  4. thanks what of wolf ecu? or greddy ecu? Im seeing them cheap atm. I did think nistune but is it just plug and play?like swappng a pc graphics card? basic tune on it? diy it? until i can save for tunes sorry still a noob with skylines obviously hehe
  5. i did think this with boost creep but how common is this senario? I mean my car is std except pod,bigger fmic and big exhaust. I think i need to make sure its a 5psi actuator?as it may have a 10psi one. about the std r33 dont they get to 7psi? not 5psi
  6. A cheap aftermarket series 2 r33 gtst ecu or piggy back computer. or good deal on a power fc.

  8. Yeah its not bad quiet but would like it louder without the restrictor. What are the good cheap option ecu's? would like a power fc but how do the cheaper piggy back ecu's perform?
  9. A boost controller can lower the boost for me also? actuator is directly hooked up with 6mm short hose to fmic pipe for least boost possible? It may have a r32 10psi actuator already? as it seems to hit 10psi but then creep to 12 at he end.
  10. still having some issue with my 96 gtst r33 skyline. Basicaly i have a Blitz 3" full exhaust with big down pipe and decent size Fmic, the exhaust came with a bolt in restrictor,silencer for the end of the exhaust as a option to run. With the restricter in my car gets to a solid 9-10psi and is basically a missile(never hitting boost cut). However i like the loud of the system without this restictor/silencer installed on the end, but my car then boost to 10-12psi then just hits boost cut? which is why its annoying me. The question is , does this sound normal ?and is it normal for big exhaust to make more boost?. would a r32 7psi actuator be the answer?. I dont really want big boost yet as im saving for a power fc. I have fuel cut defender but dont know how to adjust it/install. Im thinking of trying a 2.5" restrictor plate in exhaust, this silencer is ugly hehe. Is there ways to keep/get boost low?

  12. Been looking on ebay but some dont look strong. Im especially just interested in a rear set for now. Plenty of ones like a horse shoe like this shape ( But seen a few like a double horse shoe shape like this () they look alot stronger?. any links?
  13. Guys think ive found the problem. Today I fixed a $4 clamp in my Fmic and car has never felt so good, its crisp and sharp on the thottle,it boost well but to arund 9psi now. Ive Never been so happy with my car, thankyou to everyone for your help,beers at forum meets on me lol. Before my car felt soft,sluggish, its was louad and boosted fast but i think it was "free boosting" with the air leak?. Still fingers crossed i have fixed it, very happy now. I am still willing to pay someone for a lesson on how to do basic tune(eg proper timing and AAc adjusting) to these motors though, learning from a PDF manual is not as good as first hand experience. I plead to everyone, if youthink its your coilpacks,check for leaks, i was sure it was electrical as it feels very simular.My car was drivable before it just had these high boost issues, the power was very on or off $4 clamp later my engine feels refined and smooth. Hope its all good now, thanks guys!

Hey guys, yeah i was not think right and yeah it's obvious now i think about it, boost pressure is way more than vacume would ever be, The whole reason i was asking about vacume was seeing if it could be a diagnosis for boost leak, well good story today as i think my fmic was leaking. One $4 clamp and no more overboost, coil pack type missfire feeling. My car has actually never felt so crisp or fast, it boost well to around 9psi. Before my car had a very soft but loud feeling, it would boost fast but i think it was free boosting?, with the air leak the power was very on or off, it felt sluggish and the exhaust was loud. Anyway thankyou everyone for your input, ive now learned about the mercury system lol,hope my car cotinues to run well but fnger crossed. I plead to everyone to check there car for air leaks, your car might be lagging and you dont even realise it, i thought my issue was coilpacks but now im thinking it wasnt even electrical.   15. ok thankyou i will look into them but they charge quiet a lot?. Sort of after someone who i can watch and learn from too, giving me advice on what i have done correctly only have a few hundred $ atm at that wont pay for much at a dyno, dont have money to pay for days of work and dont want to leave car overnight somewhere. I wouldnt mind just someone private backyard ,who's passionate and likes to hang under the bonnet a suck RD25det fumes for kicks lol Plus they get to go fang in my car if it needs testing, there has to be Mr meyagi of skylines somewhere in adelaide. 2 hours of the right help on a sunday or anyday would help me to understand, it may be a case i have done most things correct. Pm me if you have r33 turbo experience,have some spare time and would like some extra cash

Hi I dont know alot about these cars, even dyno tuners shy away from them.I have a 1996 GTST I need someone with experience who can look at my car and hep with some issues im having, Im willing to pay them but im not rich. Even advice to a good dyno tuner, I live north of adelaide and have been to southern hi-tech dyno as he was great but hes a little far. However im willing to travel far if its a skyline specialist. Towler tuners up here said they didnt know enough to accept the car. Im having boosting issues since i installed FMIC and Full big exhaust. Overboosting,actuator ,boost setup problems Would like someone to check timing, AAC adjustment, Coilpacks , plugs, actuator pressure , ecu codes ect. I have been tuning car myself and tuning this stuff by the manual but need a experts touch to make sure what im doing is right. Who is the jackie chan of skylines in adelaide and doesnt charge a arm or leg?dyno a bonus. thanks Brett

Not yet as only the std nipples are there(one in incooler pipe before throttle body im currently using and one nipple on bov return line i have blocked off) im planning to tap the pipe just after the turbo soon as i buy a nipple and some epoxy type stuff.. What is annoying is that it was running ok the other day. My blitz intercooler uses the std top engine pipes and crosses over under the cooler so top pipes are all still standard.
  21. What vacume are you seeing with your r33 at idle? Im trying to work out if i have boost leak that could cause my R33 GTST car to be overboosting to around 13psi with the std actuator. It was giving me 20psi vacume at idle but after checking some pipes its now 15psi vacume, the serario of boost leak cause overboosting is confussing me but it makes sence if the actuator doesnt get pressure?yet still im confussed lol Im still learning with turbo cars and pressure turbo systems so please correct my thinking if its wrong? I have worked out i am hitting boost cut at around 12 psi but what i cant work out is why im boosting that hard, no boost controller(directly hooked up to motor for min boost) Actuator feel free and shuts ok. It was running ok for one day and held 10psi firm with no issues but now issues back. I think its boost leak giving me boost creep from 10 to 12-13?
  22. ok thanks again ,will check that.. Interestingly i just went for a drive but put a silencer in the end of my exhaust that came with my blitz exhaust, boosted till 10 psi and held rather solid there, no lag or issues. I think im suffering from boost creep from the free exhaust? before it went to 10 but creeped up to 12psi near the end of the rev range.
  23. thanks I think the actuator is in the normal position(nipple) after intercooler and before throttlebody . I will check others but more suggestions please. Is 12 psi normal for only intercooler + full exhaust mod? Remember dyno tuner claimed psi was 9.2? Would restricting the exhaust lower the boost?
