Any idea on when they would be available? or alternativley If I were to by a Single entry T4 what sizes are available?
and would I be able to by a TS housing late ron?
Wait, you dont want lag but you want a pair of GTRS turbos??
Sure they will let the car run, but yeah, as Ash said, need massive amounts of headwork, careful cam selection and spin to 9500rpm etc etc, otherwise they are a dog of a turbo on a 2.6
Also I pulled my supposedly modified Trust TD07S, and its not, So I may end up using It as Split Pulse T4 manifolds are in abundance for the 1JZ's, So it has the same comp wheel and housing as the T67 but has a larger Rear wheel and a 14cm^2 rear housing, If I can find a 10 or 12cm^2 turbine housing for it Ill be cheering, but so far no luck finding anything smaller than the 14
Yeah stock for stock, the MX5 doesnt give away all that much grunt and is 500Kg lighter, the skyline might be a bit quicker in a straight line but will lose through the corners.
They seem to do ok on auto cars with big stall converters in the states, but they have all been on 350+cube V8s, might work ok on a drag car, but would be horrid with a manual gearbox.
Either way I cant see it building boost at 2500rpm with a GT3082
I would much prefer a Bolt on low mount setup over a High mount on a GTR, Very much the same reason I dont want to pull the low mounts off my soarer. Less hassles etc, So Precision should make a Bolt on 1jz Setup! lol
So that one holds to 7000rpm, but power comes on like a switch, it doubles its power in the space of 200-300rpm.
If you can fatten up the mid range and bring it on boost smoother it would be a winner.
Not in my experience, torque is what turns the axles/accelerates the car, hp/kw is just torque x rpm
Eg, I have driven quite a few big power NA big block bent eights, on the road they all broke into wheel spin at around the peak torque rpm, but hold at high rpm in the same gear and plant it they dont.
yeah I know what you mean, have a look at MR2 track day photos, 90% of the cars are covered in dirt and mud from going off the track, the few cars that aren't dirty weren't trying hard enough lol
Yep, hence the 1500rpm power band and massive drop off after 5500rpm
Its due to the massive wheels inside small housings, same goes with the ct12 highflows that many companies do, all that achieves is a shit load of lag and maybe a 15rwkw gain overall for the soarer guys, because the housings just cannot flow enough air, so you stick a shit load of boost through them and all it does is superheat the intake air.
Its a typical GTR problem, but my soarer also does it sometimes,
Its because the Dash-9s in your case want to spool up very quickly, but the engine cant swallow it so it spits the excess air back out the turbo inlet, which slows 1 turbo down as the air comes back out then vice versa with the 2nd turbo.
Do you have the standard Bovs on the car or aftermarket ones? the standard ones are always open when the intake is under vacume to help prevent this.
