Shift kits are a pain to live with...I can just tolerate mine because it has a loose stall that dampens it a bit, but mine is a proper built box with extra clutches etc which doesnt help. But plenty of low speed diff clunks and neck breaking upshifts to be had

dropping 7/10ths at that level is a lot eg twin turbo soarers are running 11.6's with just a front mount, boost and ECU 10's is a whole other ball game obviously you dont need half of that stuff I listed

as others have alluded too it will take more than just power. Circuit semi's are rubbish on a drag strip, will need the correct tyre's for the job plus you could have 350rwkws but if the car is laggy as hell then it wont run a 10 I know of a 1000hp R33 GTR that barely runs 12's because it is so laggy. Have you dont any drag racing at all before? I have done a fair bit and I still suck balls at getting a manual car off the line well What suspension do you have? sub frame mods?

I think the key word there is "at the discretion of the promoter" so if someone paid $$$ to get say Jenson Button to drive their car....can the "promoter" turn around halfway through and say he/she isnt allowed to drive anymore?

I'll agree with you when there are concrete rules regarding what can/can't be done. From where I'm sitting it is a shamozzle and geared purely to let EVO's be the only competitive cars the 3500cc rule makes anything but RB20's ineligible same with Supra's, 2.5L WRX's, Commodores, Falcons, Porshes Street rego/Street legal but there are GT2 cars entered I'm sure the event will be great for spectators and I will try and make it down to watch but is a massive head f**k for anyone trying to enter
