  1. Would never park my line there in a zillion years!
  2. I have a mate that is waiting for his bank to give him the nod to purchase one of these suckers. What I'm telling you is pretty much what the dealer said to him. Test drive isn't a drive around the block. Bloke said that it's a blast out somewhere decent because that's where it'll shine at it's best. Because he was at the Sutherland Mitsu, I hope they give him a blast down through the national park. I'm not sure if it's the same Brembo's as the R34. I thought the R34's were 4 pot also? I also thought that there was a variation between the standard GTR and a V Spec as standard is 300mm and Vspec is 333mm or so.
  3. It makes sense that Mistu will sell the EVO8 for the same price as an STI. The 6.5 wasn't exactly selling like hot cakes and took Mitsu a while to get rid of them. I'm sure anyone wouldn't want to repeat the mistake Nissan made with the GTR. I think people really underestimate the EVO8. About 80% of max torque occurs at 2500rpm! No way the RB26 does this stock. Not to mention the 380?mm disc brakes. That's massive for a car that light. The R34 GTR is heavier and has 355mm discs (I think? No bigger though). In theory, the EVO should out brake the R34. I know we all love our lines' but when the head starts thinking, you can't beat the EVO8.
  4. Mine use to do that until I replaced the ECU. Then it went away??? Weird!
  5. 3 words fat o gram
  6. That's Zane. He's on the forums somewhere and comes to track days at EC. I spotted fatz new toy. Beastly thing I must say!
  7. It's proving hard to find a place to house 6 people.
  8. go to www.whiteline.com.au That's where I got mine.
  9. The kit comes with bolts, bushes and lub oil. Pretty simple fit. Hard bit was getting the old stuff off. I reckon go the heavy duty if your going to do some track work. Other wise just stick to the standard stuff.
  10. Sorry folks! Jag seat is gooooone!
  11. Ok, so far the list looks like this 2004 Formula One entry list 1. Michael Schumacher (Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro) 2. Rubens Barrichello (Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro) 3. 12. Monaro CV8 (aka 427) is a Class A car; For cars complying with the current technical regulations for; Australian Nations Cup – Group 1, FIA Series Grand Touring Cars (N-GT), British GTO, All Japan GT - Group 2, American Grand – Am (GT), Lamborghini Trophy. I'd seriously take the JGTC spec GTR over a R34 GTR Nur. At the end of the day, most of these cars are nowhere near their road going counter parts. It's all about marketing of a brand. Seiously how many road going GTR's are compareable to the Grp A. GTR's run by Fred Gibson back in the early 90's?
  13. Group A was scrapped because it's mega bucks to run a car in the catagory. Early 90's (recession) plus expensive cars to race = bye bye. Duncan, are you competing next season in the combined touring?
  14. Like this beast I saw hooning along to wakefield the other weekend. Gets the *** sik award for 03.
  15. Money talks, bullsh*t walks. Frank Williams is too tight on spending big bucks on his drivers. Good to see JPM go to Mclarens for 05. DC, I think he's past his peak. When he was at Williams and first season for Mclarens he was good but he's dropped off now. However every new season brings a new mental approach so hopefully he can sting it together. I hope Webber gets a drive at Williams though. Don't see Jag doing to well too soon. His contract expires at the end of 05 so Frank Williams may have to buy out the last year of his contract, so may not get it. Renualt is a good option for Webber.
  16. an R31 with a rb26 in there. Like fatz's one. A beast I tells ya! :burnout:
  17. Work? What's that? Is that when your body can no longer hold you up and you black out for a period of 6, or in my case, 12 hours?
  18. Can I vent too? WARM BEER! I HATE WARM BEER! Mate handed me on yesterday because his fridge was stuffed. Not to be rude I accepted with pain and agony.
  19. Just wanted to know if you guys are going to stay till Monday or Tuesday. Please respond.
  20. Good luck mate. I'll take care of your car...... can't promise that it will come back in one piece though.
  21. Floating hats also have the added benifit of suffering less warpping or something like that. The temps where the surface is coming in contact with the pad will be much greater than at the centre when operating in extreme conditions. Something to do with metal expanding and cooling at differing rates from inside to outside of rotors.
  22. taken from whiteline page Toe is the difference in distance between the front and rear of the tyres. Historically front toe was the only thing that could be modified as rear wheel drive vehicles using a rigid axle had fixed rear toe, usually neutral. Many modern front wheel drives have rear toe adjustment as standard which is critical to their handling. Current VT Commodores have an independent rear suspension design that has substantial dynamic toe change requiring after market solutions to correct. Whiteline IRS Camber/Toe adjusting kit is designed to around this problem. Essential when lowering. (See IRS for more details) Excessive amounts of either will adversely effect tyre wear. Excessive toe-in makes the car unresponsive and doughy. Excessive toe-out makes the car nervous and lacking in directional stability. Minor values are useful for improving turn-in, steering response and masking torque steer.
  23. GOR is a must. Whenever I'm down there I make time for it cause it's worth it. But want to do Great Alpine Road. Another road which bikies love.
  24. Not sure what the suspension on the Gloria is or like but when lowering some cars cause excessive camber. Either that or excessive toe out, I think?
