  1. Don't get flares, just get the guards slightly rolled, it doesn't involve painful stuff like fitting, sanding, matching paint, painting. Run a bit more neg camber, helps a bit.
  2. :laughing-smiley-014: Good point SK I'll hassle him about his non-genuine heater tap he's about to put in his car. Yeah, so I ended up calling just cars and they accepted the lock bar, so it's staying in there. cbf getting a engineers report and mod plate now.
  3. Cheers, never thought they would. Think I might do as dangerous_daveo said too and get it engineered and mod plated to be safe.
  4. Perished seal in slave cylinder possibly.. fluid level not dropping? Might still be a bit of air in the system, maybe try bleeding the system again.
  5. Wrong you were just intent on being a smart ass.
  6. Not sure what you're getting there, I agree the typhoon is a great car.
  7. Audi's are hardly cheap cars and are aimed more at performance and luxury with cost not being such a factor same with porsche, merc etc. Mitsubshi Galant running v6 turbo's for a while, why did they stop making them.... hmmm maybe because they were expensive for a little peice of crap and required engine out to change an oil filter.
  8. I believe I said 'practicable' as in feasible not 'practical'. I6 = straight six = easier and cheaper to turbo charge. If it was so easy to turbo charge a v6, holden would have done it to compete with the turb falcons. That's why I'm saying they'll either be na or some form of piss weak supercharged motor. And of course a v35 CAN be turbo'd, but it wasn't... proving my point more, if was easily possible and Nissan thought it was profitable I'm sure they would have been turbo'd. Hmm, don't know when I ever said v35 is bigger than a falcon, but proportionally they'd have about the same amount of room under the bonnet. Smaller car, smaller motor only needs smaller turbos... Come on, you can't seriously think a 4WD applies to this situation... Under bonnet is huge and the turbo's are usually small and aimed at torgue rather acceleration and performance.
  9. Yeah true, but just cars are assholes. Even if my car is in an accident and I'm not at fault they'll probably still look for a way to screw me out of my money.
  10. I agree with an earlier post, weld the cat in further back it won't see as much heat.
  11. Forget about it for today, as none of the hose places are open. Just catch a taxi or walk to work. and then bring the turbo and the oil/water lines into enzed etc. and they'll be able to make them up for you. I'm not sure why the lines wouldn't bolt on... they can be bent as needed you know, are the banjo bolts the wrong thread for the new turbo or something?
  12. Cheers, that's kind of confirmed my fears. An Engineers report costs lots I believe, so looks like I'll just have to put the standard equipment back in.
  13. I’ve replaced my HICAS with a lock bar and it’s been in there a while now, couldn’t be happier with it, but unfortunately my old man found HICAS unit and was instantly worried . Are there any legal issues with doing what I have done? Will it wipe my insurance? More importantly does anyone know if insurance assessors would look for something like this so vehicle specific? Now I’ve I called around to a couple places and no one can seem to tell me what I need. My Dad seems to think I need an engineers report, but this seems a little excessive for something that essentially just making it the same as every other car on the road without HICAS. Would a mod plate cover this sought thing or is it deeper than that? Cheers, Brett.
  14. No shit, 'putting turbo's on' I'm talking about cars coming factory turbo, this simply won't happen if the straight six is replaced with the v6. Look at past makes and models, only commodore with a turbo was straight 6, as soon as skylines went to v6 no turbo, 300zx was twin turbo and look at the mess they were, then the 350z no turbo. Performance comes second to handling, emissions, efficiency and safety in modern family cars today. 'Weight is not an issue' listen to yourself speak... Of course it's an issue hence why big family cars are not selling well.
  15. What a fcking stupid comment. Of course it's possible, but it isn't practicable for what is essentially a family car. Besides the weight issue there's no room for twin turbs with a big v6. Supercharged is very possible with the v6, I'm just saying it's a disappointment to see the straight 6 go after their recent success with turbocharged models.
  16. I didn't mind the BA, but I knew ford would fck it up the next shape to come. Probably why the BA shape hasn't changed in years. Some one was saying to me they're putting a v6 in instead of the straight, so that'll prevent anymore turbo six's from coming out.
  17. Compress the springs and just slide them down, you can pop them out of the groove with a screw driver or fingernails.
  18. Nothing in the head itself, however the s1 has the external igniter module and some late series 2 have the r34 cams and cas.
  19. Also motortech carby cleaner is shit, 50 cans of it isn't worth $3.80.
  20. It won't be the iac as this gets progressively worse, not instantly... Check for popped off/cracked hoses, particularly between BOV and manifold.
  21. It's a good idea to replace them while the cams are out anyway, the springs would be worn and loosing tension. If you keep them they might not be an issue providing you don't raise the rev limit. I don't think the lift will be issue, Many people run 9.0mm lift and standard springs on rb20, rb26 springs are an alright upgrade if you don't want to spend the cash on A/M. I'd probably just replace them to be safe and avoid valve float. Hope you like lumpy idle
  22. Should be the same depending on brands, I know ryco filters have the same filter listed for rb25det and z32. Just buy it and compare with old.
  23. Series 2 block has the provisions for oil lines but lines can be tapped easily. other wise it doesn't really matter.
