  1. 20 too old.
  2. I already know where all the red light cameras are around me, so the GPS detector things are pointless not that I'd intentionally go through a red light anyway. Edit: why would you need to know where red light cameras are anyway?! People who go through red lights deserve to be fined, there's no valid excuse for it.
  3. Pissing in your fuel tank would have similar benefits...
  4. Thought I'd post some else's s1 with p1's. Absolutely love the silver with with white rims.
  5. Yellow is a very ugly colour for any car
  6. Why twin cam? sohc rb30 standard internals + responsive turbo = good power, just not as smooth or tune-able. Trying to find a good a rb30 vl is a task, but you occasionally find one that an old man has taken care of since new for a couple grand + if buy a whole car it makes the conversion easier. If you buy a 33 you'll constantly get shit for how common they are... but saying that I'd never swap to r31.
  7. Black smoke also fuel related. I don't know how you could rule out injectors without taking them out... Trying running some injector cleaner through the motor.
  8. I think the misfiring maybe from low cold cranking amps i.e. the battery maybe on the way out, thats if it's not misfiring after say 10mins of driving. Or because of the fuel issue. The white smoke could be caused from a number things all fuel related, low compression from worn valve stem seals, glazed pistons/bore, worn rings etc. or faulty fuel injectors, junked up, old etc. or incorrect fuel injection timing/duty cycle - if your tune is already rich(safe tune) start up is going to be ultra rich. Try the easy solution first, adjust the screw on the iac valve, this lets the motor run a bit leaner on startup.
  9. mmmmm, I love laaaaag! Time to invest in an XF.
  10. Yeah I know, but try getting the money out them... A couple months ago a shop recked my mates wrx by carelessly cutting a hole in the IC piping for a BOV in process leaving a 50c size piece steel in the piping results in loads of damage. He's tried every path to get money out them, but they claim it was km's of the motor (150,000km) and they also said they keep no steel in the workshop of that description which is just cope out. You can try fair trading and all that but unless the shop is willing to admit they made a mistake it's going to be hard.
  11. Just take it on the chin and bad mouth the shop to all your mates.
  12. Having bought and installed a cushioned button, I would say go for the twin plate. The cushioned button is still very bitey and I've heard of many people replacing soon after due to quick wear, as they don' like to be ridden. I'm just waiting for mine to start to slip, although saying that it hasn't slipped yet. Reversing over gutters is also painlful as I try not to ride the clutch to wear it and not go too quick over the gutter as to damage the suspension and front bar. Moral, save up and get a twin plate.
  13. The rear seal probably wasn't installed right causing the shaft to be unbalanced, couple grams out at 100,000rpm+ isn't pretty. I wouldn't say it wouldn't be anything to do with oil restriction otherwise the standard 25 turbo would be playing up too. Was there black much black smoke when you drove it?
  14. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with trying to fix the gauge, a few more details about the gauge would have been helpful.
  15. na, it's f**ked. lol what kind ambiguous question is that...

  17. eBay has alright complete kits at the moment for around $500.
  18. Love the GT-R wheels on the S2, more pics!
  19. I'm actually in the same situation as the crazy old lady at the moment. I live in a fairly quiet street and my car is also fairly quiet. But a couple doors up there's two shitty pox boxes that seem to have no exhaust at all, one is a dirty pulsar and the other is tx3 turbo that has worst sounding loudest BOV I have ever heard. These two wankers like to keep revs above 4k when decelerating and accelerating and you can hear the screech of tyres and backfiring every time they come around the corner. So I kind of understand where the old lady's are coming from, but if you exhaust is legal and you don't rev the guts out of it I don't know how she could have a problem.
  20. Checked this today and it was sitting on the bumpstop on the one side I test lowered, so looks like I'm gonna have fun tomorrow pulling suspension out again
  21. Fuel hose crimps are the trick, put one each side of the filter and then remove filter.
  22. I like the Ford Territory turbo out of that list. Looks fairly professional, has a fair bit of go, comfortable and handles reasonably well. Also if needed you can tow stuff and does well on sand if you take it on the beach.
  23. Fairly sure it's not, I don't think 33's suffer from that issue as much and I've got universal bump stops which are fairly short too. Looks like I'll do both sides as low as possible because I don't think it'll make that bigger drop. Cheers for the responses.
  24. Ok, last night I moved the circlip down two grooves only on the front left hand front side to test height. This at first measurement made no difference at all, so I let it settle by going for a drive. I measured it this afternoon and still very little difference. Am I missing something here? as I thought two grooves would have dropped the ride height substantially... I am actually lowering the suspension by moving the circlip down right? Cheers, Brett
