada for our rb builds.
  10. we are also going to be building some really nice aluminum covers for the front corners of the engine bays. if anyone ever wants any of the stuff we fab up let me know and we can crush em out for yeah. cheers
  11. intercooler pipe, catchcan, coolant can, downpipe on the schedule today at shop. have a good day mates. gotta love the prp stuff these days....
  12. Conversion complete for the triple plate exedy. Little bit of fab work and some fuel system shinanigans then we will crank this pig and get a small tune on the haltech and tarp it till the weather cracks...
  13. Also using kelford adjustable cam gears just waiting for them. Got her in today after a little grunt work under the Chinese intake manifold. Can’t wait till the plazma intake shows up and I’ll bin that Chinese one.
  14. Thanks Duncan I have made this mistake years ago, and yeah no cas using a prp trigger setup. We are using a nitto clear can cover with the oem gasket with the spacers in them. The mechanic wanted to run it open but not my style! I come from a tree equipment background and it makes no sense to me to leave the cover open like some people do. Just silly really. Stuff like that needs to be kept clean I always thought from dust going in between cam gears and belt...but I dumb Canadian lol still learning lots.
  15. we are planning on temporarily running the rear head drain to old rear turbo drain until the new sump ex pan arrives where the fitting is welded on the drivers side front of sump above the ex. any thoughts or opinions always valued! we have to get the car out of the shop soon as we need the bay space for other projects so its time to get her home. so if this rear turbo drain idea will work for now just a simple yes is nice if you know! we are running welded pvc, and 2 lines from breathers to open atmosphere catchcan.
  16. Getting closer, also attached the fuel pump hanger I ended up going with just wondering if anyone else is running the powerhouse triple hanger and could share there thoughts on it👍
  17. nice work on the old girl. cool little videos mate
  18. Finally got some stuff done today on the motor, should be firing her up this weekend as we have all the gooodies now to finish. Thanks to ben(bk) for helping out through this learning curve.
  19. i dont know why you would ever select a fluid based on how in functions when its not at operating temps. id be more concerned about how it when being smacked around a bit and what your synchro's look like when you tear your gearbox down... just my 2 cents tho. sounds like your pretty easy on your unit and dont rev it up to often tho, so i bet you could pretty much through wat ever you want in there and you would be ok. cheers. i dont think its hard to see that most the guys here commenting are running way more power than me and you ever will and they are saying its not good. if you took that redline fluid to the track for few days your gearbox would look like it has grease in it. b interesting if you magically had some syntrans and could try that. i feel like this thread would be dead at that point.
  20. drove the sti this morning 4 blocks to day care and went and got mail, by the time i got home i would have to wait about 2 seconds for the clutch slave to fully disengage before i could get back into throttle and continue into the next gear. fluid turns to gel fast....im ready to move soon
  21. i usually drive my car at night time around here so i know i sound like a classic dumb canadian but its cold here always(about 0 to plus 15 degreees celcius here all summer and fall. minus 52 today no joke coldest day of the year today i think. cant even go outside it f****d out, so even getting fluids to warm up daily driving can be a challenge. especiialy on our diesel motors. this being said i felt the hotter and harder i was on the syntrans fluid and the more i got the gearbox temps up it just started shifting like a dream. im totally convinced i wont use anything else now. i think anyone using redline is either stuck in the 90s or still using USA forums for information. real smart......
  22. they should call it deadline cause thats what your synchros will be when the fluids done with them...dead
  23. Castrol Syntrans 75w85 for the win. i messaged you a while back on this ben, was able to get a few rips in the car with the new castrol fluid before we ripped it apart for the build. shifted the exact same as the fluid i had in prior at regular rpm(3-5500) but seems to be far better at redline shifts...this is just my opinion tho, im not an expert by any means. but i do know for a fact that i have thrown out 300 dollars worth of redline fluid this week.
  24. and im going to save you here before you get eatn alive... 300-400hp well you already have that off the shelf....reliable is a wierd word in this world. usually comes down to the driver and the maintenance not the hp level mate. 300-400 is peanuts for her. n1 pump ive never been a fan off. seem like you have good capability mechanically.. with those turbos you could get much more and still be well reliable as you would say. nothings reliable really its a twin rb single that thing while you got the motor out. sell the twins. you will understand later they just suck.
