everywhere I rang said $40+ and the majority said they just wouldnt do it.
-
that is solid, I'll give them a buzz, cheers
-
You must be a pretty crappy IT guy if you dont know what luls means lol
-
tred shed were the ones that wanted $40 a corner
-
So I need 4 tyres fitted and balanced to my skyline, most of the big names won't do it for insurance reasons and everywhere else wants $40 a tyre or something ridiculous, can anyone recommend anywhere cheap? Hell if you work at a tyre place I'll pay you personally to do it in your spare time
-
Just round metal rings, you'll need to measure the size difference and get them made to fit.
-
You also need an aftermarket fuel rail as they are top fee, I got some custom spacers machined up personally for the bottom so they would fit.

It took your tuner 13 hours to realise that the cable was dodgy? He better not be charging you the $200 an hour you quoted for that!

Not it isn't, power is. Even though there is less torque there is more work being done (more power) so even though the actual force per cylinder explosion is lower there are more explosions going on. If that were the case everyone would make their cars massively under-square with huge strokes and tiny bores, sure it makes loads more torque but it makes less power and is hence slower. That is all due to the rate that power increases, eg turbo cars break into wheel spin when the turbo kicks in due to the massive slope in power, it has nothing to do with the amount of torque though. Basically the wheels break traction then they increase in rpm, that increase brings about more power and makes them spin even more, where as at the higher rpm the power level is flat or decreasing, this means when they break traction the revs increase and hence it is making less power, this means the power drops below what is required to spin the wheels and it hooks up again. Nothing to do with torque level and everything to do with the slope of the power curve. Really good article here on why this is the case. http://autospeed.com.au/cms/title_Power-ve...48/article.html

Time to find another tuner.
-
probably is, but how else does the oil get here?
-
It will wheel-spin at peak power not peak torque, sure the torque drops off but the overall power keeps climbing due tot he increase in rpm.
-
How does the tuner not already have a cable? Have they ever tuned a skyline before? When I put my cable in the plug was a bit dicky and would come loose at times, had to really put a lot of pressure to get it to click in properly. Also regarding people using the RB25s with the RB20 ECU, eboost street boost controllers have a build in rpm based controller which can switch the VCT on and off within a window of RPM, works very well and if you already need a boost controller (most people do) then it makes sense to get this one.
-
How effective is an external gate plumbed up to the internal gate location? It wouldn't be legal as it would be seen as a form of boost control modification.

Stao I think the point nismoid etc are getting at is that if you ran all your dyno runs to 7500rpm and compared a GT30 to it the GT30 would hold peak power for 500-1000rpm longer, at least that is how I am reading it, the highflows all seem to drop off peak power after 6000-6500rpm no doubt due to the internal gate starting to choke. For the money, the stock fitment and lack of needing external gate etc your turbos clearly are value for money, I don't think anyone has said they aren't. Pros and cons people, you want stock fitment and no external gate then I just can't see anyway of holding peak power all the way to a 7500rpm limit, if you don't care about the stock look then a gt30 will no doubt have not much more lag and will hold the power for longer but at an added cost. Question, has anyone ever tried tacking an external gate onto the stock manifold? Would probably be a complete waste of money when you can go an externally gated turbo + manifold but I'm curious how it would go.
-
you forgot the cost of the wastegate and everything else that you need for it to work.
-
GCG charge about the same for a bb highflow, I wouldnt say it is high for what you are getting. I really doubt this.

Lol I figured out what the acronym but why on earth would they buy a spam bot for it, sounds like a pretty bloody specialised system.

if you want gtr injectors on a 25 you need one though. -
LOL freighting a single bottle of oil from the USA is going to cost like $100 edit: oh wait it is local, in that case I cant see any issues.
-
lol disconnecting the AFM will always mean it will run like absolute ass and stall

makes no sense why you would spam that though, who on earth would be interested in the "vaccine safety surveillance system"

Aircon Regassers In Melbourne That Use Hychill Hr12 Gas
Rolls replied to funkymonkey's topic in Victoria
Just had it done this arvo, I never had the air con working before so I can't compare how well it works, now the car was sitting in the sun all day and the glass/doors were too hot to touch but it managed to get it cool enough to stop sweating inside. One of my vents is busted so it doesn't feel as cold as it should, but the air coming out the vents is very chilly, compressor doesn't seem to suck much power either as I can still spin 2nd in the dry slowly rolling onto throttle. Can't really say how much better it is, but it is certainly not worse! Cost $150 cause I got a call out guy to come do it along with putting the oil and die in as mine had the gas let out for compliance. Bloke was Bruce from dial a auto regas to come do it here in Adelaide, very friendly guy and I would recommend him to any people here in SA, number is 0411 745 511, was almost as interested in my car as the actual air con lol.
