Fair enough. But the thread went up 2nd week of feb There is 4 weeks at least. But understandably it can't always be done with 12 months notice but give us (members) as much notice as possible 6-7 weeks quite often is not enough time for people to organize time off. Pay for the event, finish/prep cars etc etc Not a reflection on the current committee or anything like that, (I'm not calling you un-organised etc) But some more notice would be nice and not just from the Forum, Even though we are a Forum based car club, not everyone lives on here, I'm the perfect example of that. Like I said, happy to help by sending letters/emails what ever editing due to my phone typing skills making me sound like a twat lol

I've always been told different to that.... Eg advancing the cam is turning it the same direction as the crank rotation Eg http://www.compcams.com/technical/FAQ/LSAproperties.asp In the case uou are describing the 25s VCt must retard the cam as having huge overlap on a small motor is a sure fire way to lose all bottom end grunt As you say Not that simple but a good rule of thumb

You guys need to re- Read what advancing a cam does Increasing overlap increases cylinder filling at high rpm So why would you want that when trying to increase bottom end mid range torque Advancing the intake cam means that it closes earlier than when set at zero. Hence decreasing the amount of time both intake and exhaust valves are open I.e overlap Advancing the exhaust cam increases overlap as does retarding the inlet cam

But the cam is advanced. Opens sooner closes sooner So there is less overlap with the exhaust valves

Another thought What about opening up entries to members 12 months in advance and let them trickle in. Even have them pay just a deposit of $20 or something to stop people pulling out so readily then take full payment closer to the day Then open it to the general population if there are spots left 2 or 3 months out?

Is there another way of getting entries in apart from the forum? Eg if you mail out entry forms to people (snail mail) rather than relying on people checking the events section or an email. Least that way they can stick it on their fridge and not forget about etc Fair bit of work I know but happy to help
