r34 gtt PowerFc's plug into series 1 Stagea's no problem. need to alter some injector outputs (3 of them to be precise), and swap around the headlight and rear demister inputs thanks to Beastien for that info. apparently the vvt hasnt been an issue

Aftermarket Piggyback Ecu For Auto?
Tangles replied to jippa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
wow, thats a lot of money. maybe in a few yrs time then, cant afford that amount at this stage. damn pity -
could be a number of issues. what was the air temperature? was it real cold? could be R&R. Id suggest changing plugs to .8mm gapped copper plugs, and silicone up all the coil packs, use Selleys Industrial Silicone Sealant 401, high temperature stuff seeing its in your motor, get it from a hardware store for $12. Apply liberally all around the coil packs to stop wasted spark. If that doesnt help, purchase a safc2 and get a dynotune done, that'll map around the R&R if that is infact the problem.

Id been drinking, not much, but decided my license wasnt worth risking. apologies for not rocking up

sounds like someone lost control, perhaps, on a slippery bit of road. over corrected and slammed into a fixed object, at speed. not good. I sincerely trust they are ok. also sounds like some ppl (edit: read everyone!!) perhaps should deal with a load of debilitating pain at some stage in their life, more sympathy and thought may then be shown in regards to responding to posts. although I, and Im sure black32 agrees with me on this, wouldnt wish that on anyone. please think about the person you are replying to. its fairly common knowledge that black has suffered from a bad back injury, requiring heavy painkillers which can infact alter your mood. "trust me" I know. if you are in a lot of pain, not feeling good about yourself, it doesnt take much to rub you up the wrong way. I think black32 here presents himself admirably, in regards to his particular circumstances. ignore me, Im rambling. better then drooling tho. edit: apologies for my stupid post. but meh. thats me.

Aftermarket Piggyback Ecu For Auto?
Tangles replied to jippa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
too true, too true. maybe I am being unrealistic? But I sort of figure that perhaps a chipped stnd ecu might be a good compromise (between stnd ecu and aftermarket ecu), still using the safc and sitc to get the best tune as possible. I think its a sound theory. Id just suggest that a better flowing muffler (now installed), an adj cam gear wheel set to retard 4 degrees (sitting at home), an ecu remap and a boost rise to 16psi, with retune of safc/sitc to suit, would harness a 20rwkw gain.......... Id be happy with 200rwkw at the end of the day at around the 1bar mark. Dont discount the slide highflow turbo, an impressive piece of kit. For the price. At this stage Ive discounted the powerfc as being too hard basket, Dont know the secret squirrel trick, dont know how to wire it up in conjunction with the stnd ecu (hence using it as piggyback), there is the issue with the ecu plug and the r34 pfc vvt issue; havent got the time or the resources to muck around with it.... drdrift remap sounds like a sound deal. Mind you Im happy with what I have got at the moment. -
What Can This Turbo Do? T3/rx7 Hybrid...
Tangles replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
nothing wrong being a black sheep. Ive heard of rx7/rb25 highflows doing a good job... word of mouth tho if its $200, then buy it. if its a dog once installed then send it to Slide and have it redone. will still come in at same price roughly to a new slide highflow. as i said before. sometimes youve got to take a gamble and go by your gut feel. -

Tangles replied to WogsRus's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if it IS a bragain (say $200) - buy it and give to aaron (Slide) to wave his wand over. going by the rear housing, that job is half done. front needs be matched to the back, probably a new thrust bearing core as well? ask arron for a quote...... sliding performance goodness for the win, the value is unbeatable. IMO. if its cheap buy it, for the same price as a slide highflow all up the issues (if any) could be rectified anyway. I cant stress how well slides highflow works on a rb25det, just feels so much nicer to drive. I agree, I think the gcg is overpriced, no way its worth twice the price. -
I would have bought a Stagea whether I had a family or not, whether I drove everyday or not (mild tune vr ss v8 sedan was previous car). Wanted an R33 but a coupe isnt practicle in the long run, didnt fit well either - fitted slightly better in a Stagea, Id put it down to the roof (stagea is horizontal flat, coupe slants downwards). Doesnt get any blue attention, thats with the super dark windows and a tasty fmic/dayz bodykit with shiney alloys (r34 gtt, so I can argue to the unwise they are nissan standard). Turbo goodness beats v8 ironblock rumble everyday of the week. Highflowing the turbo, with all the needed extras, makes it such a pleasure to own. My 10yr car.. so practicle, so different, so powerful, it CAN handle (for a car, this comes from a silly-fast adelaide hills bike road 'racer') but it IS a wagon not a bike...... so within limits and within reason its a good car to own.

meh looks good to me rear wheel looks big, like a max oversize rear housing/wheel front, who knows....... thats the important one tho if its a bargain, then try it out. can always resell for what you get it for. if its over $700 dont bother, talk to Slide here about his highflows Id say give it a shot..... have you got engine management to suit ? 9edit: remap + safc, yeah sounds good) -
Is This Part Of The Exhaust Standard?
Tangles replied to skylinetas's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yup, stock I got a bellmouth type from JustJap for $220 delivered around a year ago. stainless steel good value JustJap sell the split system for $249 atm.... looks to be a top deal. -

might pop in..... will be bloody cold tho

we dont get non-turbo versions in Australia, sorry cant help. replace the Oxygen sensor replace the fuel filter get a SAFC and have the airfuel ratio dynotuned use a good engine oil check the cat converter and make sure it isnt blocked use hi-RON fuel strip off some weight (not you, the car!)

Aftermarket Piggyback Ecu For Auto?
Tangles replied to jippa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeah Id get the ecu back in the car, take it to a dynotuner, and retune the safc/sitc to suit. that way Id have a remapped ecu to suit my mods, and a safc/sitc combo for finetuning. Id be happy with that -
ok..... I thought about that type of intercooler but decided against it. found an Apexi intercooler, on ebay from Japan, made for the 180sx, called Apexi "Hybrid" as its half tube/fin and half bar/plate it is a return feed type cooler and is pretty sweet using it on my rb25det Stagea, should be fine for 230rwkw there used to be a link on the apexi usa website but its gone, sorry. search ebay, might find another one. I got it for around 300usd, I bought some pipes for 100usd and 3ply silicone and bolt-type clamps. put it together myself. was pretty pleased with my efforts, however my new tuner laughed at my dodgyman job and redid it for me no charge, lol. works fine - the below pic was when I was using rubber silicone (cheap, came with the ebay pipe kit), kept popping off due to the cheap silicone and the cheap clamps, so I got the proper 3ply blue stuff from JustJap (one 3rd the price then Autobarn) and the bolt clamps from an irrigation place.

Sliding Performance rb25 highflow turbo that way you dont ramp up on boost until a bit later in the rev range (not a huge deal of difference compared to stock turbo).... by not getting onto boost until slightly further up the rev range (200rpm?) you save fuel in city traffic good excuse anyway to highflow the turbo

Aftermarket Piggyback Ecu For Auto?
Tangles replied to jippa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
so I take it I can send the ecu, along with the complete list of mods etc, perhaps copies of previous dynotune?, to get chipped and modified, and potentially then reuse the safc and sitc combo for finetuning on a dyno. got to call Sam tho, probably tomorrow now (bit late now for a friday arvo..) sounds good to me, highly likely thats how I'll get my Stagea fine tuned. even if the safc/sitc wasnt necessary, I think itd be best to keep them in for that finetune option. -
cheers dude just loking into my ecu options......
