i used to get 190Kws at wheels in mine
that was stock ecu, 11psi, 3inch turbo back and fmic
you should be getting more then that
i got just over 200 after a dodgy retune
from reading around the net it could be they are a bulb called HIR
they are halogen bulbs with an infrared (H IR) coating on them to make them burn hotter / brighter
google HIR bulb and you will see they look the same (look for a site named candlepower)
I think you will find its becasue the car is so old
you are getting all the old car problems
1989 was a long time ago
and it was one of the reasons i never ended up with an r32 GTR
I wanted something a little newer
and because they are an old jap import the cost of repair is really high
if its at around 3500 - 4500 that its happening then its rich and retard
its jumping from the standard map to the rich and retard map
well thats what mines doing anyway

couldnt get more the 248Kws @ 16psi
so we stopped there
emanage was giving us grief jumping between the two maps ( standard and rich and retard)
im sure with abit more time on the dyno we could catch the point at which its doing it and stop it going to R&R
but im a little over it for now
maybe later on ill look into it again
mine was cutting at 14.5psi
it hits hard too
but i have run the signal thru my emanage and have clamped the voltage so now its doesnt cut
you have to watch for airflow cut and the boost sensor cut in the R34
over protective pieces of shit

Im also running 2.5" on the hot side of my intercooler piping in case you are wondering
Im sure we can work it all out but im a bit concerned that 3 psi only got me 5Kws
Gary mines dipping big time around 4500 and it makes it sort of have to start again
I might have to wire in the nvcs and see if i can manipulate it around there ( I believe it kicks in around 4500)
also after blocking the standard BOV off i cant seem to feel the dip as much anymore its much more linear

Im having the same dramas at the moment
mine made 235kws at 14 psi then made 240kws at 18psi
are you still using stock BOV ?
or could it be auto is slipping ???
i just blocked off the bov then and took it for a run
hitting full boost (well as full as the gauge will go) at 4000 now so maybe it was bleeding off boost
back on the dyno i say
im running 18 spi thru a standard BOV
my problem is it seems to boost quick to 7psi (around 2500 - 3000)
but then take an eternity to get to 18 (at the end of the rev range)
does the standard valave hold 18psi or do i need to mod it ( ive read the threads but still confused)

mine does
they sound sweet coming on boost
Im running the AVO housing from HPIAB (.73AR)
but cant comment on boost issues because i havent got mine tuned yet
